  2. I buy jigs, with rattles attached to the hook shank. My buddy started a local bait company and i gotta few test jigs in awesome colors, but they do not have rattles so i fished them for hours on end and never hooked up . How do you work them? I dont understand why i have so much trouble lol. Thanks for the double post help
  3. Sorry my laptop made two posts.
  4. Hey everyone. Basic question here. Do youuse rattle jigs, or unrattled? If you dont use rattles how do you fish them and catch fish? I have always used a rattle and caught fish but everytime i dont use a rattle i can catch anything. Someone please help.
  5. I did he wouldnt listen, they cover half his pond if he doesnt, frogs and flipping but he just doesnt get it\
  6. Hey yall, ive got some quick questions. My friend has a pond, 10 foot deep at the middle, i would say stained water, bottom is mossy, there is lilly pads (not now he is killing them off) A little brush pile with logs in water. In the winter time it was 11 degrees and snowing i caught a 4 pounder on a jig. Now as of today it is 90 degrees. I am going to his house saturday to fish with him. He is catching them on buzzbaits. What besides buzzbaits with do the trick? His record is 8.8 caught in the middle of the summer. I would like to catch one if not bigger to show him up for a little fun. Any ideas? Thanks
  7. I know everyone out there has there prefrences. How about you tell me! Worms- I fish night tournaments. I throw big worms. 7.5 inch power worms, 12 inch tournament series, 12 inch jelly worms, 11 inch net bait, 12 inch mister twisters etc. What do you consider to big? I almost bought a pack of 15 inch net bait but my dad said thats way to big. Creature. Whats your prefrence? I have used brush hogs, etc. I have bought some Havoc Pit bosses, and havoc craw fatty. Flipping and pitching at night? Ive never tried it will it work well? Jigs. Rattle or non rattle? I always throw rattle, seldom do i throw one without. Trailers? Big or small? I normally use twin tail grubs, or a paca craw
  8. Can anybody beat a 45lb flat head on 15lb trilene throwing a crankbait!
  9. Hey guys, i found a bigger version of the Bettle Spin laying around and got to thinking. Instead of the smaller jig that comes with it, i had an idea of putting a bigger jig on it like a 1/2 or so with the skirt and trailer with the blade i think it would kill. What do yall think is this a good idea?
  10. My buddy showed me one of these at his house, the only bad part is the rattle that goes inside. If you dont hook it right, it would fish right. Other than that i caught a 4 on the 3rd cast. Blue jig, and red trailer crazy colors!

    Jig Help

I have used jigs multiple times, i have caught id say about 10 or so fish on jigs. These fish were caught on Nolan Lake in kentucky with rock ledge drop offs about 24 foot. I made my first cast within 5 minutes of being on the lake and right off the ledge i felt a little brush and bam felt the weight of the fish, but it was not a a full jerk the rod out of your hands. My question is, here in Indiana on the lake i fish i throw into a lot of trees and lay downs but im not sure if what is really a fish and what is not. I have most likely missed some fish, i know what the trees feel like in the water. I just dont have the confidence in when it is really a fish, could anyone help? Thanks
  13. 4 packs of power worms- 2 watermelon, red shad, black 2 packs of 1.50 yum craws- bama bug 1 pack of manns jelly worms
  14. Hey guys, I gotta few questions about how to use them effcently. I have seen many people talking about bouncing them off wood and throwing into cover. Im not sure about this, why would you throw into wood with a crankbait and get hungup? Also with this can you fish almost anywhere with any bait or must it be a squre bill? Please help!
  15. Mathews, Catch us if you can!
  16. I'm right handed and mine does the same thing. I still fish mine like it is I recently caught a 5 pounder on the same buzz bait in a small pond. I font think this affects the lure it's self besides the angle.
  17. Thanks everyone this has really helped a lot!
  18. I have ran Into this probably, check your line after every fish for nicks, check your drag, fish could take drag but not to much where they can feel it and your hook doesn't slip, also make your knots nice and wet when tying and re tie every 5 or so fish or whatever your comfortable with.
  19. Heavy or light? Dark or bright? Thick or thin? Short or long ( trailer and skirt)? Anywhere or just timber? Slow or fast action? Rattle or no rattle? I need some help with these answers, Im new to pitching and don't I ow what to expect. Strong strike or a weak strike? On the fall? How would I present this slow or fast? Thanks
  20. If a fish swallows a hook They have a special digestive system and are able to digest hook, the soft plastic is what you need to attempt to remove, they can't break that down.
  21. Also of I was to use 50 braid would it make up for the extra short 4 inches?
  22. I have a 6' 6" bass pro bionic blade medium heavy rod. This would work for just open areas or along grassy bends at least until an upgrade comes along?
  23. I have a quantum 13110 CX reel And the ratio is 6:2:1 Idnlike to make this a reel for frogging. Is the ratio enough to be a good reel, and also do you have to have a 7' rod to frog with to have a good combo?
  24. I was wondering if anybody had any prefrences on frog colors. I'm going too buy some pad crashera this weekend and some new braid and get into frog fishing. So I was thinking about getting an original bullfrog color, and also maybe a black or a white frog? Any ideas about the colors matching the water. Also braid color does this matter. There are multiple colors of braided line. Thanks
  25. Well that does seem like something I'll look into, I'll also take it out and fish, hopefully it works it's an older crank. Only one way to find out though.
