  1. To me it's Minn Kota no questions asked. The motorguides I have had experience with have both been loud and a lot harder to turn than the Minn Kotas. I have had trouble with MotorGuides in weeds, but have not had a Minn Kota in the same type of vegetation so I cannot compare there.
  2. How do these "pros" get away with not having to title the boat? Does the dealer leave it in their name and register it?
  3. That right there would have been a much better first answer than only saying, "save your money, buy a Shimano." To each their own I guess.
  4. He directly ask for opinions on PQ's, not on a Curado or Chronarch. Is it really that hard to give the man what he ask for? Obviously his mind is already made up about Shimano so why would LMG even mention them?
  5. I know this has already been stated by the OP, but is it really that hard to answer the simple question he ask? As soon as I read the first post I knew why he specified that this thread was about PQ mods and not Shimano fan boys....And that it was directly related to you. There are different strokes for different folks, so why do you always, and I mean ALWAYS, try and push everyone towards Shimano? I can confidently say that I will never own a Shimano reel because of you and the way you try to force their product on people. Rant off.
  6. I have ran a 45lb thrust trolling motor on high for well over 1 hour without running the battery all the way down. The battery was a 29 and it wasn't brand new either. I broke a steering cable roughly 4.5 miles away from the ramp...It wasn't a fun day.
  7. I don't crazy tight on them or anything. I make sure that it isn't too tight or as you stated it is hard to pull the line under itself. I also want to be able to push any imperfections around to hide the gaps that may have been there. The epoxy is going to do most of the holding.
  8. My vote goes to the "Blind Date".
  9. I'm sorry to clutter the thread up, but I can't stand it when people do this. The OP simply ask which one of the two did people like better, not what line would everyone recommend. I have not used the P-Line, but I have used Yo-Zuri and I really like it. I sprayed it down with some KVD L & L and it gets my vote so far. I only have one complaint about it and that is that it is too hard to break off. I put 15lb. test on my heavy jig/t-rig rod and I can hardly break off even when I'm trying to.
  10. And if you want to cast even further with less effort you could always take the reel apart, clean the bearings, and then lightly oil them instead of having grease/thick oil in them.
  11. You still didn't give any more information as to what type of fishing you will be doing with the rod. Give a few more details and you will get better recommendations.
  12. Nobody else has an opinion on this matter?
  13. I always slide the hook in to the plastic right before the bend and then I come out.
  14. Thanks for getting it fixed quickly. I just placed my order and can't wait to get them in!
  15. I'm trying to add 1/4 oz. Arky Head jigs to my cart and I keep getting this message from paypal...
  16. I have a dilemma on my hands. My birthday is coming up and I'm wanting to add a cranking setup to what I already have. I will be throwing crankbaits that run from 8' deep all the way to 18'+. The two options that I am looking at are a 2nd generation Revo Winch paired with a 7' 6" Veritas MH Winch rod, or a Lew's Tournament MG Speed Spool (5.4:1) paired with a Lew's Tournament Speed Stick 7' cranking rod. Right now the Lew's setup has a $30 rebate through Tackle Warehouse, but I was really wanting a rod a little longer than 7'. What would be everyone's pick between these two setups? If anyone has any suggestions that are under $250.00 please list them and why you like them. I have to admit I really like Abu stuff, but trying other products is not out of the question.
  17. I have fished it weightless in Lake Okeechobee before, but would definitely try out the screw lok kill weighted hooks, and also the jig head as you mentioned.
  18. Coming from the man who fishes Shimano....Who I believe decreased quality and increased price. Does that make Shimano the "Bigger Loser"?
  19. I like to call the e-clip and c-clips Jesus clips, because when they go flying you say, "Oh Jesus where did that go?"
  20. Get some Kevin VanDam Line & Lure Conditioner to help cast a little farther and reduce the number backlashes/possible backlashes.
  21. It's expensive, but there's always titanium.
  22. Yes, that is correct. It will probaly be only one notch like you said. I have an old trolling motor transducer that does the same thing...It only displays a flat bar across the top, and nothing else. I believe it is finally new tranducer time for it.
  23. I have this same unit installed on a 16' Nitro. My transducer is mounted on the starboard(right) side of the boat, it looks like mine may be a little lower than yours, and it looks like yours needs to be rotated more so that the skinny end is pointed a little more towards the ground.
  24. This thread makes me very jealous!
  25. HaHa, spooling machine that's funny. I didn't even know there was such a thing. Surely you can be semi creative and come up with some sort of way to hold the line and still get it in the spool relatively easy. If not, I would be willing to bet there are some youtube videos out there that would help you get going in the right direction.
