  1. I use spinning for the mini flukes. Had a rod with extra fast action and it was ripping the hook out of the nose and fluke. Got a 7' m fast mojo bass problem solved. Thanks for all the advise.
  2. Ah it's an old Johnson spinning reel and you have to switch between no drag and completely tightening the drag down to stop the fish.
  3. I'm Evan. I've been lunking awhile for a little while. I live in upstate ny and try and find a bass in the smallest hole. Anyways I do this to be outside and living. I like nice gear but also enjoy catching a fish that on a reel with no drag. If some mods read this. The site is great but can someone tell me how to modify and upload a profile pic.
  4. Does anyone else catch a lot of fish when their absent minded? Seems like every time I reach for a smoke, my cell or just fart around I catch a nice one. Maybe that's something telling me to slow down.
  5. I love my flukes and I know some guys throw them on spinning gear but I prefer casting. I'm looking for a quality fluke rod for a100 bucks. I'm open to any suggestions. But right now looking at a 6'6 or 7 ft med mojo bass am I on the right track?
  6. White or white fluke with chartreuse tail
  7. It's my new favorite way to fish catch them all day
  8. The rice trick has worked for people I know that have gotten cellphones wet. So it should work on other electronics
  9. Thanks for the info I was looking at shorter than 7 bc I fish from the shore in tight places and a small boat. I found a Powell endurance online for a 100 bucks but it has an xterm fast tip. Think I could get away with it?
  10. Im looking to refine my trig senko fluke set up I have two basic question brand name and price aside. Reels - would a 6.4-1 or 7.1.1-1 be better? Rods - looking at 6-6 to 7 med hev would a fast or ex-fast tip be better? Thanks for the input.
  11. Zoom super fluke white
  12. Thanks Glenn. I watch all your videos always very informative. If the rod had snapped right below the tip is the process basically the same?
  13. Great thanks for the info
  14. The tip of my rod snapped off is there anyway to repair it. I see they see replacement tips at Wally's. How would one go about doing so?
  15. I've been fishing seriously for about 6 years. 3 years ago I got a decent spinning setup and this year a baitcaster. Point in you don't need great gear to catch fish especially if you don't fish a lot. There's a ton of great info on here about products and techniques if you want to get into it more but if not get some 8 lb mono for the larger setup for bass and some 4 or 6 for bluegill. Get some night crawlers and have some fun this weekend!
  16. Zoom mini flukes
  17. I have the 6'9 med spinning great rod. Just wish the quality at my 2!!! Local dsg's was better for the casting models
  18. Was looking at 6'i8 med hvy couldn't find a single one with straight guides. Good luck
  19. Any body have any tips or refer me to some good videos? Thanks
  20. I fish a creek pool about 100 feet left to right and 20-50 front to backs. Recently a small pike 15 inches or so moved in and is super aggressive I caught him twice in an hour. My question is I usually slam the few small to average bass in there and nothing tonight. Do you think the pike would cause the bass to leave that specific pool ? I'm in upstate ny.
  21. Its funny you asked that. I bought a mf last night and actually found I prefer my mh for weighted plastics, senkos and flukes.
  22. Could I still throw lighter baits with a lews tp or would in be better to get a 50 size curado or chronarch?
  23. I've done the same with a single tail grub. Works good
