  1. I have been using the SK tungsten for punching and was just curious if you guys prefer another brand and why, what are the pros and cons of what you use
  2. I like swim jigs o be honest since bass are usually eating shad near the shore I jut try to immitate the shad in the lake, make it appea wounded and large and I usually get quite a few.
  3. I like 5 inch swim senkos cut down, as well as havoc soft body swimbait cut down, and Gambler has one I like too just trim them down enough so the skirt won't hinder the tail action and don't be scared of a big bait my swim jigs usually measure 5-6 " and I have caught anything from 8oz to 5+ pounds, remember a bass will try to eat anything up to Half there size
  4. I use a 7-6 heavy rod 65 lb yellow pp and a revo s drag maxed. When I get a strike as soon as I see the line pulling I swing as hard as I can straight up and I get about 60-70% on average
  5. x2 super soft and super durable caught around 45-50 on mine in the last 2 weeks and it only has minor marks on it
  6. For me the northstar flip and swim has been the deal, at 3.50 a jig they arent that bad to replace and they have all the colors and patterns I look for in a swim jig, come through clean and hold trailers well. I have no complaints and the customer service has been good to me. The "away-rig" or punch rig is also a great way to fine tune and find what the bass want if the jig bite is tough. I use a similar setup except I use paycheck punch skirts, I also punch a lot without a skirt using a ragecraw or lobster the only thing I change between the 2 is I use a 3/4-1 1/4 tungsten with the skirt and without I prefer a 1/2 oz Stanley wedge weight
  7. Hahahahahahahahahabahahahahahahahahaha Nice catch man
  8. Try a swimjig that matches the hatch using a 4 inch single tail grub trailer, just let fall and then yank it up let it fall like a dying or struggling baitfish even though it is a total of around 5 inches long you catch everything from Dinks to hogs. I use almost exclusively swim jigs in ponds now I would recommend the north star flip n swim, great colors for matching forage and a stout hook

    Evolve

So I got my order of evolve vibra grubs yesterday and I will be goin out tomorrow morning how have you guys fished these with success. I was thin jigging deep and trying them punching pads
  10. I always use the yamamotos because they are softer and I feel have better action, also Yama has the best color scheme soft plastics on the market... Also jut opinion
  11. Tape em. That's what I do anyways
  12. I don't dO too much shore fishing but this place is Similar to a reservoir I used to fish, I always went to the d**n there and was throwing football jigs as far out to the deep as I could and try to get it up against a rock and just shake and let te rattle entice the bite. It is a lot tougher in the summer from shore but the deeper you can get out on points the better luck you will have try wading out as far as you can I your not having luck from the shore
  13. When the square bill bite is on I really only use 3 different colors just in different sizes and depths. I like a shad pattern, red like a craw, or chartreuse with a black back. Just chose based on water clarity, I am a big fan of the xps square bills tbh try produce well or me and I really like that try are silent as well. But I wouldn't get to hung up on color just make sure your presentation is right and you will catch them
  14. I have 2 370 boxes of just jigs one is all black and blue or just black and a few white all different head shapes and weights usually 3 of each and the other is all green pumpkin or brown. Then a plastic bin at home with extras for when I lose them to restock the 370s
  15. Everyone pretty much nailed it they look like grass/swim jigs and that big full skirt will attract fewer but generally bigger fish I would put a bulky compact trailer and fish it in the thickest cover you can find. The white though would topically be for swimming as it mimics a baitfish also for bed fishing because it will be easy to see and you are just trying to tick them off into a bite.
  16. I have a lot of success with very large spoons in the summer when a lot of people I talk to are struggling and I am catching 30+ fish in 85 degree water on a 1oz 5 inch spoon tht I spray painted black stipes and dots on a chrome spoon.
  17. Awesome thank you guy a bunch I reckon I'm gonna order a few dd22 to get me started and maybe some 5xd/6xd
  18. Trying to expand my fishing techniques more into cranking deep to be specific because I do throw squarebills a lot in fall/spring. I am looking for a good line of deep cranks from 10-20 feet any suggestions or what you guys are having luck on
  19. Stradic 2500 is a great real and if well maintained would last forever , and you also could not give me a glock XD, something about plastic sights makes me sigh and stay with my kimber. Not a new kimber though because they are now junk but one made when kimber was a great company.
  20. So the other day I bought a veritas 7'6 mh for a back up jig rod, well I didn't know much about them and I bought the "winch" model.... Just found out it is a cranking rod and really feel like an idiot, thought it felt limber in the store but it was light and had good reviews. This ever happened to anyone else lol.
  21. I got my girl the pflueger pink rods n reels and she likes them a lot, I wish she would take my cute lures all she ever uses is a t-rig junebug senko and always manages to catch a pile f keepers... Drives me insane
  22. When it gets hot I fish deep points and creek channels or pads/slop. Big slow moing baits seem to be te key deep, I guess fish look at it as a big easy to get meal and for slop and pads frogs and punch rigs a lot still sticking with bigger baits.
  23. I lost one too now I only use it on creek channels and other hold points I definitely avoid cover with it lol
  24. 4-5 inch senko wacky rigged fish it slow you will catch bass anywhere in the USA with a senko either green pumpkin or junebug I don't like them anymore but if I am really struggling they always seem to get me something
  25. I love the 3x chunk they are very buoyant. Make my 3/8 fall like a 1/4 and the claws always stand up. Maybe not the most popular trailer but I love them, just wish elastech didn't melt so easy
