  1. Your not helping my wallet lol.
  2. Thanks. I was just concerned about it being smaller.
  3. I picked up 2 Lucky Craft 97MR flash pointers last week. With 40# braid they are running between 2-3 feet for me.
  4. Thanks! Yep. We went through 4 of them that day and 2 packages of subwoofers lol. I'm still waiting on my order for last month and putting together another one right now.
  5. Thanks everyone for all the help.
  6. I just checked and 15 pound PP is 4 pound diameter.
  7. I am cranking with an Avid MHM 7'. It's the most sensitive cranking rod I've ever used.
  8. 15 pound braid is really thin. It's cutting into your thick Fluoro. 40# braid that I use is around 10 pound mono diameter. I use that with 20# fluoro. You need to match diameter closer. 15# braid I would use no more than 8-10 pound fluoro.
  9. Between you, LMG and Grantman my wallet has suffered like no other lol I think I'm going to settle on the Dobyns 734C for my swim jig rod. I run swims more than I do flippin jigs so this may be a twofer. You mention you for the NS original swim. What weight do you throw with your Core?
  10. I have been thinking of up grading my Chronarch 200 up to a Ci4 but can't commit to it right now. I have a smoking deal on a Core 50MG7 I can get. I would plan to pair this with my DX745. For those of you that pitch jigs with it, can you tell me what you think? Does it feel under powered? I will be pitching 1/2oz jigs 90% of the time with the occasional 3/4oz and a 1oz plastic to punch mats. Mainly pitching with occasional short casts. Or would the Core 100 be better suited? I really want the 7 gear ratio for jigs though. Thanks in advance.
  11. Yepper. It's like a topwater high but better lol. I haven't paid over 7 bucks for one yet and all were new!
  12. Look very closely at them. There really isn't much difference in 3/8-1/2 oz. If not like Speed said, pick up a phone and call them.
  13. I've got a couple of short Zebo combos my son uses. He is only 6 and is hard on his gear. He has been asking to get a longer rod for a few weeks. I put his 33 on one of my 6'8" rods and he was tickled pink. I think it was way to much length for him, but I really don't know. How do you tell?
  14. Just because you can catch a fish on a cane pole and string, doesn't mean its the best tool or the most convent tool to do so. Fishing is a hobby for me. Nothing more. I've never fished a Tournament and I don't know if I ever will. Firearms used to be my main hobby. I attempted to turn it into a career and it completely ruined it for me. That said, better equipment, nicer equipment make the experience better. If a guy talks crap on your gear when fishing, he's a POS in my opinion.
  15. Good lookin out! I had about 30 open lol
  16. Have you tried the Rage Rig yet? If I can't get anything to commit to jig, I will take a Rage Craw on a Moaner Stroker 1/4oz 4/0 hook and pitch it into cover. The slow fall with the action of the claws, usually brings out a strike or two. I'll also try a tube. My thought is, if they aren't hitting a jig, craw or tube, the fish aren't there.
  17. I've used it without a swivel before I found the VMC's. I would fish for a few hours and then troll my line out and pull the twists out. That said, I never really seen a huge amount of line twist due to my short usage of the DS. Hopefully one of the tourney guys can chime in and report if they see it.
  18. How do you do that now on the iOS7? before it was a double click of the home button, press and hold the app and they start to shake. Now it doesn't do it.
  19. mnbassman23 turned me onto the Pure Craws from Bass Assassin. 10 packs and are pretty cheap. They have two colors that match my NS jigs to a T. The claws float and do not fall. They are kinda flat, but work well for a slow presentation. Their flaw is hardly any action on the fall or retrieve. I still prefer my Rage Craws as they have more action on the fall that any plastic I throw. I just wish I could get 10 packs for 4 bucks lol
  20. Thanks. I went ebay crazy and got a bunch of them. I got some Live 80'S, Pointer 100 SP's 97 MR's, Staysee 90Sp Ver 2's. I caught two on the Live Pointer that were two of the most violent hits I've ever had.
  21. You will probably want a swivel then. Braid wont show near as much line twist as Fluoro or Mono, but a swivel would prevent most of it.
  22. I use the VMC spin shot hooks when I DS so I don't need to run a swivel.
  23. This was going to be my response too. On a baitcaster, its not as big of a deal, but with a spinning reel, the leader knot always hangs up on the bail and the line on the spool.
  24. If your running a leader the color of the braid will not matter as much. Color depends on your preference. I like PP Slick in Timber Brown. I prefer 15-20 pounds for my DS rod and a 8-12 pound Seaguar Tatsu or Red Label leader depending on cover.
