  1. Megabass Bait X concept.
  2. Tiny baits, light line, slow presentations.
  3. It 's just because it continues to surface, every 5-6 months it appears again.
  4. I wouldn 't recommend Bassmasters anymore, compared to what it used to be. Bassin ' has good articles.
  5. That 's esy for me, you don 't want to spend another minute in my company after a week without fishing, she begs me to go ! ;D
  6. Yes they do, a bass will eat anything, from mosquito larvae, water fleas to any kind of animal small enough to fit into it 's mouth, which include other fish, mammals like rats and mice, and ducklings. Larger catfish most probably are not eaten on a regular basis, after all those spines don 't make them very "edible" but smaller catfish is another story.
  7. What makes it look "perfect" ? the fact that it looks perfect for you doesn 't mean they find it perfect, the weather conditions, water conditions, type of bottom, etc. dictate if the fish will be there at that particular time and determine which bait is better suited for that spot. Spinnerbaits are almost all around baits because they are probably the most versatile lure ever invented so most probably you 're not choosing the right spinnerbait for the job or you 're not working it at the proper depth or at the proper speed.
  8. There 's nothing special or fancy about them, I 've bred them for years to stock the lakes located around the city where I live in, besides, the only way to keep the hybridization percentage in 50/50 is by keeping them in an all F1 poupulation, stock them in an all Florida strain or an all Northern strain population and the hybridization percentage drops, after 5 generations of breeding outside the hybridazation they become pure strain again. And no they are not more agressive than regular bass.
  9. There 's nothing wrong in keeping fish as long as they are of legal size and you 're taking your allowed daily limit, catch and release if not done properly causes the population to collapse, too many predators too little food result in stunted fish. Bigger fish don 't suffer from starvation and are not affected by excessive population of smaller fish, the reason is simple, they eat smaller fish and every year they create their own food supply, it 's the smaller fish who suffer from starvation, there 's not enough food around to support them and make them grow. Besides, limits in size and quantity are established by the biologists, the people that harvest fish are doing exactly what the law allows them to do, also, they have already paid for those fish, fishing license fees are one of the ways money returns to the fish and wildlife service.
  10. It is then and there that I reach for the trusty BPS master catalog. About a half an hour later, I hear the question, "Did you die in there?" Are u shure your wife and mine aren 't related ? mine says exactly the same to me ;D. Of course I switch from the Angler 's Catalog to the Saltwater Catalog and to the Hunting Catalog, also I have a nice collection of fishing magazines at hand, it 's unbelievable the ammount of information you can get just being there doing your business. My kid is 2 years old and we take him to the daycare center during the morning, his teacher asked us if we could send some magazines for him to cut out pics and stuff like that, well he went to school with a bunch of old BPS catalogs, it 's never to early inlife to break them in.
  11. I never pay attention to it, I 'm much more intersted in the weather conditions prior and the day I 'm going to be fishing than what the calendar is supposed to say, hundreds of times I 've fished when the calendar marked as poor and done a killing, weather is much more important than the phases of the moon.
  12. No sir I do not, when you gotta go to where the king goes by himself I always have my BPS catalog at hand, you have plenty of time to look at all the cool stuff.
  13. It depends a lot to whom you 're asking, to me 38 degrees is freezing ! , anywhere above 90 is in my comfort zone.
  14. No, there are more important things in this life than how much you spend on gas, like fishing.
  15. Since when we fishermen have even a little bit of sanity ? nobody in his right mind is going to be in the middle of the winter with subzero temperatures, freezing his butt trying to catch something through a hole in the ice or getting cooked under the blazing sun in the middle of the summer having his brains roasted at 110 ;D, which is a perfectly normal behavior for us.
  16. 53 days ! oh my, the last time I saw hard water here was...........can 't remember, water here is always in liquid form, the only solid water I see throughout the year comes in the form of ice cubes. ;D
  17. "Doctor" that prop, bend slightly forward the blades, it will create a lot more commotion and sound.
  18. The problem you 're facing is not with what but how and to find out how you have to look closely what features the hydrilla has. First of all how much "free" water is between the surface and the hydrilla bed, if the hydrilla touches the surface move to another spot, there 's nobody there, stand up and look at the hydrilla bed, a huge expanse of weeds of the same height is telling you that the weed bed is located upon a relatively flat surface, not a good place to look for fish either, but if you take a good look at it and even if the surface is big you will see "dark" spots, what those dark spots or openings are telling you is that the bottom is irregular, it has deeper places, now you have a breaking point, cast far behind those dark spots and reel in towards them, the momment your bait reaches the edge of the dark spot let your bait fall, normally fish are located in the cover right next to where the spot is formed. Avoid regular expanses of weeds, look for isolated patches. Isolated patches means that the bottom has different depths, isolated patches are irregular in shape, irregularities in the shape are what attract fish to them. Fish on the opposite side to where the sun is shining, bass prefer to stay in the shade, not because they are bothered by the sunlight, it 's because they can be seen by their prey so they will bury in the weeds but will stay close to where the weeds end and open water begins, opposite to where the sun is shining the shade will extend for several feet beyond the weed bed.
