  1. Have you tried the St. Croix Avids yet? I just bought another one in MM power today.
  2. I get the same way around Thanskgiving. This was the 2nd one without my old man around. It was a day of bird hunting, fishing, football and food. Without him it really means nothing anymore. I chose to work and give the newbies the day off. My dad used to say, if you can go to work, fish, hunt and scream at the TV during a game, your not depressed!
  3. I remember seeing the CU50's for 75 at our local BP marked down too. I was on my Abu kick then and missed out. I have two now that look like new and get used a bunch.
  4. The Cosmic Shad and Pro Blue have been my top two producers this year.
  5. I'm only new to the Shimano line, but in every past reel they have made that was a proven design, they have discontinued it. I really see the E series being done way with very soon. My only reason for that comment is their history has a way of repeating itsself. I really hope they dont in all honesty.
  6. I have been on a Dobyns Kick for awhile now. That said, I still have yet to trade up my St. Croix Avid cranking rod. Big flex and loads well. Its under 200, 7 foot and has a full cork grip.
  7. Same here with the Rogues as a close 2nd. Both are resonably priced and for me, they are the only two that have suspended perfectly out of the box with nothing done to them.
  8. Very true. I worked at a high end steak house from my 8th grade year up to my Junior year in HS. All our top cut meat was aged in a special ageing room at the packing house that had a special room for our restaurant. Special cut, special brand of cow and it came from a farm that fed them a diet per the owner of the resturant. I was amazed at what when into prepairing the steak for the customer. My guess is most high end steak houses do the same. Cooking at home is great, but a date with the Mrs, nice place, cold beer and a game on the big screen with friends is hard to beat!
  9. You know, honestly if you buy the head in your desired weight, style and hook from Seibert Outdoors and a pretied skirt with a collar, you can make one really cheap. If you can thread a plastic on a jig hook, you can thread a skirt and collar on one.
  10. That skirt is exactly like it. i went with a lighter green for the bluegill around here, but I'm going to use that first skirt for some flipping jigs.
  11. I'm not 100% sold yet, but the quality seems to be great. I've got 5 total baits and Ise them a lot. I haven't noticed a huge increase in bites over a non electronic bait, but I haven't fished them a bunch either. I think if they would drop the price about 4 bucks they would sell much faster.
  12. It does. I ordered a bunch of heads from Mike last week to start making my own jigs. The above head has the pointed bait keeper like most do. That hook is awesome. I am going to start using it for all my jigs I make, other than swims, from now on.
  13. It used to be a Black Series Brown Craw from NS, but now its the same jig that I make myself along with a Rage Craw in Falcon lake Craw
  14. Agreed. It took me just at 40 minutes to get to work tonight. Nomally a 13 minute trip. I have one more item that is supposed to be arriving tomorrow and were done till after the holidays.
  15. Looks good man. I had a 27 day old aged ribeye and lamb chop in Vegas once that put me to my knees!
  16. Don't feel bad, every package I have ordered in the last two weeks was delayed or ship around the county before it came here lol
  17. I got that 15 dollar one from Bass Pro. http://www.basspro.com/White-River-Fly-Shop-Classic-Vise/product/98228/ The brass head is perfect length to lay the skirt tabs up against it to make an even skirt. Its sturdy as hell and easy to put up and take down. I have mine on my bench in the garage. It comes with a heavy film of oil to prevent it from rusting. Even comes with a nice cardboard box for it. For 15 bucks it was a steal. I can see myself tying my own jigs for the rest of my life and honestly never needing a new vise.
  18. Looks good. Whats the weight of the jig? Looks small, but might be the way I'm looking at it.
  19. Thanks. Jig is 1/2oz and it's right at about 66 strands
  20. Thanks man. I appreciate it.
  21. Exactly! Remember last year, A&E tried to make Phil stop talking about the lord and take the guns out of the show. Phil basically said take the lord and firearms, take your show and shove it. A&E backed off. I'm willing to bet, they have butted heads against his tradional ways a few times and this is their way to hang it on his head. Problem is, the old man wont budge an inch. I don't blame him at all. That said, sometimes, keeping you mouth closed, makes for a better day.
  22. Thanks for all the input so far guys. I changed the base color to a different color that I think matches a bit better. I added only a half tab of orange and a half tab of blue flake. I really like this color.

  24. Thanks. I know the MG7 has proven its self I was curious about the new micro gearing on the Metanium.
  25. Thanks man. I'm glad your liked it. Funny thing was on the hoodie, I had ordered that about 9 months prior to the loot thread starting. I had totally forgot about that and the day I was going to mail your package, it showed up lol. I thought "I know who could use this"
