    Ky Lake

My friend went down to fish that tournament this weekend as a coangler. Out of kuttawa boat ramp. His boat partner's wife had an emergency, soooo he didn't have a partner. His brother fished the tournament as a coangler. They fished plastics all day, starting where the shallows dropped off to deeper water. They found them on the break in the afternoon. I think he said 23 lbs won the tournament. $4900 A coangler had over 20 lbs won $2500 There was several bags weighed in over 20 lbs. His brother won $160 with what he weighed in, sorry I don't remember what the weight was. He was throwing plastic craws. Hopes this helps ,but another month the topwater should come alive.
  2. Frown on me then. Because I catch and release. But,,,, if I would happen to catch a state record---(even if its 2 ozs little lone 2 lbs) -be it a largemouth,smallmouth,carp,perch,bluegill....whatever it may be. I will have it certified if all possiable to be released alive. but if it has to perish so be it. I don't see how people can say that they would release it, without having caught it yet? You really don't know what you would do in that situation till it happens. Just my own opinion.
  3. I fish it from a boat
  4. what do you think of the huddleson? is it worth the price?
  5. I have used jigs. I caught my biggest on spinnerbaits and senko's
  6. C ome to think of it ,I don't think I have tried a frog in the pit.
  7. I hold the line sometimes when I'm fishing really slow or anchored. Sometimes I even stich with the line if I am anchored. I have gotten shunked when I'm in the front of the boat as well as being in the back of the boat lol.
  8. OK, I started fishing some goverment leased coal mine pits last year. (1) The water is super clear. (2) The pit is about one mile long and 100 yards wide. (3) The pit has weeds all around the lake, about 15 ft. out. (4) The pit has a depth of 70 feet in the middle. (5) It has small islands cropping up along one side. (6) It doesn't seem to have much structure in it that I have found. (7) Its has several rock cropping about a foot or 2 under the water. (8) I've never been on the lake without the wind blowing, seems to be a natural funnel. (9) It does have a bunch of old tires in the north end, mostly in shallower water. When you first see this lake or pit It reminds you of Bass Heaven. I have fished this pit several times last year, day and night. You can have a fun filled day around the weeds with a floating worm. Anywhere between 1 to 3 lbers. I know for certain that there are plenty of lunkers in this lake, just can't seem to hook up with them. Any suggestions?
  9. In my book. nothing better than a good old plain baloney sandwich, bottled water and maybe some chips.

    Buffs

How many of you wear buffs, outlaw sashes, neck covers, tubes or what ever they call them protect to your neck ,ears and face from the sun while fishing? I have been thinking about purchasing one. Any suggestion?
  13. Kentucky res.= $20 If you fish peabody = $15 seniors over 65 = $5
  14. How many of you have read where your locator sonar puts off a ping that bass can hear??? how many turns off their locator?
  15. This winter I have read so many different articles on ways on how to winter bass fish. Some say jigs slow, some say fast. Some say cranks slow, others say med, then others say fast. I've read where the only bait some would use is a spinnerbait. Seems to me that after all of my readings. I've come up with the conclusion that winter bass will bite on just about anything that you throw at them at a given time. I know that the area that your in makes a big difference. I'm in Western Kentucky, weather changes all the time, sometimes hour to hour lol. What is your opinion?
