  1. Are you going to shoot the guy before or after you pull the Pitts off? i would think if you shoot him with the Pitts on you might kill one. Shoot him with the Pitts off it might be insult to injury.
  2. He is in NY too.... A buddy of mine went on vacation in Florida and was so mad he couldn't get away from him.
  3. Anyone know anything about these rods? what they are called and if there are any other companies that make a lower priced model. See link below http://emt-pro.jp
  4. I believe that is the regular price due to the weak yen against the dollar. My cheapness has me holding out for more.
  5. Thanks for the replies guys. I signed up for a newsletter and will keep checking. That looks like a nice reel smallie.mike. I'm really hoping I can find a 13 on close out though.
  6. I second the Alberto. Do you mean recoil guides? I have a rod with size 1 single foot recoils on it and have not had an issue with the leader going threw the guides. You can hear/feel it but it has extremely limited if any effect on casting distance.
  7. I peruse some of the Jdm reel sites and rarely see sales. Just old models disappear and the new ones on there. I know the japanlureshop had some shimanos on sale awhile back but they went super quick. Is that the deal with other sites? Can you sign up to get email alerts? Seems like a bunch of new reels coming out would love to pick up an older model at a discount
  8. 1/4oz eagle claw tube jig and no name black tube. Bit a few feet from the bank.
  9. No the proper way to do it is get the lightest weight reel you can and add weight to the rod
  10. Topwater is my favorite. I really like the gunfish or academy knock off. Just seeing the explosion and then feeling the pull. I love it. Dragging a tube would be a close second. I like feeling something different and bamm fish on or sometimes stump or stick lol.
  11. I think it's called "Tommy tape" it's a self adhering silicone tape used in plumbing. It works really well for me. I have rods where I have used it all season without having to re-tape. The only reason I take the reels off is to clean the cork now and then.
  12. Ditto, only the most comfortable spinning reel seat out there, in my opinion.
  13. That's a good question. Frogs-lock it down. I like the drag to slip with a steady pull when I'm fishing weightless or trebles. If I'm fishing the bottom I go a quarter or half turn more. Simple but I hope it helps.
  14. 1/8, 1/4 and will soon be trying 3/8 all with 3/0 hooks. I like the hula grubs, flukes, zoom craws, grubs really any soft plastc. I usually drag the bottom with them.
  15. Lol things can get weird on the trails if you let them. Super dog definitely keeps anyone from another dimension at a reasonable distance if I want him to.
  16. Take your pick They are all good. I'm a spinning reel guy each one feels a little different but they are all smooth and quite frankly I wouldn't trade one for the other.
  17. 23 degrees with 22mph winds feels like 13. Cold enough super dog needed his cape i think you need some cheese....
  18. Try a zoom super fluke with a 3/0-4/0 extra wide gap or offset worm hook. Rig it weightless Texas style and twitch it twitch it with your rod tip then pause it. Lures with treble hooks are going to come back with lots of weeds if they are close to the bank.
  19. What kind of water are you fishing? Lake, river pond? Do you have any idea of the depth? Knowing these will help answer your questions. If you are getting your weights snagged a lot you would want to try a lower weight or different type of jig head. There is a lot of good info here and becoming more proficient will come with time on the water. 1/4oz is usually a good start for weight and 3.5-6 inches is good for length. In my opinion.
  20. "I believe it's just the earth going through its cycles it's done for millions of years" A quote from BigBill and his locked thread in the everything else sections. I'm going with that
  21. I throw whatever is easiest to untangle.
  22. 12 mono suffix or big game.
  23. I have a 60, its tiny going to throw it on my light action spinning rod. Seems to me it will be like a soft jerkbait; but hard. They also have big salt water ones but I think im just going to stick with my soft jerk baits going forward.
  24. Ajays post with the weights and descriptions should be pinned somewhere. That's great concise information. For 3.5 inch tubes I like a 3/0 hook. A great tip I learned on here was if the hook is making the tube bunch up was to cut a slit in the tube to make it sit correctly. This tip has allowed me to fish a variety of jigs in a tube. thats 10 bridge pillings there Fishing the front and back of the pillings I could lose 20 jigs in a trip. I try and find them around 25 cents a pop or less.
