  1. Mike at DVT just fixed and cleaned a reel for me they do a great job, i would highly recomend them.
  2. strike king kvd perfect plastic chunk, or zoom super chunk both have worked well for me.
  3. the red label is what i would go with, i've never tried the p-line but the seaguar red label has stood up good on the lakes i fish and they have lots of rock, i've only had one fish break me off.
  4. black/blue green & green pumpkin
  5. Work on shakey head, drop shot etc. anything to do with a spinning rod, and also swimbaits
  6. 1. fish slow 2. Find the little subtle depth changes near deep water 3. Fish with a big jig or a shakey head
  7. you can get a shimano carado for $150 and you can't beat those reels for the money i have three of them and haven't had any problems, but i have had good things about the bps pro qualifier reels. I would say a good rod in the $100 dollar price range is the BPS carbonlite rods, i've got one i use for plastics and sometimes an extra jig rod it has pretty good sensitivity too.
  8. i really like the cabelas bags i can fit all my stuff in there and not have to bring two bags. mine is a little heavy but it's not uncomfortably heavy and it shouldn't be an issue as a non-boater.
  9. I would try some umbrella rigs, and like mentioned above jerkbaits on windblown banks, and football jigs around any of the rock shallow or deep
  10. What he said!!
  11. Those are some awesome pics!! Congrats on all those great fish
  12. nice fish congrats!! What did you catch it on?
  13. welcome to the site.
  14. I fish a fluke just like i do a jerkbait , jerking and pausing flukes are good to use this time of year i've had good success with the albino zoom fluke in the past. This fall the fish im catching are deeper than in previous years comin in 10-15 ft of water just about every fish i've caught have come in that range with a jig or crawdad colored crankbait
  15. Falcon lake for me. My dream trip.
  16. Rage chunks work good but i would have some rage craws for the bigger profile and just bite off the last section of the tail. The perfect plastics trailers by strike king and zoom super chunks are what i use if the fish won't hit the craws or in colder water.
  17. Went to cherokee this past week and had a pretty good week fishing the water temp was in the 70's the beginning of the week and dropped to the upper 60's after a cold front came threw mid week. The fish were hitting crankbaits pretty decent but i ended up catching most of my fish on a football jig in about 15-17 ft of water on two spots i found. I caught alot of 2 1/2 to 3 lber and had two brutes break my line one with a crankbait and one with a football jig. i was having decent success up shallow with a dt 10 in the red crawdad color but i ended up losing the two i had and just couldn't get them to bite another color. The football jig's i was using were green pumpkin in the strike king and another one they sell at a local tackle shop i can't remember the name of. The trailer was a zoom watermelon red chunk but the key thing seemed to be the chartruese jj's magic , it really did seem to make a difference when the water temp cooled mid week. I wanted to take more pics but i fished by myself most of the week and i never can seem to get good pics with me takin them, but here is one i caught that was 4.2 lb.
  18. Buckeye lures mop jigs and siebert outdoor os the only jigs I've used and i really love both but like everyone else said you just have to find one that works for you. There are alot of good jigs out there
  19. Either way its a hawg congrats on a awesome fish!!
  20. I've fished up around ironton ohio in the spring and a black buzzbait works really good
  21. welcome i'm from belfry ky. so we aren't to far apart
  22. luck e strike rick clunn jerkbaits aren't to bad a price, and they are really good jerkbaits
  23. crankbaits work very good in the fall.
  24. Black and blue jigs have caught me some good fish this year but pb&j is becoming a close second
