  1. Yes it is, I've spoken to your husband about it on another forum I stole the name from his threads over there.
  2. 10" Zoom Monster Worm T-Rig weightless.
  3. Caught this guy today around 3pm off a point in the dead sea. Brought her home on a ultra light spinning setup w/ 6lb fluroclear the fight was on! Good thing I had a net on board to boat her. I just purchased a Rapalla digital scale to with the stainless hook. I couldn't figure out where to put the hook and didn't want to keep the fish out of the water long so I release her without weighing. Anyone give me a solid guess on this one? Also some advice as to where to put the hook of the scale? I assume to gill plate but I've never even held a fish by the gills so I'm uncertain, I plan on buying the clamp addon so I don't have to deal with that and less risk of hurting the fish. Same fish in both pics different angles.
  4. I just installed a Lowrance Elite 4x DSI $199 from Bass Pro on the bow of my boat. I to am doing what your doing buying piece by piece and I figured I'd be spending more time looking for structure and fish at the bow trolling than I would be at the console driving the outboard so I went with that first. It's an amazing little device for seeing structure and such but I have yet to get used to spotting fish on it.
  5. I had success this Saturday in between thunderstorms docking hiding in my truck and going back when it clears. I find that after rain if the sun starts shining they seem to get very active and slow down when it clouds up again if another storm is rolling in.
  6. I love using those to. I recently purchased some 10" Rage Tail Anacondas and it looks like they may be replaceing the Zoom Ol' Monsters in my box in the future Give it a go. NICE FISH btw!
  7. The Abu Garcia Black Max combos can be found as low as $70. It's a great starter baitcaster reel!
  8. What brand are you using? I will have to try some for my heavier spinning setups.
  9. Line twist and such with fluro above 6 lb. Not sure if it's brand specific I was just googleing for some info before I made this thread. However ever since I switched to the San Diego Jam knot that Loop mentioned above, I've landed 4 fish without a retie without any snapping yet. After each fish I give the line a good tug to make sure it holds.
  10. Thanks I will try this knot instead it seems much easier to tie than the Double Uni.
  11. Well I prefer fishing weightless T-Rigs on spinning reels and have read that fluro above 6lb causes problems on spinning reels. I have it on an ultra light setup with 6lb being the maximum it's made to handle. I've never had problems lifting fish with the line on 6lb mono which is why this kind of threw me for a loop. What's the reason for recomending retieng after every fish if the line checks out to be ok? I also read that fluro tends to cut itself at the knot when enough pressure is put on the knot but wasn't really sure what to make of that. I'm assuming this is why you recommend to retie. I will try picking up some 8 or 10lb for my larger spinning setup tomorrow and hopfully wont have this problem. Is Fluro known for breaking when picking a fish out of the water? It happened to me nearly back to back after retieng which I found strange after catching about 5 fish on the first tie.
  12. T-rigged weightless I have found the most success.
  13. When they arent biting top water fish under the surface.
  14. I recently started using some 6lb P-Line fluroclear and the line is great as far as it's invisibility properties and I attribute it to catching more fish using weightless texas rigged plastic worms. However, I've been tieng on 2/0 BP EWG hooks using the palomar knot and snapped 2 fish off that were only around 1-2 lbs right at the hook trying to thumb them while lifting them out of the water by the line. The fish would shake and SNAP goes the line from I believe the knot. I know this is probably bad practice but in the spur of the moment I tend to do it not wanting to lose the fish. I absolutely hate leaving hooks in fish and have gotten disheartened on this Fluro line but don't want to give it up being I feel it produces more fish. I did a little searching and see that some say you should use the double uni knot w/ fluro instead of the palomar knot. I'm going to try that and hopfully not snap off anymore fish at the boat. I'm assuming that the line broke in those 2 occasions right at the knot. Has anyone else had any experience with these types of issues? Is it the brand line that I'm using? Is the palomar knot simply just no good with Fluroclear? Any suggestions for other knots?
  15. Jitterbugs are my go to lure for night time. Honestly havent even tried anything else really but I should. Had one last night that hit so hard nearly took the rod out of my hand and snapped the 6lb mono. I'm wondering if it was a lunker, a snapping turtle, or possibly a giant pickrel.
  16. Caught this guy in about 3 ft of water around Sundown using a jointed black jitterbug. It's a tough lake to fish in the heat of the summer with the weeds fully grown.
