  1. Hey fellas, anybody do in fishing in ponds or lakes around Raleigh? I'm a student in town and I'm trying to go some where and fish but Lake Raleigh and Lake Johnson aren't hitting on too much. If yall know anybody with a pond or two that wouldn't care if I fished it that would be awesome. I'm not trying to keep any fish, trying to kill some time.
  2. finding bass from the shore is tough, you can't go deep and this time of year that's where the fish are. if you wanna catch a catfish find where you think the water is flowing, like a channel and toss out any kind of bait like a small bait fish, bread, chewing gum, any kind of meat. the biggest catfish I've caught I was using leftover steak from dinner that was covered in garlic powder... I have no idea why I put that on it but it worked that one time that one night. and be patient this time of year is not good for the shore fisherman
  3. if a column is in the water then I generally take a drop shop rig with a 4-5 inch worm and drop it down around the column. if there are rocks around the bridge then I take a crank and throw it against the rocks and run it into the rocks on the bottom. all the noise generally attracts fish.
  4. a little dab of super glue goes a long ways
  5. I've always had luck in ponds (in the summer) fishing at around 4-5ish and using plastics. I reckon the water temp and strength of the sun coming through the water is too much for mid day.
  6. I am from Browns Summit, I won't be able to fish in Raleigh until classes start and I move back to my apartment. So late August and September
  7. @ jnatale3 and @ sbrown322 I go to NC State and I'm always trying to fish the small ponds. I don't take a boat to school, so is there any chance we can maybe meet up and fish when I return to school?
