  1. Its been used in Fiber optic cable for a loooooong time lol.
  2. I abused the hell out of my Lighting rods and never had an issue at all with them. The 7' MH was the most common one made so who knows. Buy the Shock rod at Walmart and save 10-15 bucks. Walmart has one of the best return policies too. If you loose your receipt your only out 40 bucks. I differ slightly from lmbfisherman in that I like to put more in the rod than the reel. If your not fishing a lot of bottom baits, the rods sensitivity is not such a major concern as if you are. I want to feel everything I can feel on the bottom of the lake. I don't have electronics on my boat, so a jig on the bottom is my eyes. Just whatever you do, do not buy a piece of junk for your first reel. You don't need to spend a fortune either. If you scrimp on a reel and buy something that is going to cause you problems, its just going to make you hate baitcasters even more.
  3. I've got the same rod coming any day now. Its going to be my jerkbait rod as well.
  4. When pitching jigs I want as fast as I can get. Something around 30 IPT is great. For swim jigs I want to slow it down some and look for something around 26-28 IPT.
  5. I seen that on Zona's FB page. Yikes that's high!
  6. Berkley Havoc Subwoofer in Pearl White Silver flake.
  7. The new ones. I've never seen or held the previous models so I really can't comment on them.
  8. I have both. I can tell you the mojo is a great rod, but nothing compared to the Avid. The Avid's balance point is different and has none of the tip heaviness that the mojo has. The Avid has a better blank and better guides. Next to a Cumara and GLX, I would say the Avid would be the lesser of the rods. Not by a huge amount though. Keep in mind, the Avids price point is 190 where as the Cumara is 250 and the GLX is around 400 bucks. 3 completely different worlds here.
  9. Bowling? That's cool.
  10. That sucks man. I thought most all BP's were doing well
  11. I always give them to my 7 year old! They usually never call back. I had one call about 4 months ago from a repo company trying to repo a 2013 Cadallic SUV of some type. I told them they had the wrong person. Dude got really rude and I hung up. 3 days later a women and some thug looking guy shows up demanding to look into the garage. Note that I drive an 04 ford pick up that's been paid off for 4 years lol. Next thought was a through credit check all around to see if someone used my stuff. It was all clear. How in the world do they get things so mixed up?
  12. It's irritating yes, but at the same everyone of us has done the same thing, myself included. It is a discussion forum after all. Also this search feature on this forum is even more irritating. Any time you hit the browser back button, it deletes your search. Plus if your on a phone, searching is even more difficult.
  13. I agree. I don't think for the 160 mark (new) your going to find a better built more sensitive rod. I'm not a fan of the grip, but it has got to be the most durable thing I've ever fished next to an ugly stick. The fully exposed reel seat and braid will bring out the most in sensitivity in it. I got the XF and its just a tad much for me. I think the fast would be better suited for bottom contact baits.
  14. There is a 145 dollar one in the flea market now
  15. Just to add, I will be using my Core on my jerkbait rod for now, but when I can afford a new swim jig rod, I have 3 reels I am looking at putting on it. The Mystic is one of those 3 along with a 50E or Scorpion 1000.
  16. After the hell I went through with all 3 Gen 3 Revo S's, I'd go with anything over them. Now the Gen 2 Revo is a different story. I still haven't seen any negative reviews on the Mystic yet. I haven't searched real hard either, but if a reel has a history of issues, it usually shows up on the various forums pretty quick. There is only 3 reviews on it that I've seen at Academy's website. All gave it good points.
  17. I can't comment on the 734 as I haven't gotten it yet, but I have the 733. The sweet spot seems to be around 3/8-1/2 oz. I've run plastics right at 3/8 that felt great. I've currently got a North Star 1/2 oz hair jig with a little trailer tied on, and it feels great too. I'd almost go to saying the 1/2oz feels better. I really think anywhere in between would be perfect.
  18. The Champion is also Dobyns #1 seller. I bought my 733 at TW last sell they had and it was 214 shipped.
  19. The Champion is top notch all the way. Sensitivity wise, it's very very close to the Extreme. The Extreme some nicer hardware and a tad more sensitivity.
  20. Grab some Berkley Havoc Subwoofers in Watermelon red and Bama craw for your flip n swims too. They are cheap and I've found them to msme the best trailers for the swims!
  21. X2 The Avid is in a class by itself. The Premier is a great rod don't get me wrong, but overall I'd step up and get the Avid. If anything the lifetime warranty is worth it.
  22. I have a SK 4S in Green Gizzard Shad tied on right now. I run ghost or more life like colors in warmer weather and a craw red or brown pattern in the cold. I don't crank much anymore, but I have a SB on almost always.
  23. When I want a lot of action in my trailer, I always go with a Rage Craw. If I want a more subtle action I go with either a Berkley 4" Crazy Legs craw with the antennas torn off or a Bass Assassins Pure craw. My hairs I go with a 3' crigger craw from Berkley or an Xcite baits chuck. I cut the bodies depending on how large or small a presentation I want.
  24. Key word there "hadn't" If by my user name or picture you thought I had any love for OU your wrong. I just hated Texas worse
  25. That should have said late 00's typo. Reguardless of the win, Texas has been the biggest disappointment of the Big XII for a long time Vegas had OU by a long shot, I actually had money on OU too.
