Not to much action. Something else came up and I didn't get to go out as much as I would like. Water was still cold with probably 25 mph winds with gust up to 35. To tell you the truth I spent most of the time just getting use to the new boat. Had one bite on a jig and missed that fish. Weather looks decent towards the end of this week being close to or in the 60's. Might just have to call into work "sick" on Friday to make it a three day weekend.

Based on the photo I'm estimating that fry at over eight an a half courics.

Planning to hopefully hit the water by early/mid afternoon and fish till close to dark. Plan to have multiple lures tied. Everything from a jig and shakey for next to timber. To a jerkbait and crankbait. I'll let you know how it goes.

Since I have recently moved up to the big dogs (no more pulling battery out to charge after each trip) I have a question. How long can I expect it to take for the batteries to charge fully on a three battery Triton setup?

Tomorrow I will be taking ownership of a 2001 Triton TR21. Its in good shape. Sure the time might not be right with the way gas is but it took quite a bit of looking to find one I like at what I think is a decent price (it was under $14k). I will be like a kid waiting for Christmas tonight.

Imo a pro is someone whom makes the majority of their money by tournament fishing.

What are the extra cost someone might incur when buying a boat? This boat is not from a dealer but from a private party so I would think there wouldn't be taxes. All I can think of off the top of my head is trailer licensing. How much does this usually cost? Let me know what else I'm missing.

According to their website some of the 6'6" casting rods are one pieces and other 6'6" and 7' rods are two piece rods. Does anyone know why they did this? I was interested in getting a deep crankbait rod until I seen it was two pieces. I hate two piece rods.

What else can a guy fish on a weightless senko rod? Looking at possibly getting a 7'2" Cumara spinning rod that is a medium/ Extra Fast for weightless senko's and such.

Its right around 60 24/7 during the winter. Sometimes it can get to 55 also.

Right now I'm leaning towards either a weightless worm rod, a big crank rod, or a Carolina rig rod. Its going to be a tough choice. I'm leaning more towards the weightless worm or crank rod then the Carolina rig rod but I think thats only because I never fish a Carolina rig much.

Keep the suggestions coming. Looking to have my mind made up by the end of the weekend.

Looking at getting another combo setup. Can't decide and here is what I have so far. Spinning Crucial7'2"/Stradic ---Dropshot/shakey head A couple other older setups for odds and ends. Casting Crucial 7' m/Curado ---Cranks Crucial 7' mh/citica ---Spinnerbaits Cumara 7' mh/curado ---jigs, texas rigs, etc 6'6" flw series/citica ---topwater I was thinking about getting another Cumara setup mainly a 7'2"x-mh but not sure if that is needed. I fish some timber, brush, and grass but nothing thats majority thick. That and I think the regular mh might even handle that fine. Also thinking maybe a 7' mh for deep cranks? That way I could always have a crank tied on one rod and a jerkbait on another. Has anyone ever used a Crucial m or mh crank rod for jerkbaits? How did they work?

Has any tried the standout dropshot hooks? Thinking about trying some but have heard they don't have the best hookup ratio.

I once tried casting one of their shallow runner cranks on my baitcasting setup. The only thing I can say about that is that I got the holy grail of bird nest in my reel and ended up wasting about 1/2 spool of line. Now I use spin gear for casting them. ;D

Anyone know if Cabela's will be carrying those?

Just got done doing an lure by lure inventory on my main box. Surprising to find out that my shallow cranks(0-5') out number my medium(5-12') and deep(12'+) at probably 3 to 1. You know what that means Cabela's here I come!

What culling system do you use? Looking for first hand experiences. Thanks Looking for one that is durable, will last, and not frequently fall off the fish in the livewell.

Unfortunately you might just have to suck up that deduction off of your paycheck. We'll see. Sure it stinks and you may have been misinformed but thats life.

I seen the other day on people marking the depth on the bill or the weight on spinnerbaits with a permanent marker. I know its a small area but has any noticed if this has hurt the fish catching ability of the lure with that little bit of black and/or scent?

The Fiancee left early because she didn't feel good. All other friends are busy. One friend is at the bar listening to a band, but why go and spend the money when needing to save for a boat when I can have a cold one here. Already cruised all fishing sights. So this is left asked what does everyone do when they are at home and bored? Hoping the snagging hooks I just got done ordering is enough to hold off the baitmonkey for tonight because I really can't afford a viscous hit on the bank account.
