  1. Those were/are magic in so many different facets.
  2. Great advice here. The lake closest to me has a ton of pressure, and very skittish fish, this technique pays off when otherwise I might've gone home skunked.
  3. My curado 50e on my 6'8"mlxf LTB is my favorite setup. I do everything your looking to do with it and haven't considered other reels since. I'm sure there are better finesse baitcasters but not at 200 or less imo.
  4. Lightweight (1/8-3/8oz) thrown up stream tends to work best for me. A lot of line watching is involved and any reeling is to pick up the slack. Pop the lure up off the bottom and let it drift and sink, reel up slack, watch for movement and repeat. If this fails, I will upsize (3/8-3/4oz) and drag the bottom with a slow retrieve crawled across the rocks etc. This will get you hung up quite a bit, but if your not catching desperate times call for desperate measures. While I might upsize the jighead, I keep the trailer small, we're pulling teeth for bites at this point.
  5. I used a mojo bass mh for exactly what you listed and it's a good rod for those techniques. As for a second setup, like Brianmd said above, I'd look at what techniques you want to expand to. A good medium moderate fast or fast setup could cover a lot that your mojo won't do as well with.
  6. We fish a lot of slimy stuff and weeds around Wisconsin, and theres no way to prevent it that I've found. I'm guessing Florida is the same, just the nature of the beast. Jigs get mucky/weedy/slimy.
  7. Thanks for putting this together 00 mod!
  8. On 2nd look I agree it's not. I wonder if they pour for another company? The ribbon is different for sure.
  9. Kriet Tail Worm is what Big Bite calls it, just looking at their site. Just looking at the tail, I'd guess its a whoops.
  10. Welcome, good to see another Wisconsinite.
  11. Has there been any new talk about Kevin Love going to Cleveland? I think if they can get another athletic guy with some good size they could contend with what they have. It'd be a matter or what they have to give up to bring in a talent alongside LeBron. 7 years was more than sufficent to show you can't do it alone.
  12. Those are good general purpose setups. I'd take a look at what technique you enjoy most and look for a setup to specialize in it.
  13. Nice! I'm guessing it's not too bad on the battery either with LED?
  14. I agree with both of what you guys have said, and I'd guess its a combination of those things. For instance, if a angler is using a lure from a company that doesn't sponsor them, or if it's a pattern or color they think is key for that body of water, they wouldn't want it seen. Lund also makes a good point with hooks. Everyone that fishes for any length of time gets hooked, keeping the hooks out of the boat helps.
