  1. Thank heavens...I was worried there weren't enough tackle companies out there.
  2. This is the one I use: http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Extreme-Qualifier-370-Camo-Tackle-Bag-or-System/product/10231462/ The side and front compartments can hold a lot of plastics.

  4. Much like the other respondents to this question: Cleaning and organizing of equipment, stockpiling of lures, map and lake research of lakes I have and haven't fished before, watching fishing videos and reading on the subject, drinking, NFL (though now that my Bears are out will be an empty activity). One addition to this year is research on an angling kayak I'm thinking of buying in the coming months.
  5. We have a no presents for adults rule in my family so I got myself a pile of tackle, and a badger brush and razor. The most important gift was simply being able to sleep in Wednesday and Thursday.
  6. Megabass Vision 110 if money is on the line but I also don't mind the Rapala Husky Jerks, though as others have said they do suffer from castability issues.
  7. If it's for someone relatively new I would recommend Better Bass Fishing by Robert Montgomery. If you recognize the name it's likely from his ongoing work in B.A.S.S.'s BASS Times.
  8. I have a Caius and while I don't mind it I would pick up a BPS Extreme or Pro Qualifier before I bought another one.
  9. People are going to laugh but the best cheaper BC I've ever used: BPS Extreme.
  10. Great stuff! I don't get WFN so I haven't been able to watch it in some time. We'll have to get you up to northern Ontario at some point.
  11. I would argue that late season bass fishing would make you a better ice fisher. At any rate, better things to fish for in the winter then bass.
  12. White or chartreuse spinnerbaits wacky rigged Senkos - green pumpkin with black flecks Ye olde fashioned Rebel Pop-R
  13. Never had an issue buying stuff from Japan on eBay either.
  14. Welcome to the forum and be sure to share stories about fishing on that side of the Atlantic!
  15. I pretty much only use Sufix 832 braid but when I do venture to mono I tend to use Trilene XT. Cheap and it works well.
  16. Name brands for me -- I find them to be better made/more reliable in general -- but I have to say one of the best BC reels I own is a BPS branded reel.
  17. Try a wading belt. While it doesn't eliminate lower back pain I find that wearing one does reduce it.
  18. Nice bit of work there.
  19. Normally over the winter I go over my gear and clean/repair anything that needs it... except I was bored two weeks ago so I did most of it then. Go slowly mad... read fishing magazines... go slowly mad.
  20. Braid for everything and I don't use leaders.
  21. I'm reasonably happy with my gear so I don't see myself adding either to my set-ups or my tackle. I think the plan next year is to work on some techniques that I'm not particularly good at: flipping and drop shotting.
  22. There's also APS-TV. All Japanese...I have no idea what they're saying but it's fishing.
  23. You can find some episodes of the Scott Martin Challenge on his YouTube channel. I think FLW has some content on their website as well.
