  1. Then don 't bother looking or asking, they all are way beyond the GLoomis price ranges specially from the IMX; 35,000 yen and up for a base Destroyer.
  2. Volume discount, they purchase a big bunch, sell them cheap sacrificing the profit margin per unit in order to get a better profit by selling a lot, just to purchase a big bunch again. They got rid of 45 Scorpion 1001 in less than 3 weeks.
  3. A paste made with water and baking soda will remove the rust stain from the lure, just rub until it 's gone and then rub with a chamois to buff up.
  4. YIPEEEEEEEE ! Now all we need is to have Rick Clunn joining us. My favorite personalities are Doug and Rick.
  5. I 've got the Japanese version called AMAGO, they have very natural swimming action, only problem is they don 't dive, they are more like a topwater wakebait. Tried them for a while a couple of weeks ago, didn 't catch anything the day I tried them it was too windy. Did have several strikes but no hook-ups ( smaller fish ).
  6. "The BEST" is a highly subjective appreciation, what performs well for you may not perform well for me. Lines that I 've tried: Stren Original.- Good line until you find a sharp rocky place, it abrades easily Trilene XL.- for year I used it, better resistant to abrassion than SO Trilene XT.- resists well the abrassion but once you get above 12 lb test it 's like fishing with wire Big Game.- Same as XT Magnathin.- great line but the thin diameter makes it nick easily and stretches a lot. Rapala Finesse.- Like XL Rapala Tough.- "tough" is not there just because, it really tolerates well abrassion and it has low diameter even in the higher tests without being to wiry Magnum 7/20 & 14/40.- the best thing was that it was discontinued from the market long ago. The one I feel most comfortable with is Trilene Big Game.
  7. What do you think about light tackle techniques? A versatile angler has to adapt to the conditions, to how behavior of fish will be affected by those conditions, an angler that can adapt will be more successful than one that doesn 't adapt, you no longer let "luck" dictate, they don 't want to bite ? you make them bite. Is this a part of your fishing package? Yes it is, I always have at least one outfit rigged and ready to be called upon action in case of being needed. Have they worked for you? Certainly, I grew up fishing for trout in crystal clear impoundments, when I moved to bass country I discovered that bass can be as spooky as trout and the same techniques can be applied to them and they work.
  8. Compared to those ? hmmmmm, I don 't think so. Sodak, the Sol does NOT have a clicking drag adjustment.
  9. And the eight day of XMAS my true BaitMonkey gave to me: another Alphas Type F !
  10. If we 've got TDZilla in incubation I would suggest that since RM is going to have it in his shop a switch for some nice ceramic bearings ( at least those that support the spool ) would be a good adition to the baby.
  11. Papa 's suggestions are also great; I own both, Type F and Scorpion 1000, from those two I take Type F over Scorpion, casts a little better and with a little bit more control than the Scorpion but still, only because it weights less than the Scorpion. Add this one to the list of suggestions: $175 and is also a fantastic reel, BaitMonkey brought me another one about a week ago.
  12. The Sol is a better finesse reel than the Curado, has better braking system ( MagForce V ) than the Curado; but either are in the $200 range.
  13. TDZzilla in incubation.
  14. With an extra fast action....interesting Yup, lightning fast hooksets with a flip of the wrist. Castaway I 've got several reels worthy of sitting on such a distinguished rod, TDZ105, TDZ103H Custom, Alphas Itö, Alphas Type F, TDX Air Metal Hey Vyron I 've also got in my sights this one for crankbaiting:
  15. Worming n ' jigging.
  16. You did ship it by Fedex, UPS, Priority mail or something like that didn 't you ? If you didn 't ship it by a mean that requires signing of recipt you are screwed, if you did then track the number, there it will appear when it was delivered, the hour it was delivered and most important, who signed when the package was delivered. Print that information and send it to e-bay.
  17. Man you really dump a brick when you go to the marina just to find out your 600 K yacht just sunk.
  18. I think you want to go with the Stella, not because the Steez may not be top quality, it 's because if I remember correctly the Steez is only manufactured in shallow spool models ( 2506 only holds 100 yards of 6 pound fluorocarbon ). So unless you 're planning on do a lot of finesse fishing it may not be the best choice.
  19. With shipping included, 44,000 yens Gman, about 400 dollars. For me is fine, a GLX down here with the same characteristics costs 345 dollars plus 15% sales tax ( ) = $396. Soooo, it 's pretty much the same ammount of dough. Opposed to the US where the sales tax apply only to residents of a state the sales tax in Mexico is a Federal tax, no matter where you are from they punish you with the tax. >
  20. My take is that as long as you have the motor running the motor at a constant speed fish don 't bother at all, but speeding up then slowing down and speeding up again may have an effect on the fish closest to you making them spooky. The point is, I say it for this reason, I troll with the outboard on when I move from spot A to spot B that may be anywhere perhaps 5 or 600 yards away and most of the times I catch fish when trolling, I may even use trolling with the outboard as a way to find the fish. What can be more scary, the humming of a trolling motor or having a gas outboard passing over their heads ?
  21. God 's creatures defy human imagination: And those pictures are a pale image on how they look in the reality.
  22. I 's been a good boy throughout the year, eaten my cereal, drank my milk, obeyed my mom, given money to the poor, gone to church, followed St Peter teachings by being a fisherman, haven 't lied, given fishing advice, the BaitMonkey has taken me by storm in a few ocassions leaving me poor however my family has come first than the BM so I work really hard. If you don 't mind bringing me this rod for Xmas : I promise I will keep being a good boy. Sincerely yours Raul. What do you think ? :-? Convincing enough ? :-/ U think Santee is going to give me what I 'm asking for Christmas ? Or should I play safe and ask the BaitMonkey ?
  23. Well, that doesn 't look like a floating log to me.
  24. Any color is fine as long as it is black.
  25. Length 23 " Girth 22" BR weight calculator: 9.69833 lbs Actual weight at certified scale: 9.86 lbs Difference: 0.16 pounds BR 's weight calculator is quite accurate in my opinion.
