  1. Is there a code?
  2. I know why the Mach swimbaits are discounted. The metal joints are painted over and the sections do not move freely, they get stuck sideways often. I haven't try it in the water yet, but I don't have high hopes.
  3. Can you read the line dial with the reel mounted on the rod?
  4. Not too heavy for bearings?
  5. I often use 3/0 circle hook for wacky senko fishing. I find that once they are hooked, it is very rare for them to get off. The only negative that I see with the circle hook is that you don't get to do a hook set. I do barbless sometimes if I want an easier release. But I don't really see a difference.
  6. Black and blue jig!
  7. Having a housekeeper is a one way door, once you get one, you can never "not" have one.
  8. Another tip to keep the superglue from drying out is to keep it in the fridge between fishing trips. The moisture in the air is what activates the glue.
  9. I have both the 201A and the 5501C3. The Cardiff can be used for catfish, but when using my preferred 20lb mono, it hold less line than I'd like. So the 5501C3 is my preference for catfish. But the cardiff is a great reel for bass.
  10. If fishing lures are like stamps, then those defective flukes would be worth a bunch of money. I'd say hold on to them just in case.
  11. I use one for wacky fishing. And the big benefit is once the fish is hooked, it is almost impossible for it to throw the hook.
  12. You might even get some bites on that worm nibblet.
  13. I found that a slender bait such as a fluke will hunt much better than a craw with 2 arms flapping. I think that the arms in the back will cause drag that reduces the hunting action.
  14. I saw the bright orange Xfinity MH rods at Walmart tonight. I personally thought that the tip is a bit soft to be used for a frogs. But depending on your technique, it may work for you. I was very surprised to see that it was rated up to 2oz, considering the soft tip. I was not able to find a price checker so I just put it back and walked out empty handed.
  15. Nice snakehead. Where did you catch it?
  16. Does it make a different sound?
  17. I normally fish the inlets where streams feed into the lake/pond after a big rain. I can typically catch a few there, seems that fish are waiting for food to be washed in. As for the fish that are inactive. They might have filled up already. Not sure just a guess.
  18. What is that? Sounds pretty cool.
  19. I would recommend Big Game 8lb line. It is a great line for everything you mentioned.
  20. If i had to do one, i would use a zman worm to make sure i don't have to rig again if the worm tears.
  21. The action looks pretty enticing.
  22. I have used 6lb line on my baitcaster before without many issues. I just have to be sure that after catching a nice sized fish, I check the line to make sure it did not dig in before making the next cast. I also do that when I have to pull free from a snag. With the 6lb line, I typically have the drag set pretty loose so the line digging in is not usually a problem.
  23. Maybe try a small jerkbait on the end.
  24. I've tried the cps springs for nose hooking flukes and for dropshots. It seems that if a fish jumps and shakes its head, the spring will rip out of the plastic baits. I have better luck with springs when used with t-rigs.
  25. I'd like to see some with a hook point against their finger 50 ft out and using mono line to see if the hook has trouble penetrating because of the "stretch". You can also try with a hook in your mouth, but that would sound a little mean.
