  1. Bump up 15 bucks and get one of them! AGH! I wish I had the money or I'd have both of them right now.
  2. Zoom, Reaction Innovations, Strike King, Rage Tail, Yamamato and Havoc are probably what I use the most.
  3. I just keep them in a plano box. I kind of group them together based on color/head shape, but there's no science to it. I always take trailers off when I'm done fishing.
  4. I have the gen 2 Revo S and the Lews Tournament SS. You can't go wrong with either but I would lean more towards the Tournament. Its smaller than my S (not sure how big the gen 3 is), but the Tournament palms nicely. I like that it has a dual braking system as well. Don't know if you're a lefty, but there's a 51e in the fleamarket right now for 140 that I would ****** up if I was you. I have one and its my favorite reel. It would be nice of you to buy so it will stop teasing me since I don't have the money for it right now too.
  5. There's also a Lews TP for 130. Another great reel at a great price.
  6. If I had the money I would've already got that 51e... I love the 50/51e's. I'd jump on that deal if I was you.
  7. Love the 50e. That said, I don't think you'd go wrong either way.
  8. Thick cover, I agree with the braid suggestions. I prefer FC but I don't fish anything super thick.
  9. x2 on the used e's. If not, IMO you cant go wrong with the revo or the citica
  10. For bottom contact presentations, I wouldn't go anything less than a $100 rod. Veritas, Compre and Mojo Bass are good options IMO. I have 2 Veritas' on sale for $70.00 in the fleamarket that are basically brand new if you're interested.

  12. I got a Lews Tournament SS. I think its a great reel so far. I feel like Lews is making a good name for itself so I would not hesitate to buy any of their products.
  13. Unless you find a good deal on something used for your jig/worm rod/reel I do not think you will find a good set up for that application under 130. BPS might have some decent combos for cranking around that price range, but for a jig/worm rod, you want to get the most sensitive rod you can afford. If I was you, I would just get one or the other and make sure you are getting something worth while and that will last. Most combos under 130 will be "disposable," meaning, once it goes bad, there is not much sense in repairing. My suggestion would be to put your money towards one combo in the 250-300 range as opposed to two different set ups.
  14. I agree with all of the above comments. I've never heard of it, and I think for a good reason...
  15. I love the 7 inch version. It has great action in the tail. I like to fish it on a light texas rig or shakey head and let the tail do the rest.
  16. Watermelon, june bug, green pumpkin, pumpkin, black, white or any other crazy name companies come up with that is close to those. I throw a lot of worms (all kinds), senko's, craws and brush hogs.
  17. x2. I would tell you to check out the NSCB spinnerbaits too, but I don't think TW carries them.
  18. Anything that I can drag on the bottom. Spinnerbaits and swimjigs are fun too.
  19. I loosen up the spool tension knob as much as I can without the spool moving side to side. That increases distance a lot. Also turn the brakes down as much as you can. Get to the balance of where you're comfortable without backlashing but having as few brakes on as possible.
  20. Beaver styles and brush hogs
  21. A MH-H/F-XF rod with a 6-7._:1 gear reel. Either braid or FC line depending on where you will be fishing, or braid + an FC leader. My advice, get the most sensitive rod you can afford for this application. You will need to be able to feel tiny ticks and changes in weight at the end of your line as jig strikes can be VERY subtle. I prefer rods 7' -7'5 but that's more personal preference than anything IMO. I have a Phenix M1 7'2H for heavier jigs (1/2oz +) and a Dobyns 702c for finesse jigs (mostly around 1/4oz). I'm having a rod built on a St. Croix SCIII blank for Christmas for jigs primarily 3/8oz and 1/2oz. I use these rods for other bottom contact applications as well.
  22. Very interesting. I'll have to look into one for myself. Thanks for the info. I always like to see the pictures of bass that try to eat something that's just as big/bigger than them too, haha.
  23. I jig fish all year. The winter is a great time for it IMO. The heaviest I'll go is 3/8 in the winter, but usually 1/4oz. I was using the Berkley Finesse Gripper Jig the other day with a RI Sweet beaver trailer the other day and it worked well. The light weight with the big skirt and trailer seemed to give it a slower fall, but my bites really came from twitching it around riprap.
  24. What is that lure?? That's massive. Also, very nice fish.
