I won the lottery yesterday, well actually I found a $20 bill on the floor, but it is still kind of the same thing.
Actually for real I'm still in school, but hopefully I will get a job. Probably in a sporting goods store.
I never melt my plastics to "fix" them. I prefer using mend-it, before I started using this, i would throw out a lot of senkos even if there was only one tear.
I would love for my high school to have a bass team. The only problem I see is getting people to donate there time to take kids out in there boat and also the Minnesota bass season does not start until the end on May.
My creek fishing experience is very minimal, but I had some success with the drop shot. I used a Yum 3" Mighty Bug in Watermelon Red and I would drag it on the bottom. I had a 6" leader so when dragged it the bait would be right of the bottom. This has been very successful for me, but again my experience in creeks is minimal. Hope this helps.
I use EWG on bulkier baits and on worms I typically use round bends I only use straight shanks when I am Flippin. I prefer Gamakatsu hooks they are sharp and they don't cost a lot.
I never target bass when I'm trolling. I target pike and walleye, but I do catch a occasional bass. When I am trolling on shallow flat I troll with Lipless Cranks and it works great for Pike and Bass.
I really like the XCalibur Xr50 in Pumpkin Seed and Tilapia I also like the Rattlin Rap in Fire tiger. These two work the best for me. I have the original Rat-L-Trap but I never fish it which I really should. I also don't have any of the red eye shads. I guess I will have to pick some up if they are really that good.
I have 3 favorite crankbaits that always seem to catch fish.
1st XCalibur XCS 200
2nd KVD 1.5
3rd Luck E Strike RC2 mostly because I have not yet gotten the chance to try the Lucky craft ones.
On Friday Cliff Pace sustained injuries when he fell out of his deer stand and he won't be competing in the Classic.
Here is the article http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/classic-cliff-pace-12714.html
I think it is really sad that this happen, Cliff seems like a good guy and it is terrible that he won't be competing. Lets all hope that he gets well soon.
Since the lake I mainly fish is very grassy and the water clarity varies from murky to stained water. I go with braid and sometimes with a fluorocarbon leader depending on the technique, the cover and, water clarity.
I just started drop shot fishing last year so I have not tried a lot of lure but the bait that I caught the most fish on was the Regular 6" Roboworm in Aarons Magic red & blue flake.
I would use mend-it on your soft plastics, since soft plastics can be expensive and they can tear easily. It does however leaves a scent behind but that is nothing that megastrike can't solve.
