  1. I fish shallow water, 10 feet or less, 90 percent of the time, so i dont really know what to fish when it comes to deeper water. Id like to be able to expand my range of fishing a little bit more. ive seen the pros use crankbaits, spoons, football jigs, etc. but im not sure what brand and stuff like that. could someone tell me what they like to use for deep water. id prefer something that can get down to the bottom.
  2. Rapala skitter walk, nothin like seeing them slam it. Gets the blood pumping
  3. I usually fish with soft plastics, but only because i only own 3 hardbaits. I have 2 skitterwalks, which i have had success with, and a yo zuri swimbait. What are some other hardbaits that you guys use that work fairly well. If you could tell me brand, name, and type that would help for buying it. Also the cheaper the better.
  4. Thanks, i got a bass pro shops extreme tournament series rod and reel with 10lb braid on it yesterday. Its a 6'10" MH rod and its pretty nice. It only took a few hours to get used to the transition from a spinning reel to a baitcaster, and i got two today on it. Dwtaylor your right and this rod really helps prevent that. They are swimming really slow and not biting much. You gotta hit it morning or late afternoon to get some agressive behavior. But yea im happy with my new rod
  5. I fish it texas rigged with no weight and use a somewhat fast jigging retreival method. If your doing it right it should stay anywhere from the top to about 2 maybe 3 feet deep. I have had success all year round and in all types of stuctural areas. I have caught at least 25 largemouths on them ranging from a half a pound to 8 pounds
  6. Thanks. Im gonna get a 7' MH clarus so i shouldnt run into any problems with that
  7. Can somebody tell me some different styles of rigging for senkos and zoom trick worms and how to rig it? I already use wacky rigs and texas rigs but those are the only two methods i use.
  8. Does anyone know a good spot near indian river county?

  10. Pearl zoom super flukes with no weight. Easy to rig up and easy to pull. Plus its motion attracts bass and it reflects sunlight when it is bright out.
  11. Try to sight fish as best you can. There not going to work hard to get food, so put it in front of their face.
  12. MBernardez, get a few packs of zoom super flukes in pearl/ watermelon red and reel them jerking the rod tip every few seconds. I kill them doing this. And size 3/0 straight worm hooks work best. I
  13. I would recommend a 7' medium clarus. There made for river fishing but there pretty sensative to hits and really good for setting hooks. And i would reccomend a frog for areas with lillipads and a zoom super fluke in white or watermelon red with no weight. Both of those will swim near the top and are very good this time of year
  14. Thanks i thought a medium too. And under normal sircumstances i wouldnt use 10 lb either, but the lakes i fish in have a good amount of weed that breaks your line if you dont have heavier line. Also i used to use 4 lb but every time i hit a big fish it would snap.
  15. yea thats basically true for me. However, i put 10 lb test on my UL and 1000 reel combo and it works suprisingly well without twisting up and hardly ever breaks. So the only problem for me is hook setting. But i would like a rod that can set better and spincasters are better for casting and pulling artificials i think.
