  1. Do you ever catch small fish? Or even an average sized fish?? Or maybe this is average for you, haha. Nice catch!
  2. x2
  3. Budget will really determine where to go with suggestions. I'll tell you I love my Powell Endurance CB. Its the 6'9 MH/H.
  4. The biggest thing I pay attention to when I look for a rod is the specs (power and action). I can't tell you one time I bought a rod because it was a designated spinnerbait rod, worm rod, etc. I like a moderate action on my treble hook lures and a F-XF action on pretty much everything else. Also, ratings don't usually stay too consistent between different rod companies, or even with in different line ups from the same company. My best advice when looking for a new rod is to ask questions of the people that have used them before. They can tell you how it fishes, if its true to its power/action, etc., etc.
  5. Of all that I've tried I like Stick-O's the most so far. I have one pack of Dingers but I haven't really given them a chance yet. I don't think anything will really beat the original GYCB Senkos though. As far as other types of plastics, you can't go wrong with Zoom and Havoc if you ask me.
  6. 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2oz. Depends on what rod I'm usuing, how the fish are biting, and how I'm fishing the jig/trig.
  7. Bigger bass will definitely hit that 4'' worm. They have for me. I like to drop shot and I use the 4'' robo's often. DS works really well when the bite is extremely slow for me. I find it works better when I deadstick for a while and occasionally make a small hop or drag the rig back towards me.
  8. Running Sunline Sniper, 10# and 16#, 12# Yo Zuri, 50# PP and 8# Vicious. Sunline is by far my favorite.
  9. Either one should be fine. I would lean towards the Powell just because I like to stick with what I know works. Although, there have been a lot of good things coming about about 13
  10. Straight braid or straight flouro for me. I just don't like leaders for some reason.
  11. Maybe check out a Duckett but I would stick with the Powell. Some of the Endurance models are on sale for around 100 FYI.
  12. zoom fluke and strike king caffeine shad
  13. x2
  14. Zoom trick worms and yamamato kut tails mostly. I need to start putting craw style baits on them and see how they work for me.
  15. Casting reel - BPS Pro Qualifier Spinning reel - Pflueger President Spinning/casting reel - Shimano Compre I think that gives you the best bang for your buck, depending on your budget. I personally think the best bang for your buck rods are in the 150-200 dollar range
  16. Sub 200 - Phenix M1 Around 250 - Dobyns Champ
  17. my 2 cents, get either a 7ft+ MH or H Shimano Compre and spool it with either 12# Yo Zuri Hybrid or 50-60# braid (can't go wrong w/ Power Pro IMO) depending on the cover you will be fishing.
  18. Something 7' M/F or MH/F depending on the cover and lures you're fishing. I would lean more towards a MH, it will allow you to fish most applications well. 6.4 will let you cover most of the spectrum of techniques also. If you pair that reel with a MH/F rod you should be able to effectively fish jigs, t rigs, spinners and many more. Let us know your price range and we can start giving you specific rods to check out as well.
  19. I really like the M1. Can't speak for the Recon but as far I'm concerened you can't go wrong with either.
  20. Depending on what you prefer throwing, either a M/M crankbait rod, spinning or casting set up, or a M/F-XF spinning set up for finesse presentations. I would opt for the second since I think it is more versatile and, IMO, more fun.
  21. Check out the Shimano Compre. Its my favorite rod in the 100 dollar range. Also keep your eye on the flea market. You can find some killer deals there.
