  1. Anyone with KU is their user name gets a free pass. X2 on the aboive
  2. I know it's gonna kill you to do it, but look at the Crucials and Mojo's before you leave
  3. I see what you mean now. Sorry I wasn't thinking about vertical fishing was eaiser with a spinning reel m I am shore bound for another year or so it may work
  4. What about using 30 pound braid and a furoro leader. That would put you at 8 pound mono diameter.
  5. Is the Calcutta to much for light baits? I only ask as I have a Chronarch and a Curado using 1/4 oz weighted plastics and they seem to work well
  6. Keep this in mind guys. Even know a swift bullet would end alot of problems, if we don't give this yard bird due process, we violate everything this country was founded upon.
  7. Does anyone have the rod, used it etc? I want to get into drop shot this summer. Not a fan of spinning rods. Was thinking of pairing this with a 50 Chronarch. Any thoughts opinions on it? Thanks
  8. I love em. Every top water and jerkbait I own has them. If they don't come with it, I put them on. I know exactly squat about tying. I just buy the Mustad ones and go to town. I'd like to learn how to tie though. Those VMC sureset hooks look cool!
  9. Almost looks custom. I'd take em and frame em up. I'd give everything thing I had for some of my old mans stuff.
  10. Caffeine Shad followed by the Rad Shad and Zoom Fluke in that order
  11. I'd be happy with a couple of small ones. I don't want to make it my full time job. I love fishing and don't want to ruin it. North Star jigs. My jig habit is getting expensive. Strike King. I need more plastics and cranks G.Loomis. I want a GLX something bad. 400 bucks hurts lol
  12. The Abu gods have chosen you as their project to see whet the breaking point of a man is lol My first thought was high humidity, but if that was the case, we would see more of a problem with it.
  13. Call Pure Fishing in the AM. They are pretty good about helping people out. I've had my 7' M Micro guide for about a year now. Heavy use and just started using rod socks a couple months ago. Mine lookd fine. No pealing that I can see
  14. Cool thanks. I really like the look of the GLX. Black shaft with the multicolored cork rocks
  15. I was watching Dave Mercer rig them on jigs a few episodes ago and he absolutely killed em. Switched to a swimbait hook and killed em again. Needless to say, I now have 20 plus packs in my favorite 5 colors.
  16. I use Rig Gun Grease. I've had the same tube for 5 years. It's like 8 bucks.
  17. Would you say you like the Cumara over the NRX? I'm upgrading my jig rod next year and either going with an NRX or a GLX. I love my GL2 I'm using now, but I gotta try something higher grade
  18. Found 3 Rebel Squarebills and 2 Arboghast hula poppers at Walmart for 1.50 each.
  19. I have limited knowledge of cranks as I don't use them like I probably should. I'm more of a jig guy. Squarebills are designed to be run into and through cover. The wide bill aides in keeping it from getting hung up. When it hits the log brush pile etc, it triggers strikes. They run shallow from 0-5 feet. Medium divers run 5-10 and some have a wide bill that makes a large wide wobble like the bait fish is hunting or feeding. Skinnier bills less wobble. Deep divers are 10 plus. Same as mediums. Then you have suspending jerk baits. They run Anywhere from 0-16 feet depending on the size of the bill. Mainly for cold water they work best on a slack line with a jerk. I Like I said, my knowledge is limited on them. Hopefully more people will jump in.
  20. You've got two rattle traps in the boxes. A 1/2 oz and a 1/4 oz. they don't have the new MVD hooks, but rattle traps were the first lipless cranks made. Good stuff. I have several and used them alot. The Bomber is decent larger top water popper. The rest of the cranks are all shallow runners. I recognized bream and what looks like rootbeer colors. I'd have to look and the bills and body's to see if there are any markings, but my guess is Bombers. All look like quality cranks
  21. Lately it's been the Strike King Series 4 in Rootbeer. The Sexy Blue Back Herring color works really well too.
  22. I just bought an Avid 7' MH cranking rod that should be here Thursday. I honestly don't think I've been this excited about buying something in my life. Well there was this M1A1 once, but for fishing I'm stoked. I haven't found one person complain or have bad things to say about it.
  23. Most cranks I've used that were older were either marked some how or I remembered them by sight. Several are still around and can be found at places like BP, TW and other places of the such. Look at the hooks. Are they sharp? Are they thick wire or look like trash. How flimsy are the bills? How's the paint quality. By the way you described his set up, shop etc, I would assume he has some good stuff. Most guys like that don't buy elcheapo junk.
  24. X2. They last about 2-3 fish at best, but they have the best fluttering action of any fluke I've used. They also hold Megastrike really well. Price wise, they are well worth it IMO. The Ghost shad and baby bass are my two favorites
  25. Shoot me a PM with a link please
