  1. Yes. It's kinda in the middle, but talking with a couple of guys and holding one, it palms like a 100. Pm member Hooligan, he's got a few of them and has some good info on them. I trust his word.
  2. Stupid question, but color or weight?

  4. You can swap the gears out? Dang I didn't know that. I will have to try that on my 50E's. Thanks
  5. Also if you don't want to wait till the sales the forum has a new sponsor named Beat the big box guys.com. Owners name is Ron. Call him, tell him where your from and he will cut you a deal probably better than you can find at any sale. I got my 745 from him cheaper than I could at the last TW sale. Saved about 10 bucks off the sale price.
  6. I have a Core 100MG on my 745 now. I also have one for my swim jig rod which will be a 734 soon. The Core is a whole different animal that my Chronarch's. The reduced weight is a lot more noticeable than I could imagine. I use a 50 for my hair jigs and one for my jerkbaits. I've never made a cast far enough to get down to my backing with 65-70 yards of line. To answer your question is it worth it, to me it was worth it as I love the Core. Remember a couple of things though, the Core's IPT is only 26 on the 100MG. The 50E is 25. If you want faster, you have to get the Core 50 which is 28. It's 20 dollars more than the 100 and 180 more than the Chronarch. That's almost another reel or rod.
  7. If the total weight is 3/4, I think so. You should get plenty of flex to load the bait on the 734
  8. Take your set up in the front or back yard. Pull out 20-30 yards of line and have someone hold the jig with the line tight. Then have then tap on the line above the jig 2-4 times. That's what a bite feels like. But remember this phrase......when in doubt, set the hook!
  9. Ive tried a bunch of ways and found a 3700 series Plano works the best for me. It holds 24 compartments. I put each color and each style together. 3 North Star Blacks or Flip n Swims will fit into each space. Extras I keep on the wall. I use about 22 different North Star Jigs and with storing them together, I don't have to worry about weight, color and head size.
  10. Main reason, when spending over 100-200-300 etc on a reel/rod, people want a specific reel or rod to pair with each other. If you paired a Shimano Chronarch on a Crucial rod, your limiting your sales to a few specific people that want that combo. Separate them, and you open your market up to people that want one or the other.
  11. For the 100 dollar mark, I really like the St. Croix mojo. You've mentioned several different techniques. A good 6'6" or 7' MHF might fit the bill.
  12. Heck ya I'm in. I love these.
  13. Cool. With adding the new plastics, are we going to see more colors of tubes? If I could get a yellow green and a falcon lake color and a blue green I'd give all my SK's and Berkeley's away
  14. Thanks. I'll grab some on my next order.
  15. After a bunch of switch ups, change ups, I've finally found my set up. I settled on an Avid 6'6" MF with a Curado 50E. I had a bunch of people recommend Sunline Supernatural Mono in 12#. I can't see any reason to go with a 7 gear reel. 25-26 IPT feels perfect for me. As for colors, I'm still experimenting with some myself. I've been doing good on Ghost blue and bright colors.
  16. I'm looking through the colors of the Ver 2's and not sure on what colors to get for my waters. Most are pretty much stained 2-3 feet of visibility. At 4-5 feet the ghost colors, especially blue have been fairly good so far. Thanks in advance
  17. Jigs jigs jigs and jerkbaits
  18. Dude, I havent laughed that hard all week lol
  19. Can those fools even afford let alone use a drone?
  20. Remember you can purchase an extended warranty pretty cheap with them. 3-4 years on a rod or reel is a pretty good warranty for them. Some of the lower quality BP reels don't get the best of all reviews, but the higher end models get pretty good reviews. The PQ for one, gets recommended here by Shimano, Diawa, ABU etc guys all the time for the best reel in the 80-100 dollar mark. I've been told the same by MGR's there about certain customers or products they will extend it out further, but some do and some don't.
