  1. top water senko eater. watermelon red flake again
  2. took a 5 inch green/watermelon red flake senko weightless in about 3 foot of water.
  3. Welcome my fellow Cali angler. Hope you get some biggins this summer.
  4. Before I wind up posting it in the wrong area, I would like to ask where I should go about doing a weekly local report on the various ponds I frequent here in Sacramento.
  5. One of the ponds is not diveable whatsoever, the bass have parasites in their mouths, I am not willing to bet that they dont like human flesh.. Now the other ones I have caught the 9 and 8 lbers out of is a possibilty. it has been getting a bit merky though. what about a countdown rapala with the hooks either removed or covered completely?
  6. i would assume you guys know the depth of what you put these into, so here is my main question.. how would a shore angler know what depth they are casting to?I am a pond fisherman and I have always wondered how a shore angler would go about getting a very accurate depth reading from shore.
  7. I typically use the existing hole from the hook as a pilot hole. I also ground down the hook on my scale to a smaller size for ease of entry and to reduce hole size. If the hook spot is not a good spot, I go through the thin part of their under jaw, between gills and a inch or two back from the lip.. this shouldnt effect eating or swimming, it has never bled at all when I puncture it.
  8. I have been considering a short move to arizona for strictly fishing. I am in north cali, but I would imagine lunkers wouldnt be hard to find in heat like you guys have. Would it be worth moving down for a few months from say march to october 2013?
  9. Thanks guys. I will be out this whole weekend hitting the ponds hard in the heat wave. Hopefully I keep my trend of giant pond bass after another. lol we will see though. I hope to expand my knowledge about hard baits mainly here. it seems like there are a ton of people here who like a ton of different things which will be good to extend my knowledge with. thanks again guys.
  10. Thanks for the warm welcome sir.

  12. I am a fairly new fisherman, about three full years under my belt. Primarily bass, a little catfishing. I fish small lakes and ponds. My little sister actually introduced me to the sport in a very very small private pond in Granite Bay,CA. I caught a big 5 lber that first day and I was hooked. Later that year I was injured by being blind sided in my car, and thus became a more serious shore angler with all the time on my hands. I am always trying to learn more and more, I have caught bass from all around my area, folsom lake, amador lake, mather lake, verona slough, sac river, but I do the best at ponds that are not very fished. and are somewhat unknown to most around me. Anyway, I hope to learn and talk with some fine fishermen here. Cheers. May 15th 2012 8lbs July 10th 2012 just shy of 9 lbs.
