  1. That looks like the seaguide xss seat. Seen here... Looks very similar to the fuji tvs. I've done some more research but still am confused. I think fuji tvs needs an insert if the blank doesn't fit. Don't now about seaguide xss? Anyone know how much some of the inserts weight? I thought I read somewhere they were an ounce or two? op hope I'm not hijacking here.
  2. Do those spinning seats have to use an insert like the pts seats?
  3. Thanks to another member I was finally able to round out the 3 amigos Gloomis IMX 844MBR-chronarch E7 Gloomis IMX 783MBR-conquest 100 Gloomis IMX 782MBR-curado 50e Not much these 3 can't handle.
  4. Lean to put line on yourself. When I first started I would go to dicks to have them spool the line and it was nothing but headaches. Look at some of the videos on the main page you might find one with instructions on how to do so.
  5. I'd give the daiwa a shot.....it got a pretty good review here. http://www.alanhawk.com/reviews/bg16.html
  6. Looking at the companies website I see 37 different premier spinning rods and 5 mojo bass spinning rods. The premier range seems to cover more varieties of fishing
  7. Thanks man. I'm lucky to have a great fishery in my backyard. About 800,000 gallons of raw sewage was dumped into the river over the summer, so I took some time off. River has bounced back though. Lots of young fish and some big ones still around. There tough fish.
  8. Starting to chub up for winter...
  9. Cost of bag of tubes divided by number per pack. Equals cost per tube. Look for lowest number.
  10. St croix 76 medium light fast. I believe they make it in a number of models
  11. Rotate the worm and re-hook works some and so does bitting a little off the top. Screw lock hooks might help too.
  12. Fluke, grub, tube, spinnerbait/Beatle spin and topwater. That's what I'd start as my 5 in the body of water I fish. Never caught a cold on a lipless crank. Have thrown all those on spinning and casting equipment.
  13. I would leave it alone. You might have to sand it before you apply epoxy and that is a very risky proposition.
  14. They probably do that....so if the rod has a problem aka break. One could not return it under warranty. Sealing it won't harm or help anything. 2 part rod epoxy should do the trick. You just have to apply it in very equally parts and turn the rod for a bunch of hours.
  15. Good for your bro man. Keep focused on that school work and get a good job. You will be able to buy all the bass toys you want and enjoy your moments on the water knowing you made a sacrifice to get there.
  16. So funny you posted this. I almost started a thread on the same subject the other day. The above lure a cheap $2 wal mart Cotten Cordell lure that has been in my tackle box for years got the skunk off my back the other day. I have wayyyy to many lures and have been making an effort to actually use them. Like I said I've never used it even though I've had it for years. I guess I moved on to "better" brands and lures. Mainly lucky craft but the other day after trying some staples on a quick trip and not getting anything. I said what the heck and tied it on bam first cast I caught a fish. Also caught my first fish on a buzz bait the other day. Posted in the latest catch pics thread.
  17. Geez almost a $1 a piece for a round head jig for a grub....can some of y'all pm me some stock or investment tips. At the rate I lose them I might need to tap my 401k to keep fishing.
  18. Custom pour round head. 1/8oz 1/0 mustad bln hook.
  19. First buzz bait fish
  20. Why do you need deck? Heres my boat I control the trolling Motor with one foot on the deck. My legs and back hurt the first few times but the human body has an amazing ability to o adapt. You face any kind of wind or current on the deck of a small boat you might end up in the drink. Being a foot or so higher in the water won't catch you more fish....have trouble working a rod get a shorter pole.
  21. Many baits would work for the techniques you listed. I'm sure a tube works just as good or better for any of those techniques. You forgot to list what makes the tube a tube...dragging or bouncing it of the bottom with an internal jig head.
  22. Lots of posts sound like I never caught a fish on abc that lure stinks but I kill them on xyz you should get that. Throw abc or xyz on any given day or in a certain condition and one could slay the fish. Ya never know...if the duck looks good give it a shot.
  23. Great choice st Croix mlf are my favorite rods for smallie fishing. I have 3 now.
  24. My little tw order....nothin fancy but very effective.
  25. Don't really have any opinions....usually try both and let the fish decide. Sorry it's not a great answer but it usually works. Used to fish almost exclusively trolling a grub and that worked quite well but was quite boring for me.
