  1. Detailed, informative, and nice fish. Great Report. Nice job.
  2. I like baitcasters for bigger cranks/top waters and spinnerbaits. That's about it. I prefer the feel of spinning reels and there drag systems. Oh yea Kermit goes on a baitcaster too.
  3. Try to find a freshwater spring or drainage pipe
  4. Thanks alot guys Unfortunately this spot is not immune to the dreaded bucket fisherman that keep every fish they catch regardless of size or season but somehow it still produces.
  5. With the river flooded and the water looking like chocolate milk it's been slow for me with the river fishing and smallmouth. Since it hasn't rained around here for a few days I figured I'd hit one of my favorite spots. A drainage pipe that feeds into the river. Well the action was on. I literally had a fish, bite, or chaser on almost every cast. Below are some of the more noteables size or color wise. I caught them all except the two in the dark on that new havoc Ike jerk. Which might become my new back up to the fluke Please pardon the poor picture quality. I guess I have shaky hands and was trying to get them back ASAP. These guys were a ton of fun on my light action rod and in the current were fighting like mad and giving the drag a good work out. Thanks for looking
  6. I'm sure he's sulking around his 20 million dollar pad with his wwe girlfriend who just got him some take out in the rolls
  7. 6'8 m/f spinning rod 10lb braid 3/0 ewg or 6'6 mh/f bait caster depending on what's already tied on either rod.
  8. I don't know what state you're in but in New York no. Funny story; I got busted without my license once. I left it in another tacklebox. The officer said just mail In a copy with the ticket and problem solved. The license has the issue date on it. So I mailed in the ticket with the license and got an appearance letter back. Called the court and the clerk told me I had to appear in front of the judge anyways. The only day the town court was open was a day I had a college night class. I was able to get the date postponed once then had a big test on the next date. I had to get a family friend who is a lawyer to get it postponed again. Long story short it took about 5 months to get it straighted out and the lawyer had to go to court with me. I ultimately was let go "in the interest of justice". Make some copies of the license and keep them in different places.
  9. Nope to me it's part of the game I fish for fun not money or prestige. Sometimes losing or missing a fish is part of the game to; it happens. I feel like getting skunked or missing a fish keeps me coming back and on my game. Fishing is a sport of highs and lows just like life. Like others have said sometimes it makes you think outside the box and try a different approach. I'm just happy to be outside and doing something I enjoy.
  10. ^^^What this guy said.
  11. I like to throw craws when the bottom is rocky or when I see dead craws on shore or in the water.
  12. I use a leader for two reasons. 1. Easier to break off. 2 easier to re-tie.
  13. I'm pretty sure the site doesn't accept paypal or credit card. Money order only; stay away.
  14. Hey joe. Lots of good advice in this thread. Like rockchalk said a 1/4 spinner is going to act like a sail. Heck I can't even cast them very far with a spinning reel without a grub or fluke on the hook. Maybe you should try something like a fluke like glenn did in his video. By casting a more aerodynamic bait you might get the technique down better that will allow you to cast other lite baits. I mentioned in a post awhile ago I spent alot of time and money on casting setups capable of throwing light baits specifically flukes but now prefer to throw them on spinning tackle anyways. If you have a spinning rod honestly that's what I'd use.
  15. Nice job. There's nothing like wading for river smallies. Are you going to be making that 3 hour trip a couple times more now?
  16. Get paid to fish and fish some of the best and newest gear available. Yeah I'd be excited too.
  17. You can find stradics brand new on ebay from reputable sellers from 135-145
  18. Wow that's crazy for a reel that costs more than 2 bills. It almost looks like the reel stem is plastic.
  19. Nice northeast bass. Great video as always.

    2 For 1

    Awesome
  21. X2. One time cotton wood caused me a massive backlash on a fresh spool of braid. It took me almost an hour to back and pick it out but the line was all good. I prefer standard guides for many of the reasons listed about.
  22. Not trying to argue or discredit your opinion but comparing the powell 683 to my loomis 783 the powell feels more powerful. Also not trying to hijack the thread but what med heavy are you comparing it too.
  23. I have the 683cef and it was the first real casting rod I ever owned. When I got it; it felt like a broom stick to me. I was used to ugly stick and cheap $20 dollar casting rods. Now that Ive used itand other higher end casting rods I am amazed at its versatility. I used mine now for frogging with 40lb pp but its great with spinnerbaits, traps even senkos. TT did a review on the rod and they were casting 2oz castasic swimbaits on it. So it's definetly a versitale rod and I think you would be happy with it as a spinnerbait rod.
  24. My friend uses it. I don't know if you have a specific question in regards to it. He catches fish just fine. I use high vis yellow and have no trouble catching fish with no leader with moving baits.
  25. This is a great tatic. I do the same thing. Many times people bid in round numbers. If you do like Marty says and say bid something like 20.37 it will throw them off for the next bid and those few seconds could be all you need to win.
