  1. two evergreen rods
  2. Personally, I'd rather have 6 $250 rods, but that's just me. Really though, just get what rods you enjoy fishing and feel like fits your fishing needs the best.
  3. Quality over quantity for me as well. I fish from a yak though so it doesn't make sense for me to have 10+ rods (I have 6). Not that there is anything wrong with the mid-range (which I agree is relative) or even a $50 rod, but once I got my first higher end rod, I eventually wound up selling all my 'low' to 'mid-range' rods for the higher end rods. I could have saved a lot of money just buying the more expensive gear.
  4. Bps pq/carbonlite or keep your eyes on the flea market
  5. Recon worm
  6. Brian doesn't know what he's talking about. Trade all your rods to me for ugly stiks. Only kidding. Looks good to me. Very similar to my line ups, which Brian, among others, helped me put together thus far. Enjoy your rods!
  7. Generally you'll use the bb1 series for chucking heavier lures where as the tp will be more suited for lighter weights. There is a noticeable step up in performance from the tournament to the tournament pro. Not that the tournament is a bad reel, but you can tell when you are using the tp
  8. Caffeine shad
  9. What will you be using the reel for? That will make the difference in what you decide between the bb1 pro and, what I think you should be considering as well, the tournament pro.
  10. I rarely throw frogs, but it's on a Dobyns champion 735c with a lews tournament pro spooled with 50# braid. I have a couple booyah pad crashers
  11. I have a Dobyns 705cb. I just love the way they balance and feels in my hands. It is also a sensitive rod and I can handle many treble hook presentations, though there are other rods that are capable of that.
  12. 704. I use my 744dx with jigs 1/4 to 1/2 oz. I usually put the 1/2oz on my 735 but can throw them on the 744. If you're planning on 1/4 and 3/8 I'd be looking at the 704
  13. Mostly stick worms, trick worms, Recon worm, crankbaits, and some jigs. Also whatever terminal tackle is appropriate
  14. 30# braid, 12# mono
  15. Still haven't caught a fish. Thanks snow, grad school, and broken foot....
  16. Used to have a b/c set up I would throw a shakey head on, but I've since sold it and only use spinning now.
  17. I like my Dobyns Champion 705cb, but like iabass said, you would have to wait until a sale. I also really liked my Powell Endurance 695cb. I don't think they make it anymore, but I wouldn't hesitate to try another one of their rods. You may also want to check out the St. Croix Avid crankbait rods. There are a lot of people that really like them.
  18. That's a double win!
  19. That's a good deal
  20. Isn't that the best! Can't have one without the other. Well I guess you could, but that's not doing anyone any good.
  21. I think that would a well spent $80
  22. I prefer a t-rig, but I throw a shakey head a lot
  23. You sure you guys aren't posing with the same fish? Only kidding. Sounds like I need to start throwing a 3/4oz more often. Nice fish!
