  1. My order showed up today. All I can say is wow! Tentacles on the tubes were well cut, equal length and have tons of action. The body is very well built too. Exceeded my expectations This is my first time to use a Shakey head jig. These are amazing. Strong hooks and super sharp. I love how the hook point is recessed down to make it easier to texpose the hook. I'm going to enjoy these next days off. I'm going to give the new 733 a work out!m Thanks for the recommendation guys!

  5. Good to hear!
  6. Not to mention hand tied with better quality skirts!
  7. I've always had the best of luck about mid November throwing a Bomber 6A in Red Craw Fish. That color on my home lake has landed some of the biggest LM and Wiper I have ever caught. My PB of 5.8 pounds LM and 18.4 pounds wiper have both came off the same lure a week apart. Next to that, an Insanity Black Series jig from North Star and Candy Craw Rage Craw
  8. Good to know. Thanks
  9. I have a few of the football tour grades left over and the hooks are what I think are lite wire. I can bend them out with 14 pound fluoro on my bench. This was pulling as hard as I could though, not a real world fishing situation. 20# is pretty heavy stuff and can flatten a hook out. I've never done it with fluoro myself though while fishing, only with braid. I switched up to NS jigs for several reasons including the hooks. However the hair jigs have a hook very similar to the lite wire hook on the SK's. With braid I do a very light hook set as the hook will dig in eaiser. It could be a combo of both or one. I'd suggest a smaller diameter line with the hooks.
  10. Ya, I'm regretting every joining this site lol Good deal. Ever since I got turn onto NS jigs, I've been spoiled. lol I throw a 1/2oz Flip N Swim with a Havoc Subwoofer 99.999% of the time when running swims.
  11. I'll take your word for it then sir. I will start the saving process.
  12. Here are my options: The Avid will set you right at your price point. Of the 3 you have listed, I'd go with the Avid. I love mine. I've never held a Savvy, so I can't comment, but LargemouthGambler here has two and has tried on numerous occasions to get me to commit. He loves them. The *** is another proven winner. Its the lowest priced of the bunch. Do you want Full grip or split, cork or EVA?
  13. Thanks. I'm current using a Crucial in MHXF and with braid I really have to slow my hook set and make it a spit second delayed. This may be it.
  14. Thanks. I love this Extreme, but my 733 is quickly becoming my favorite lol. When the jig bite around here picks back up in the next few weeks, I may think differently.
  15. Thanks. That was a thought I had too. My 745 is the first fast tip I've ever used for jigs. I was concerned about the tip being slower, but after the first two really short tap tap taps, I hooked up with both fish. Normally with my XF tips I get too excited and miss the fish on the light taps. Now the long process of deciding on the 734 or 744 for my swim jigs begins.
  16. Thanks.
  17. Thanks
  18. I'm not by all means being condescending, but have your checked over the line or looked at your guides for any sharp edges? When I first started using fluoro I had the same issues and I was using the Improved Clinch knot. My problem ended up being my last guide had a nasty bur on it and on a hard cast it would catch and break the line right at the knot. A properly tied improved clinch knot should hold fluoro with ease.
  19. I won an auction with a few Lucky Craft jerkbaits and one is the Lavender Shad color. Basically purple and white. When, where and how is this color best used? I've never ran it before. Thanks
  20. I bet it was "electrifying" lol Sorry had to
  21. Hows that work out being its so long? I had a 7"11 Veritas once, and never could figure out how to pitch with it
  22. How would you rate the 735C for 1/2oz swim jigs?
  23. The above guys are correct. The 5 is a Mag heavy in the Extreme model. This is a really good write up on the 735C from Tackle Tour. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdobyns735c.html One of their only complaints was the rod registered as a heavy action and not a MH as advertised. My 733 is a MH power but not all rods are created equal in that respect. Mine feels more like halfway between a MH and M. Perfect for what I need
  24. My fiancé didn't think it was near as funny as I did. Funny she's the same way with a burpsnart
