  1. i have tried XPS, hated it. Red isn't the quality I want, that stuff is super stiff.
  2. The last few years I have used Sunline Sniper, it has worked good for me. Have very few breakoffs, wish it was a touch more limp, but that may be the tradeoff for durability. Any other fluorocarbons out there I should look at and why is it better then Sniper (quality or price)? I know my old partner used Invisx, its priced about the same as Sunline and he seemed to have more breakoffs.
  3. I have had good success with these three, what about you guys? KVD Magic MMIII Bold Blue Gill
  4. Anyone use hammered blades or like them better then a normal blade?
  5. What are your favorite skirt and blade colors?
  6. I will be honest, I own three of these now and I am thinking of selling some of my Megabass to get more. These rods are killer. The purple and yellow color isn't the best on the grey blank, but looks don't catch fish. They are more sensitive then my Orochi XX rods and the microwave guides are the real deal. I can throw a bait 15-25% further with these. I just can't believe I like a Rod this much that u can buy right now for $120!
  7. How thick is the wire on the Owner 5133? Is it a light wire hook? How do you like it compared to the Rebarb?
  8. When buying a jig, is hand tied jigs a big deal to you? will you spend an extra $1 or $2 for hand tied? Do you only buy banded? It really doesn't matter to you?
  9. I use a 1/0 light wire for all of my roboworms. I use mostly 6" and 4" Fats. I think you could easily go 2/0 with the 6". But I love the light wire, you never miss a bite.
  10. i saw that jig mold, my only issue with it was the keepers. how does it hold a jig skirt on? can you send me a pic of how you modded it to accept a wire keeper? where do you get your wire keepers from. I am from Ohio, so i have the same need as you for a finesse flipping jig.
  11. I have looked at Do-it and can't seem to find something in the vein I am looking for. What places can I look at for jig molds? I am looking for something in the vein of the Boss Heavy Cover (with smaller hook) or Ike Mini flip style head. More of a compact oval style head that isn't an Arkie, more of a blunt front on it.
  12. Has Anyone used one much? what are your thoughts? what conditions would you use it in? seems to be a little different then a wart.
  13. Do you guys think you get more bites drop shotting with a nose hook/texas rig or wacky style? Or does one perform better for you under certain conditions then another?
  14. I have a tournament next Saturday, no off limit time. I have three days off of work (Wed-Friday), but only two of those days to fish. Let’s assume the weather pattern is pretty steady next week. I believe this tournament is going to be won offshore. What days would you fish and how would you do it? Spend a good bit of scanning the first day and then do more fishing on the second day to see what of those spots produce. Do some scanning and fishing each day, with maybe a little more fishing to “find” quality fish the first day and more scanning similar areas the next day Do equal amounts of fishing and scanning each day Then what days do you suggest I fish. Wednesday and Thursday and let the fish rest Friday (even though I will shake most off), or fishing Thursday and Friday and let Friday be a day of more scanning so I have a really good idea where the schools may be the next day?
  15. I am a huge Oakley fan. In order of how I like my Oakley lenses for fishing. 1. Titanium Iridium Polarized 1. Shallow Blue Polarized 3. Bronze Polarised G580 Costas are great lenses too, the glass gets tough to wear sometimes because of weight, but they are bullet proof. Costas are great glasses.
