  1. What do you want for it? willing to do some trading? I am looking for a rod in that range. Great find!!! finders keepers.
  2. Have an old Lews speed spool BB-1 by Shimano. Can't remember where I go it but was trying to figure out what it is worth. Any help?
  3. My 2 cents I own a WS Ride 115 and my buddy has the WS Tarpon 120. Both Great yaks, ride is more stable and the tarpon is a little faster. Both are awesom and a SOT is by far the way to go. Honestly if you are not hung up on buying new then look for a good used one. Well worth the time and money to get a quality used over a cheaper new one. I did months of research before I bought mine and have been happy ever since.
  4. Just a Thought, the new Dodge 1500 is offering a ECODiesel. plenty of torque and 28 MPG. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2014-ram-1500-ecodiesel-v-6-first-drive-review
  5. I can but it would take a lot of paddling!!!! In that analogy you are comparing a runner to a car. you can travel farther and faster but I can be more versatile in shallow water and I am quieter. Also If I was going to fish 2 places 5 miles apart I will put in up stream and fish one spot and go with the flow to fish the 2nd. when I am done I will have a 2nd vehicle waiting to catch a ride. We do this a lot and I never kayak alone so it is a given for me. Most of my kayak fishing is float down stream or lakes and it fits my need better and I like them more. Just my opinion. take it for what is is worth
  6. Yes you can stand up and fish in them. I have done it a lot. Even on a moving stream. It is pretty nice. You will not be disappointed with the ride series kayaks.
  7. I have a Minn Kota Maxxum 54 trolling motor. It was given to me if I can fix it. I am still testing a few parts but all is pointing back to the circuit board is bad. The recomended replacement part number is #2884052. About anywhere I can find the part is $200. Here is my delima. is a 10+ year old trolling motor worth $200 fix?? does anyone know where I can find this a lot cheaper??? Just dont know that much about this motor and it may be worth it just need some opinions. Thanks Brian
  8. I have a Ride115 and would not trade it for 2 Jon boats. It paddles so easy, with minimal effort i have outrun jon boats with 40lb thrust trolling motors. when setup right they are a lot of fun and just find a nice used one cheap so when you have someone you want to take with you. I now own 4 and are worth there weight. Good luck on whatever you get.
  9. Been fishing a WS Ride 115 for several years and I love it. Agree with the above comment as to fish it a couple of times before you mount stuff. Kayaks are too much fun!!!! I seem to like the shorter rods in the kayak for ease of use. Enjoy
  10. I agree with the Stradic fj recomendation!!!! I have one and love it, Well worth the money!
  11. I run a 3' spinning rod for the kayak. I actually like it a lot handles well. several 4'6" UL and L rods for wade fishing. They are fun and easy to cast all day. most of the casting rods are 6'6" and up mostly river rods or large lure rods. My Favorite combo right now is a Revo SX 1000 on a Fenwick 5'6" HMG light rod. Just an awesome little setup.
  12. Thanks so far. Was thinking of a copolymer for the 2nd rod. I am a fan of the YoZuri line on my spinning reels. He is pretty proficent with a baitcaster so I am thinking Power Pro line? 30lb on it and a 12lb copolymer. Put 10lb floro leaders on both???
  13. So I am talking to the neighbor this weekend and he is having problems with his Tour PTi reel. I offered to work on it for him and he took me up on it. He brought me back both of his setups. A Tour PTi and Smoke. He says to Go through them both and put new line on them both. I said Braid or what? He said 1 braid and 1 something else. I said ok, I will get them ready. I have several bait casters but normally use spinning reels. What would be the best line for these 2 setups? Both reels are on 7' ish Rods. 1 MH and 1 M. I will use a Floro leader on the braid but what other line would be the best or best to use braid on both. I am learning more myself and using his money to learn :-)
  14. Cool thanks for the info Lets try these photos the first ones were scaled down for size so I went to photo buckett. Here is one my buddy caught on a KVD Square bill
  15. It is a Bluegill it was around 11" long and put up a good fight. Mumpy, What is a Wacky rig Tool? I went through a pack of Gary Y's in about an hour and that can get expensive. Need all the tricks I can get. I like the 1/32 bullet weight as when I raised the rod tip it made a clicking sound against the Hook. Maybe that is good or bad???
  16. Don't know if I was doing it right but it worked somewhat. I was running no weight or a 1/32 oz bullet weight and a 2/0 finess hook. Was using Yum Digger and Senkos. Cought several nice bass (all under 2 lbs) and 1 Hybrid on it. I have to post pics of the Hybrid. He took the whole 4" worm and hook in his mouth. I may be fishing it a little too fast but i am still trying to get the hang of it.
  17. I ordered a Stradic FJ. I wanted a shimano and had not researched it and after I did I like it. If anyone is looking for the supreme XT I will see if he still has it and pass on the deal. Just let me know if interested. Thanks for all the opinions.
  18. Thanks for all the advice. I am a little more enlightened and confused at the same time. Lol. Thanks.
  19. No reason so I will add it. Should I take off the Supreme XT? I just know where a Supreme XT is NIB for $80 that is why it is on there
  20. Good info. I done use flush mount rod holders though. Dont mean I wont get them in the future.
  21. OK So I am ready for at least 1 really nice spinning reel. I just traded for a really nice Gloomis Mossyback spinning rod and want to pair it up with a comperable reel. I am Currently using a pair of Johnny Morris Signature series(JM10 and JM20) reels on Shimano rods(Compre and Claris) and really like them. I have looked at so many reels my head is starting to spin. (no pun intended LOL) I mainly bass fish and from a Kayak most of the time. I am not easy on equipment as that is just my nature. so I need a reel that will last and preform. mainly looking to stay in the JM20 size reels, dont need anything any bigger. The ones I am narrowing it down to is Shimano Stragic CI4 Quantum Smoke ABU Revo Pfluger Superme XT and The Johnny Morris Carbon lite. I am looking for goods and bads on all. Thanks for helping make up my mind. (I have paypal loaded up so if you also have one for sale)
