  1. Ive fished rodman a couple times last yr and ran into some issues in the summer heat! I did really well fishing rattle traps around the stump fields in the spring but no luck at all in the summer, im guessin the fish probably move into the channel that rodman has during the summer, i bet if you find a spot near the stump fields in the channel and used a deep crank you may have some luck! I know that Rodman is known for huge bass though so i know they are in there! the bigger ones are usually caught on wild river shiners (which are 6-12in) and will run you about $1 a apiece at the local bait shops! Hope this info helps you land a lunker! Good LUCK!
  2. Beware I've been kicked out of the Law school pond twice! It's owned by a properties owners association that doesnt allow fishing or boating and the law school and business park have roving security! i tried to go through all the channels to get legal permission to fish there with no luck! apparently its private property even though no signs are posted. lucky for me though i met this amazing girl that was a student there so i got to go a few rimes with no problem because the school security allows students to be there and fish and she was a student so they didnt bother us!
  3. I'm stationed at mayport and have Bass fished the lake a few times from the bank with no luck... But I have heard that there are some nice bass in it! im not sure if you can put a john boat in or not but i wouldnt see the problem i know you can rent paddle boats from the lil marina there. Be advised that the water is brackish which ive never had much luck bass fishin but i know ppl that have! Good luck! if im not mistaken you were stationed at kings bay right? hows the lake up there? i heard you could rent boats is that true?
  4. Well guys looks like I've been missin out on some good fishin! I just got back from 3 weeks out to sea and unfortunately i leave for a 6 month Deployment in acouple weeks... Hopefully i can get out some and catch a couple more Hawgs before i have to leave! Good to see everyone's been havin some luck!!!
  5. Nice man! Ive had some good luck this yr too! i've landed about 8 bass over 5 lbs this season! I like your choice in reel as well! I own 2 Abu Garcia Pro Max reels! They are great!
  6. Thanks! I was using a mini bleeding shad rattle trap. Its about 1.5 hrs southof here right past palatka.
  7. Went to lake george this weekend didnt catch many but i caught this nice one! She weighed in at 6 lbs 2oz. Looks bigger tho!
  8. 99% sure those were grass carp you saw they resemble spawning bass in the water and most ponds in jacksonville have them! You can catch them on bread balls floating on the top of the water. That's the only thing ive ever heard them biting on.
  9. Caught these on feb 28th. Caught 7 that day all but one over 2.5 lbs.
  10. Watch the video on here about water clarity and lure selection its very informative. Best colors for muddy is dark like black and june bug!
  11. Saw the pic how much did it weigh?
  12. I have a felling i know where you caught this Hawg! lol Nice fish man! Did you Release her?
  13. And rebel poppers worked good too but i think any night fishin is best during a full moon but i did a lot of spot fishin with a flash light just find em... back off a min and then hit that spot theyll b there!
  14. Did alot of bass fishin at night last spring due to bein in the navy myself. Usually from about 9 to midnight caught 17 in an hr one night using worms and lizards a foot of the bank but that was in march and april. Good luck where ya fishin?
