  1. I used it for one season and really liked it. I ran 30# and no issues what so ever. My only complaint was the noise. I am probably too picky about it, but I preferred the Power Pro Slick for less noise.
  2. KVD and the Shaw Grigsby Knot are my favorites.
  3. Whats your problem?
  4. I needed a good laugh. It's been a hellova week. Lol
  5. Gotta love that crazy bite! A couple of years ago I had the same with the top water bite on a lake. It was so crazy, they'd hit just about anything as long as it was shallow.
  6. I've seen People bash companies on here before and the posts get taken down. I felt no need to name the company. My friends and family will know. I got the entire call on tape man. My reason for posting was it kinda shocked me people are still that way with large companies.
  7. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/12403-jig-fishing-questions/page-12#entry1351402 Check out the above thread. It's packed full of goodies and tips for jigs and jig fishing. As for swim jigs, I like to start off using them as a search bait, fanning out my casts to cover as much water. To answer your questions, yes. Yes to all. There really isn't a wrong way to fish a swim jig other than to not fish it. Find some submerged grass and burn it across the top of the grass. I like to let it fall too and rip it out. If you feel it getting hung up, give it a quick pop and it usually comes out. As for trailers, for swim jigs, I like the Berkley Havoc Sub Woofers, Strike King menace and shell crackers. For flipping jigs, I like the Strike King Rage Craws, Bass Assiassan Pure Craws and the Xcite baits Raptor Chunks. There will be many people coming by and offering their favorites. You should be set.
  8. my mistake. Not exactly sure what happened there
  9. The last couple of years have been bad for weeds. I wasn't able to keep up with regular lawn maintenance, along with all the weeds. So we hired (company X) to control the weeds. Long story short, they did a hellova job on the weeds. The lawn looks immaculate. Other than the cost, I have been tickled pink! Fast forward to this afternoon. They called my fiancé's work as I work nights and sleep during the day. Here is how the phone call went. Company X"Hello ma'am, we would like to recommend aerating your lawn" My fiancé "I'm really not sure, I'd like to speak with my fiancé and see what he says" Company X "that's just stupid, if you want a beautiful lawn women, you'll listen to me and take this service" Click, she hangs the phone up and calls the IT department and gets a recording of the call. Emails to me and wakes me up. I listen and am so fuming mad, I can't go back to sleep. 20 minutes later, the cat from Company X calls me. I start off calm and a hello. He proceeds to tell me my fiancé needs to just listen to men and let us take care of the "important" things. Now before I go any further, last was a miserable 12 hour shift. 95 degrees all night, and full of stupid people. I got woke up early and with all that said, I was a little "miffed" Needless to say, we are no longer with Company X. With the threats I made involving social media and the BBB, the last 2 services were credited back to my account. Are people really that sexist now adays? Nothing gets my BP going worse than one person bullying or discriminating against another.
  10. I've been stuck on the PP Slick in Timber Brown. I've used 832, and liked it. No complaints other than the sound.
  11. No problem. I really can't believe how balanced and great it feels with my 50E paired. My 745 will be here Saturday, so both should get a decent work out
  12. Have you tried a jig or something off the bottom? I had a nice little pond like that. Caught my PB in Oklahoma within 5 minutes on a jig. Not a single bite since that day. Felix77 said it right. Slow down, then slow down more.
  13. Depends on my hook. If its a light wire hook and in running braid, I will give a slow sweep at 3 o'clock. Heavy duty hook, 1-2 o'clock, a little faster sweep. I don't miss to many fish that way.
  14. Thanks. I finally got a couple of hours on this rod over my days off. All I can say is wow! I spooled 65 yards of 12# Tatsu up and did some pitching in the living room. Kitchen has hardwood floors and I could feel every board. The sensitivity of this thing is amazing. The front yard was even better. I could feel all the grass as it was moving through. I went out off the dam of a local lake and ran a tube over some rocks. I was able to feel every rock. I thought my GL2's were sensitive, but this thing was worth every dollar.
  15. For what it's worth, I fish from the bank and my little boat with 7'-7'4" rods and I don't seem to have any issues. Gets me more distance. Now too water is a different story
  16. Agreed. If you dip the claws in a chartreuse dye, it matches well and has created some vicious bites
  17. I can't speak Jeff, but a good Modified Albright knot works very well for joining two lines. Its also what I use for braid to fluoro. Here are some good knots
  18. 65 yards is all I put anymore. I can get 3 spoolings off a 200 yard spool.
  19. Shimano Chronarch 200E7. Spooled with 20# Seaguar Tatsu. Sits on a Dobyns Extreme 745 FH. Shimano Curado 200G7. Spooled with 40# Power Pro Sick in Timber Brown. Sits on a Shimano 7'2" MHXF Crucial. Both casting set ups. I'm testing out the Tatsu on my pitching setup now but I had been using the same 40# PP Slick in Timber Brown.
  20. I recently replaced my craftsman mower that was 14 years old. Just goes to show that when you take care of your stuff, it lasts forever.
  21. Look at it this way. Used Citica's run in the 75-80 dollar range. Your going to trade off a quality rod that can easily bring 150 on a quck sale, more if you are patient. Knock 20% off the Reese rod and you have around 70 bucks. They are equal in trade value. I've never found a Reese rod that looks like it wasn't built by 3rd world 3rd graders. If your a Loomis guy, your never going to be happy with a Reese rod. This is solely my opinion though, but I would never be. Your Loomis will sell here no doubt. Or even ebay. Then you can get what you want.
  22. I actuslly switched from 832 over to PP Slick. I run the Timber Brown. With 40#, I've had no digging in issues, no casting issues etc. it fades quick like most braids, but I've had no issues you've described after just over 8 months.
  23. Seen this on Seaguars Facebook page. Anyone have any experiences with this?
  24. Spinnerbaits? Anything that needs slow rolled. Remember it wasn't but 10 plus years ago all we could use were 5 gear reels. I used to fish jigs on one fore several years.
  25. I average 40-45 yards with a 1/4 oz tube and weight on a 7' rod. I've got it now on my 7'3" Champion. I've yet to break it out to see how far. The Strike King Spit n Shad is at 3/8 oz and I can usually launch it a bit further on a 6'8" rod medium. That's with a Chronarch 50E and 40# braid
