  1. Thanks for replies. BassClary that's what I was leaning towards (MH-F) since I already a usable MF that is getting the job done. Now I just have to figure out which rod on a budget of about $100 and preferably a 2 piece although it doesn't absolutely have to be. Thanks again.
  2. I know this gets beat to death but I was hoping to get some opinions. I have gotten into fishing more this summer and plan to continue to delve more into as time goes on. I have been using spinning gear so far (MF rod, 6’-6”) although I do have a baitcaster rod and reel that I picked up at a garage sale to start practicing with but I haven’t use it out yet. For the immediate future I would like to upgrade my reel and rod to something a little better than what I have now but I don’t intend on spending a small fortune. I’d just like to go up to the next step in quality of equipment. I am planning on going with a Pflueger President or Supreme (35 series) for the reel but am torn on whether I should get a MF or MHF rod to use right away and for tackle purposes. Next year I plan to purchase another set up of whichever I don’t buy right now so that I will have a M and MH rod. Of the two (MF or MHF) which do you think would be better all around for the time being? I mostly fish plastics (texas rig) and have started to get into jigs. I also have crankbaits (lip and lipless) and spinner baits but do not use them near as much as the plastics or what I intend to use the jigs. I have mostly fished local ponds but am trying to find a jon boat to get out onto some of OH's local lake and reserviors when Im not with someone who already has a boat. I am going to BPS this weekend to try to find a rod.
  3. I just started getting into fishing and got an abu cherrywood (MF) with cardinal 102 reel. It has served me well so far but am considering buying a new rod/reel or two. Instead of a combo I am going to buy the rod and reel separate. My question is for spinning reel, which size of reel is ideal for M rod. And which is ideal for a MH rod? I suppose we could use the Pflueger president as an example. Is the 6930 ideal for M rod? And a 6935 or 40 ideal for a MH rod? Is there a common rule to be applied? Am I correct in assuming I wouldn't want to use something like abu 102 on a MH rod?
