  1. You should see all the Ravens gear at the local Walmart in Oklahoma. It's kinda pathetic.
  2. You betcha it does. I started fishing soft jerk baits this year after watching Bassresource's video on it. Neglected to use a swivel. I seriously thought my Revo S just went belly up. Backlashed every cast. I had micro guides so it was even worse. Had a buddy tell me what I was doing wrong. Stripped the line, used a barrel swivel and no more twist. To the OP, I had thick Bermuda grass. Every bait I throw on the grass in practice, twists up really good. Throw on a barrel swivel and strip the line. Chances are its compromised.
  3. I bought my 2nd Revo S last week but got a Shimano rod instead. Life sucks lol
  4. Sweet. Glad you had a good time. Autographs are always cool. And to "reason" didn't your mom just call you for dinner?
  5. That's what I was leading too. Don't forget endorsement deals too lol
  6. You too? Lol. I am lucky to survive 1 outing with a jig. Hence why I have to buy so many. I am notorious for finding the nastiest hole and pitching a jig in it.
  7. If you were asking me, I only run 1/2 oz jigs and my line was Suffix #50 pound 832 with a 20# fluoro leader.
  8. They had extra cap with Lewis and the other guy (can't think of his name off hand) retiring this season to pay him. Keep in mind, Brady took a pay cut to stay with New England. Also so they could keep Gron and Welker with the possibility of future guys. Keeping their cap low. As much as I hate anything Brady, Flacco is not worth 120 million, and a much better QB than Flacco too.
  9. It may have just been my knot or me or something crazy, but I had 3 modified Albright knots fail me this week using line that was slick like the nano fill. I would leave 1/4" tags and pull them down really hard after my final tug. The tags would slide all the way into the knot and disappear. One break off came as the result of a backlash and lost the jig. The others were after setting the hook and getting snagged. Crazy thing was my set ups using 832 to fluoro, I had no issues. I've been hearing of this problem with slick braids and nano fill lately. Anyone else having this issue?
  10. The Moss moment or when Zona and Mercer were making Yette mailing calls to the camera man. Those two are like the Beavis and Butthead of bass fishing. It's on my bucket list!
  11. Sounds like chum or better yet a crabby patty!
  12. Ours kinda went bonkers in the first 30 minutes and by the time I left, around 11:30, there were still 150 plus left
  13. Met up with a buddy today after work to hit BP for the Bomber Square Bill A sale. 5 for 10 bucks limit of 15. I ended up getting all 15. 2 Chart blue back, 2 baby bass, 3 sexy TN shad, 1 chrome TN shad, 2 yellow brown backs, 1 orange craw, 2 brown craw and 2 fire tiger. Found silent KVD 4s for 1.29 each and 4s KVD square bill sexy shads for 2.22 Man it was a great day!
  14. I've gone with using BP's fluorocarbon. Is strong and so far seems to have less memory than I've had with others. I know I'm going to take flak for this, but I bought a spool of 20# Berkely Vanish on sale the other day. So far I've just been using it for a leader and time will tell. If I don't have any issues, at 10 bucks it could be a good deal
  15. JJ's has been proven on this board and I have proven it to myself so I can honestly say it does work. I won't say that it will attract fish as I can't say that for sure, but I can say that the bass will hold my jig, tube etc much longer with harder bites. I don't get that bump bump bump, I get that bam! and they hold. I am slowly proving myself to mega strike. The videos are hard to pick apart and have got me excited. I've only used it twice, so I can't say it's the end all attractants, but I am impressed so far.
  16. Everclear at 15. No more must be said of that
  17. I actually was going to type this exact formula except I don't use anything lighter than 15 pound braid. Lol
  18. Cool. Thanks for the help guys. I will hang onto these then. Most have the rubber band collar, which I hate, but I got them so cheap that I can afford to loose a few skirts.
  19. I've got a few Alimony blacks and knock outs. I have yet to try them. I kinda went hog wild buying jigs and only ended up using only my black series Insanities, KO froggers and salsa & mistake flip n swims lol
  20. This was my first time to use a hair jig. I was pretty impressed.
  21. The copper craw worked really well for me. I decided to buy 5 more and just use them.
  22. If you PM pondboss here, he has alot of experience with the ethos rods. He speaks pretty highly of them
  23. All I can really say is wow! I finally got the chance to try these out today. 3rd cast and I had a little dink smash it hard. I ended up catching a tree, followed up by 20 minutes of dangling and retrieved the jig, only to have a break off next cast and watch it sail off into the middle of the pond. I used a Strike King river bug in green pumpkin and the jig was the copper craw. They matched up perfectly! The bottom of the river was very grassy so I swam the jig like a swim jig and did well. The action of the hair was amazing. Typical great North Star quality. Thanks Chris. I just placed an order for more a few minutes ago.
  24. Have you lubed it or taken it down to see if there is too much lube? How dirty is the reel? Was it dropped in the water or rained on hard? I know after using mine in the rain, it felt that way. Took it down, blew it out, cleaned lubed and it was like new.
