  1. Care to expand on the differences?
  2. Kevin, those are some monster whites! On first glance, I thought they were all hybrid.
  3. Going into a snake infested creek after a $3 crabkbOt
  4. Awesome. I was thinking the constant movement when trolling would mane it hard to effectively present a suspending jerk. So francho, you would prefer to troll a floating jerkbait?
  5. Have any of y'all found that trolling suspending jerkbaits for black bass is effective, particularly out of the kayak? What are your favorite trolling lures for black bass? So far, I have had success trolling from one spot to another using a mid diving rapala crankbait, but I'm looking to expand my trolling repertoire.
  6. I had a water mocassin inhale a jig a few weeks back. He saw the jig hit the water and attacked! Thank goodness he unhooked himself after a minute.
  7. That's awesome! I really want to get into some stripers from the kayak.
  8. I use em for catfish bait. There's a trash filled city creek around here that I can pull 100 bluegill out of with a handful I worms.
  9. When is it opportune to use the dredge style with the owner deep throat hook over the regular hook style?
  10. It's usually how long my wife lasts before she's calling telling me to come home. With a 4 month though, I can't complain if I'm out for 30 minutes.
  11. I used to have a pet bass in my aquarium. When he would eat the feeder fish off the bottom, he would suck in several of the small rocks layering the bottom of my tank. Immediately after sucking in the prey, the bass would expel all of the rocks from his mouth. I can only assume it does the same thing with a big ball of weeds.
  12. The hooks are pretty decent. I've had a few rolled points but not too many.
  13. An 11/0 hook!! I would think a 5/0 or 6/0 would suffice.
  14. Another positive review for h20 square bills, especially the CRS model
  15. A 6.2 lber caught on a baby bush hog
  16. For that situation, I would usually opt for a mojo rig. Bassresource has a vid on youtube about the ins and outs of this rig.
  17. You should be feeling for any tics, change in pressure (i.e. more or less resistance or tension on the line), and anything that feels different in general!
  18. Based on advice gleaned here, I Always keep a finger on the line, whether fishing spinning gear or casting. I mainly fish weightless soft plastics, and my bite detection has improved tremendously since doing this. Oh, and florocarbon doesn't hurt either.
  19. It think they're walking where they should be casting.
  20. No, that is correct. Freeze water bottles so that you can keep the water from getting too hot. If your cooler has decent insulation, the pump alone will keep the water pretty cool.
  21. Nice fish man!! You are dead on about the visceral feeling of hooking into bass while standing in Their living room! There is nothing like hooking a nice one and having him swim all around you. It's a closeness with nature that even fishing in a kayak can't compete with.
  22. My plastics have always been fine from there, but the zman chatterbait skirts are consistently deteriorated.
  23. Hard to tell. At least 5 though. I think shimmy is pulling your chain.
