  1. I understand how hard it can be to wait but I think it would be better in the long run. If you want to buy something right now, why don't you try getting one rod and reel combo and then holding off on the others untill better deals come up? It would be easier to wait if you already have a new combo to play around with. I'd advise, however, not to buy all of the the things you want right now because I think $600 isn't enough cash to buy 3 quality rods AND reels if you buy new. Good luck!
  2. I have a 6'9" M-M Carrot Stix Crankin' rod that I bought a couple years ago when I was on a crankbait craze. I haven't been fishing cranks very much lately and find that I hardly ever use it. Are there any other uses other than treble hook baits that this could work for? Does anybody use their regular crank rods for squarebills in cover or do you have to have a rod with more power? Thanks for any help you can give me!
  3. I'm not sure if this has came up recently or not so I'll just ask. How often do you guys re-spool your reels for each type of line? Say you are using it 1-2 times a week or less. I mosty use mono because of its price and I change it every couple weeks or before each tournament. Do most people keep FC and braid on longer than mono?
  4. Thanks for the words guys! I feel a little better now. I currently use carrot stix, st. croix mojo, and a bunch of sub $100 rods. I started off looking at rods in the 150-200 dollar range and just kept going a little higher, then a little more, and then for just this much more I could get this or that rod, all the way up getting this!
  5. Like the title says, I went ahead and ordered an 853c NRX dealer demo for $350. This is my first high end rod so I'm pretty pumped! I was just wondering if anyone has any sweet words of justification they want to say. After getting caught up in the moment I'm now suffering from the money spending hangover!
  6. This rod does come with the wild card warranty. I think I'll try to pick it up. This will also be my first rod over $150 so I'm pretty excited! Thanks for the help guys!
  7. They also have a 873c. I just thought the 853 would be a better all around rod.
  8. I recently found a retailer that has a 7'1 MH extra fast NRX that is a dealer demo for $350. Do you guys think this a good price for a rep sample NRX or could I find a used one cheaper if I keep my eyes open a little longer? Thanks for the help!
  9. Does anybody know if TW will take a discount with an item that is already on sale? I am looking at the Kistler Z-Bone LE that is on sale for $299 and I have a code for 10% off. Will this work? Thanks!
  10. Anybody have a chance to use/hold the Infinity yet? They look pretty strange but the couple reviews I did find were very good.
  11. I previously started a thread about iRods but didn't get any responses. I am mainly looking at the Air series. Ever use these?
  12. I just found out about these rods and am strongly considering one. Anybody have any experience with this brand, or more specifically the Air series?
  13. That's what I wanted to know. I don't have to get it for a month or two so I'll just hold off and wait for one of them to have a sale. Thanks for the help!
  14. I have been looking to purchase a new rod sometime in the near future and will probably order it. I always hear of sales at TW but have never bought anything there myself. Is there any annual sales events or discounts that will be coming up soon?
  15. Thanks for all the suggestions. I've looked at most of those and the powell endurance is one of the rods I've been considering. I'm just trying to find out about some of the lesser known/newer rods first to make sure I'm not missing out on something special. Like I said before, sensitivity is the main thing I'm looking for in a rod.
  16. Around $200 is what I've been looking at, but I'm willing spend more if I find something I like.
  17. It definitely isn't the prettiest rod out there, although if it works really good that would be more important to me. I've also been looking at the 13 fishing "*** Black" rod which is about the opposite of the cashion as far as looks. The *** is so new that I haven't really heard how it is performance wise though.
  18. Anybody ever used a Cashion rod? I am looking for a new jig/plastic rod and want the most sensitive stick I can get. I thought these look pretty interesting. I have only been able to find a few reviews and posts on them but for the most part they are positive. If anyone has used or seen these, I'd really like to know what you think of them!
  19. I like fishing hollow belly swimbaits but they always tear off the weighted screw lock hook after only catching one or two fish. Once the screw has been ripped out once it won't lock in anymore. Is there some tricks for making them last longer? Thanks for any help!
  20. I have an e21 carrot stix crankin rod (6'9'' M-M) but I don't use crankbaits a whole lot anymore. What other common techniques could I use this rod for? Thanks for the help!
