  1. The E5 slower the better. My spinnerbait set up I use a slow 4,7:1 Pro Qualifier. But for cranks you want something a bit faster like the 5.
  2. They were new old stock. The boxes had the factory sticker over the closure so they were not displays. The line guide travels to both sides fine. It kinda spends more time at the sides of the spool than the center if that makes since. Spool is centered. I have the cast control knob backed off just enough to take the side to side play out. All the components under the cast control are installed correctly and present. Ya I re spooled several times. Line looked centered to me. Reel was attached to the rod and line was in the center of the rod like normal.
  3. About 6 months ago I bought the last two Gen 2 Revo STX's from Academy. I have used one as my primary jig reel and the other was a back up. Both were NIB. I decided to make my back up a jerk bait reel and spooled it up. I backed it with mono and filled it up with about 70 yards of braid. For the life of me, I cannot get it to lay level. The center of the spool is cupped down with the sides being taller. Usually it's the other way around. I was using spiderwire invisi braid in 30#. Switched it over to 832 in 50# and 30# with the same results. I bet I have pulled the line off and tried again 6 times with no luck. Everything seems to be fine with the reel. My other STX, S, 2 Curado's and PQ all lay perfect. Any tips?
  4. Let me guess, you lead the most boring life ever?
  5. I called both BP's in my state and they are all still 99.99 except for the 7'11" which is 119.99. If they are BP does add match and their website prices are still 99.99
  6. If you wait till the 1st the rod trade in sale begins. Any good quality 6-7 foot medium fast will be great for that. I fling weightless flukes with a 7' medium fast and it does perfect
  7. Man I am super jealous. Those MGX's are a piece of art
  8. Not to my knowledge. It's alot more dense than mono, copolymer braid etc so it sinks but the closet thing to a sorta floating fluoro would be a fluoro coated copolymer.
  9. If you go through Genes video he is actually using that combo in a video that shows set up and how to cast it too.
  10. I've got lots of coffee tubes. They are my primary tube but the smashes were on sale at academy for 2 dollars off. Hard to pass up.
  11. Wow where do I start??? In the last 2 weeks: 2 G.Loomis rods Spider Wire invizi braid Berkley Vanish 9 packs of Berkely smash tubes 5 packs of Berkely subwoofers 10 spinnerbaits 20 plus cranks SQ bills, swimbaits wake baits mediums 5 bait boxes Mega strike Izor XXX line Swivels 8 packs of Zoom flukes 8 packs of SK caffeine shads 20 packs of Mustad ultra lock hooks (on sale at 1.50) 5 chatter baits My arse got bit hard
  12. I have a friend at work that is trying to sell a G. Loomis rod. It's a 6'8" jig and worm medium xfast. It's a pretty good steal but I'm looking for a good top water rod. However I noticed on TW's site it's listed as being a good rod for lighter top waters. Has anyone used this rod for top water Popr's wake baits etc? How would this rod be for hard jerk baits? It felt like it would load a small bait really well. I would like to get double use as a topwater/jerk bait rod to save on some funds. Thanks in advance
  13. Save it. It never expires. I am saving mine and building it up to get me an MGX or a Core next year
  14. I've been really lucky with all 4 of my Veritas rods on the guide issue. You might try just bringing it into the dealer and see what they will do.
  15. You will have my son in 5 years lol
  16. Bobby recommended the original. Said it was his favorite
  17. Jimmy Houston knot with a 6-8 foot leader
  18. Are talking about the plastic pieces that slip over the pin?
  19. I'd like to get rid of my paddle handles for regular one lol
  20. Mine should be here tomorrow. I am excited to try it out. But your right, good CS and even better warranties that are free, are spellings points.
  21. How much experience do you have with bait casters? If none, use the cheapest stuff you can find. When learning a BC, backlashes will happen and ruin line. You don't want 20 dollars worth of line being trashed. If you are good with one, I'd say Izor XXX in 15 pound or some Yozuri in 12-15
  22. I use the Bass Pro internal tube weights and a Skip Gap Hook
  23. What's your core temp? You could have a small case of pneumonia. I asked my fiancé (RN) and she has never heard of being more susceptible to it after having it. If you had hypothermia there is a good chance you had pneumonia too.
