I'd like to know a lot more info to give you a good answer. What rod are you using? Power and action? I just started cranking with braid on a MH/M rod and I love it. But I wouldn't think about using a F or XF rod with braid for cranking. I've been using braid for spinners for a while now. Also, what cover are you fishing? Rocks may not be a good idea for braid but you can simply tie on a fc or mono leader if need be. That will also help determine the # test to use if you decide to switch to mono or fc. If its open water, going down to 10# could be fine. If you're around heavy cover you may go anywhere from 15-25# line. As for me, I use braid on everything now. I sometimes tie on a fc leader. The only time I use mono is for C-rigging when I want my lure to float off the bottom more.

This. I'll add the Endurance 723 in there too. That's my do it all rod. Senkos to spinnerbaits no problem. I love my Powells.

T and C rig. I've heard guys use them as jig trailers as well. I haven't messed around with that yet though. I picked up 3 packs at the same price at wally world.

I've switched all my set ups to braid. Even my cranking set up. If you need to tie on a leader, go for it. I don't have to very often.

I like a rage craw on a 4/0 EWG hook w/ a 1/4 or 3/16 oz sinker.

I use both 832 and PP. I haven't used the PP Slick version but I have not complaints with the original. Either one would be fine in my opinion.

I REALLY like braided line on my spinning reels now. I feel like its much more manageable and I haven't gotten any knots since I switched. Just tie the fc leader on the end. That should keep you from running into problems like you just experienced.

You'd be surprised. I've caught dinks on 8 and 10 in worms before.

jig, swim jig and a squarebill would be my suggestions. Add weightless senko's (wacky and trig) in there too if thats not included in your plastic selection.

I'm sure it will be fine. I use 20# and 30# 832. 20# is on spinning gear and I tie on a fc leader sometimes, use it for shakey heads and it works fine.

The Recon is 8'' and I believe the Anaconda comes in 7'' and 10''. I'd be looking at the 7'' whenever I get the Anacondas. I really haven't had any trouble getting them straight on the hook. They just wind up tearing after a fish or two. But, I know I will catch a fish or two on each worm.

How would you say they are different? I mostly Trig the Recons.

Hey guys. I've been using the Rage Tail Recon Worm and I really like it a lot. Only problem I've run into is its a little like Senko's IMO. Catches fish but doesn't last long. So, I was wondering how they compare to the Rage Tail Anacondas? Is there a noticeable difference? The body on the Anaconda's seem to be a little more rugged. Or should I just bite the bullet and keep buying the Recon's b/c they do such a good job catching fish? Thanks!

I like XT the most of anything I've used. Never used any higher end stuff but XT does just fine.

I have the Endurance 695cb. Its a great squarebill/lipless crank rod. I have used mine for mid depth divers and it handles those fine. Im sure the Max will do a good job with what you want to use it for.
