  1. My top three choices are "Prop Baits" like a Devils Horse, Wood Choppers, and Torpedoes, all are ideal for water with a chop with "Stained to Muddy Water"...
  2. "South Saudy Creek" and "North Saudy Creek" The "Grass" will be about 15" to 22" off the bottom and starting to turn "Green".. Both "South Saudy Creek" and "North Saudy Creek" will produce Largemouth at this time of the season. Just flip flop between these two areas... Both of these are are well protected from the "WINDS"...They have every thing for what ever type of fishing that you would like to do... Fish the 6 feet to 10 feet range in and around the "Vegetation"...
  3. Lake Guntersville February 26th. Thru March 3rd, 2018... My choice would be February 26th 2018 thru March 3rd 2018... This time period is the "First" or "Second" Major Largemouth Bass Spawning Period. It maybe the "First" because it has been a "Mild Winter"... The "Grass" will be about 12" to 18" off the bottom and starting to turn "Green".. Both "Browns Creek" and "Siebold Creek" will produce Largemouth Bass all the time. Just flip flop between these two areas... They have every thing for what ever type of fishing that you would like to do... Fish the 6 feet to 10 feet range in and around the "Vegetation"...
  4. Booyah Buzz 3/8 Oz. in White/Chartreuse Shad and Strike King Swinging Sugar 3/8 Oz. in Super Chartreuse...
  5. Does the Ultrex have smooth steering at the foot pedal or is it hard to control like a Xi5? Does anyone have an Ulterra connected to a Hummingbird Graph? I am interested to hear how it works. Is the MK not Lowrance compatible?
  6. When "Vertical Dropshot Fishing" the weight is making constant contact with the bottom as much as possible... Such as in "Dead Sticking"... On a taunt line you can feel the "Pressure Bite" much better in my opinion... Using both "Fluorocarbon Line" and "Braided Line" you can feel much better when you have a light pressure bite... I tend to use this technique when I am fishing in water 20 feet or more... This is why I use Use both "Fluorocarbon Line" and "Braided Line"...
  7. Yes I do that also, it's much quicker and easier that way... I read a article a few years ago that was talking about how to camouflage the bright colored braided lines and he said to mark from the weight to 20 feet of line so that it isn't seen by the fish.
  8. My set up for "Vertical Dropshoting" is different than "Horizontal Dropshotting"... I have covered this in a earlier thread... "Vertical Dropshoting" for me consists of Sunline Super FC Sniper 7lb, using a 7 to 8 foot leader tied to Sunline SX1 Braided Line Hi-Vis Yellow 12lb... For "Horizontal Dropshot" fishing I use Sunline SX1 Braided Line Hi-Vis Yellow 16lb with out any leader... I use a "Dark Green Marker" on the line at 12" intervals and then fill in other the spaces with a "Black a Marker on the "Yellow Spaces" that are left.
  9. I have always used Simms clothing for summer and winter... They have top quality products...
  10. In a "OPEN WATER" situation you should not have a issue... Please check this "LINK" out it gives you a very good starting point on line size and fishing lures... Should I go with 40 or 65? Or somewhere in between? We at another site strongly suggest focusing your frog and toad fishing at 50 lb test. We like 40 lb test for when you need to make super long casts to cover relatively sparse weedbeds that don’t pose much threat to losing fish. The smaller diameter will add a couple extra feet to your casts which will let you cover a lot more water. Use 65 when fishing closer wood or docks. 50 lb test is the ultimate in-between size that will work just about everywhere and in any situation. http://www.another site/blog/fishing-line-guide/
  11. The three colors that I like the best are Black Silver, Chartreuse Pearl and Pearl White... These colors cover the majority of the water colors that I fish... Try using different colors to see what works for you... Check the PRIME LOCATIONS such as along river channel ledges, sunken islands, points and other good sub-surface structures... You can troll or cast this lure , it is very versatile... The lures come with two color styles, "Flashy" and "Slick"... The 3/16 Oz. may dive to 11 feet on 6 pound fluorocarbon fishing line... The bait has a internal sound chamber with glass beads... The hooks are Mustad Ultra Points...
  12. Megabass Dark Sleeper Swimbait... Developed to target fish holding tight to bottom structure, the Megabass Dark Sleeper offers overwhelming realism and an enticing action like only Megabass swimbaits can. Fitted with a low center of gravity weight, which allows it to deliver a stealthy, lifelike presentation as a bottom bouncing swimbait, it also features a soft fin material that is molded entirely around the top hook and instantly collapses when a fish strikes to ensure solid hooksets. The fin guarded hook also allows the Dark Sleeper to penetrate through gnarly cover and deflect potential snags. Made from ultra tough yet soft plastic that gives it the ability to withstand a tremendous amount of abuse, its supple paddle tail provides a very natural kicking action as well - even at slow crawling retrieve speeds - as it moves in and out of heavy cover to induce strikes from the most wary of fish. Available in one-of-a-kind airbrushed paintjobs, the Megabass Dark Sleeper is definitely a swimbait that should be in every anglers' arsenal. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Megabass_Dark_Sleeper_Swimbait/descpage-MBDSLP.html
  13. This is what I have used for a very long time... They work very well... https://www.amazon.com/Lunker-City-5-Inch-Arkansas-10-Pack/dp/B0043F9554 http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lunker_City_Fin-S_Fish/descpage-LCFSF.html
