  1. I did one over the long cold winter for insurance purposes. It helps to check here and there and keeps me from sometimes buying things. Do I need another popper when I already have 9? Lol.
  2. I don't think 4 inches will make that much of a difference. I would take into account your storage needs or if you will be around brush and stuff. I would opt for the 7'.
  3. Yes and no. Like someone else mentioned. The little ones for me are a complete pain in the ass. The big ones 7-8 plus are a lot of fun and in my opinion are easier to handle. My pb caught on a medium light spinning rod. Talk about holding on for the ride!!!!!!!
  4. I have some rage stuff, a couple batson rods and DVT has never let me down.
  5. I like a 6'6 medium heavy fast rod. Long enough to get some distance short enough to cast them into tight spots.
  6. Gloomis imx 783 Mbr shimano Calcutta conquest 100 Custom st croix sc3 7'0 mlf and shimano stradic 2500 fj
  7. Dear Raider, What happened to Tony Soprano?
  8. They might reel in fish but I'll park my dollars elsewhere.
  9. I'm disappointed you left the crack head hotel. It might provide more entertainment than the cabin.
  10. http://m.nydailynews.com/news/national/dog-shot-milwaukee-mistaken-lion-loose-article-1.2301820 I hope no lions get loose around here my dog looks just like that guy. http://youtu.be/eiYsIw20qVQ
  11. Best $15 bucks I ever spent I have 2 of them.
  12. I'm still waiting on my one tenth of a gallon.
  13. No questions just a story. I bought a trolling motor cheap last year at the end of the season. Being a second season boater I know nothing about these things. After lots of research I developed a game plan. I needed a bracket and after calling a few welder and machine shops I was close but no cigar. My dad said screw calling and let's go visit some of these guys. Af our second stop we got a lead on a shop that might be able to help us. Went there and got a custom bracket for $50 cheaper than any other quote I found and 1/4 aluminum to boot. Then came the wiring. Figured that out and wired it up today. As we were getting the wiring together my dad used a knife to strip off some plastic on the wire and cut his hand open. We bandaged it and like a boss he helped me finish the job. Called him around dinner to thank him again and he had just gotten back from emergency care. He needed 5 stitches in his thumb. Took the boat out for an hour tonight and I'm going to love this thing. Much better then anchoring all the time or having to use paddles. Thanks Dad I owe ya a beer and a pair of wire strippers!!!
  14. A lot of good advice above. What time of day are you fishing? If your not fishing early morning or in the evening around and past sun down, give it a try.
  15. I'm dizzy. Was it the knot? Was it the diameter of the lines? Higher test? Lower test? I don't think we will ever know.
  16. Sweeet!! what's up with the butt?
  17. Never had one fail that wasn't my fault. Time to go back to the drawing board. Remember sane way out as you went in.
  18. Nice^^^ Just wondering did you experience something like this? I picked up 3 supreme rover the winter for $40 a piece it was a no brainer. They have been good to be but the line management, wind knots, and the finish have been an issue for me. The finish not so much I don't really care. I get wind knots like crazy with these reels and only fishing an hour a day I'd rather fish and not putz with my gear.
  19. Looks good. You mix and match at all? Did they ever film cops in Polk county? I would imagine some other things might be going on Saturday nigh as well
  20. Jackal makes another shad that excels at the drop shot and seems to get the big mamas to bite. "I" can't disclose the name though.
  21. Really sweet. I always follow your builds and have to ask. No one ever wants a tennesse grip?
  22. I started building rods for the long term. It is much easier for me to spend the $$ over time than at one shot. I can purchase components over a period of months; meanwhile creating a vision of what I want this blank to do. When I got "serious" into fishing I decided I wasn't going to buy the new best $100 rods and end up with 5-6 meh rods. I would build them one at time based off what I learn on the water and where the techniques I like take me.
  23. The boat is yours now. You can do with it as you please fix it, flip it, or let the grass grow around it. Just because you have a boat doesn't mean you can't fish the bank get back to the basics. I beat the bank 2x as much as I take the boat out. It can be a production sometimes. I think you may have rushed the purchase of said boat and now your feeling guilty. You have to get over it and push forward. I wish buying a crappy boat was the worst one I made at 17...
  24. My bank beating gear.... Rainshadow RX7 sj781 pfluger supreme St croix avid 7'0 medium light fast and pfluger supreme ....and some fish slime
