  1. i was at bassproshops looking at som reels yesterday because i want to buy a new one. I narrowed it down to 2 that i like the most but i dont really kno what makes a reel a good reel? I like the basspro pro qualifier and the shimano citica 200g. which is better or will last me the longest time? thank you for the help everyone.
  2. i saw this video on youtube and the craw looks awesome. looks the most lifelike i have seen. i know it doesnt have alot of action but i think it looks the most like a defensive crawfish. i have been looking online and i cannot find this craw anywehre. does anyone know where i can find it?
  3. there are so many jig heads for different techniques. i wish there was a simpler way instead of buying 5 different heads. i use the alien head most of the time unless i am fishing into rocks and then i use a football. if you could only fish 1 for the rest of your life what would it be? what is the most versatile head out there? i have seen an arky head on seibertoutdoors site that some of you guys recommend. it looks pretty good but i havent had a chance to buy them yet.
  4. This just strengthens my thoughts about the people in this country. I really really really dont understand how the thought of telling a child he cannot sign his own name because it looks like a gun would even enter someones mind. If i could just have 5 minutes alone with the jackwaggon who thought of this
  5. So i did ok on my topwatr frog. Its a ragetail green with a white belly. I bought some zoom super flukes in pearl. They look like they will work pretty well since they mimick alot of what i am seeing swimming aroiund, they are the same size just about. I plan on throwing them weightless with my spinning rod. Here is a pic to give you guys an idea of what the water looks like. The pond is alot bigger than the pic but looks like this all the way around even in the middle as much as i can see. The water is pretty clear to so its cool seeing the fish. Thanks for the help you guys!
  6. Ok so i was at a new place i found fihsing today and the water was pretty darn clear. There was all kinds of trees, plants, bushes and stuff in the water along with some matted junk on top in certain places. When i walk up to the bank i see a ton of fish, mainly panfish but they all scattered and i saw some little fish that im not sure if they are fry or bait. The looked a little too big to be bait. It was a light color and vertically along the tail was black on the edge. I am wondering if these are the young o the year LM Bass? Looked like a stripe down the side also. There were tons of them watching my frog as i was reeling it and killing it and letting in sort of sink. They would get really close and when i would twitch it they would swim away. Also what baits are good in heavy weed, grass, tree cover? I dont even know how to explain what all was in there because it was like a forest underwater. I only used topwater today because i didnt want to get hung up alot. Thanks!
  7. Sodas are my problem. Sometimes 3 or even 4 a day. I drink beer but its on and off. 1 week i will have a 6 pack and then go 3 weeks without one. I need to cut back on the sodas and drink more water. I might drink a bottle of water once a month.
  8. I know people say use moderate action for crankin but i see alot of rods that say crankbait rod that are fast action. the shimano sellus crank rod says fast action and so does the bassproshops crankn stick. Do you guys use a moderate action rod or just a regular fast action?
  9. Are these 2 reels far apart from eachother? I cant see much difrence between them.
  10. I have just sold a bunch of older stuff tht i dont use anymre and im looking to buy a new reel. I will be using it for jigs/ t rigs on a 7 ft mh f rod. In my opinion there are so many good reels for 100 dollars i think it s hard to go wrong i just cant seem to decide on one. I used to have a citica and i loved it but i dont know if the new ones are as good as the one i had 5 years ago? Plus it is a little more than i want to spend. Here are my choices so far. Lews speed spool Abu garcia revo s Bassproshop pro qualifier Citica if i can find one on ebay or somewhere for 100. What do you guys say?
  11. will be picking sum of these up from bassproshop on my next visit i love them. The black back chartreuse are my favs. What ones do u like? I also have a question. When i am throwing from the boat to the shore. The water goes from 0 to about 7-8 ft where the boat sits. I can just about hit the shore from the boat. What would be the best crank to use depth wise? I dont want to throw one that dives too deep when i start my retreve from basically the shore, but i dont want to use a 0-3 and not get it to drag the bottom on the entire retrieve. Is it better to just use a like 3-6 kvd 1.5 or a 1.0 that goes 0-4?
  12. I have not really been picky when i buy tackle, i just pick up what looks good or if its on sale. I love to fish square bills. Right now i have some rapalas, strike kings and bomber. The bomber square A has been my favorite though BY FAR and i think i am going to start looking at those from now on. They are reasonably priced too. What do you guys like? Or do you just buy what looks good like me?
  13. Hey guys im new here but not new to bass fishing. I love fishing jigs so i want to know what line you all like to use when fihsing them yourselves? I know some use braid and some use flourocarbon. I prefer flouro and have actually never used braid before. Oh and i mean like open water fishing not pitching into heavy brush or anything. My lake has a rocky bottom with some rip rap closer to the shore so thats all i have to worry about when choosing a line.
  14. Hows everyone doing? I have been bass fishing for years now but am aalways looking to get better. I have found so much information on this site its amazing. Looking forward to talking with yall more!
