I use spinning for the mini flukes. Had a rod with extra fast action and it was ripping the hook out of the nose and fluke. Got a 7' m fast mojo bass problem solved. Thanks for all the advise.
I'm Evan. I've been lunking awhile for a little while. I live in upstate ny and try and find a bass in the smallest hole. Anyways I do this to be outside and living. I like nice gear but also enjoy catching a fish that on a reel with no drag.
If some mods read this. The site is great but can someone tell me how to modify and upload a profile pic.
Does anyone else catch a lot of fish when their absent minded?
Seems like every time I reach for a smoke, my cell or just fart around I catch a nice one. Maybe that's something telling me to slow down.
I love my flukes and I know some guys throw them on spinning gear but I prefer casting.
I'm looking for a quality fluke rod for a100 bucks.
I'm open to any suggestions. But right now looking at a 6'6 or 7 ft med mojo bass am I on the right track?
Thanks for the info I was looking at shorter than 7 bc I fish from the shore in tight places and a small boat. I found a Powell endurance online for a 100 bucks but it has an xterm fast tip. Think I could get away with it?
Im looking to refine my trig senko fluke set up I have two basic question brand name and price aside.
Reels - would a 6.4-1 or 7.1.1-1 be better?
Rods - looking at 6-6 to 7 med hev would a fast or ex-fast tip be better?
Thanks for the input.
I've been fishing seriously for about 6 years. 3 years ago I got a decent spinning setup and this year a baitcaster. Point in you don't need great gear to catch fish especially if you don't fish a lot.
There's a ton of great info on here about products and techniques if you want to get into it more but if not get some 8 lb mono for the larger setup for bass and some 4 or 6 for bluegill. Get some night crawlers and have some fun this weekend!
I fish a creek pool about 100 feet left to right and 20-50 front to backs. Recently a small pike 15 inches or so moved in and is super aggressive I caught him twice in an hour. My question is I usually slam the few small to average bass in there and nothing tonight. Do you think the pike would cause the bass to leave that specific pool ? I'm in upstate ny.
