  1. Yes sir there is a machined handle for the Stradic, you can order a Stradic Mg handle from Shimano and it will fit the regular Stradic but you don 't want it because you said you didn 't want a FOLDABLE handle and even though machined the handle is foldable.
  2. The only one that can give an answer to your question is YOU, how YOU feel with fluorcarbon ? does it perform well for YOU ? If it ain 't broke don 't fix it.
  3. Megabass for many years produced sets of limited colors available only for a certain year, that color palette was only available one year and discontinued so the year the color pattern ( not the bait but the color ) adds collector value to the the lure. For example: the Bait X Concept in Twilight Orange, Twilight Chartreuse, Triple Illussion and PM BG was only manufactured in those colors in 2004. Some colors are very scarce which beefs up the price of the lure, the less common the more it costs. Most probably Redlinerobert saw one of those baits. Apparently Megabass is no longer keeping the same policy about the colors, recently purchased several MBs and the first thing I noticed was that none had the year of production painted on them, my older MBs have the year of production painted on them. Here 's one of those extra rare lures: Megabass Dog X Moon Walker Glow Chartreuse $200

Because you create a larger hole when screwing in it again, the hanger can fall or a fish can rip it away.
  5. When it comes to soft plastics I don 't have a "favorite".
  6. Built like a tank made to last forever.
  7. No difference, strecth or no stretch the action is in the rod not in the line, stretch counts when the fish pulls the line, BTW, fluoro indeed DOES STRETCH, a lot less than nylon but is not zero stretch like braided.
  8. They don 't cost $80, they cost $22 and if you shop around you can get them for $14-$18.

Hard evidence that the lip doctoring catches more fish, no, but it does sound great. Hard evidence that changing the hooks and attaching them via a split ring, yes.
  10. Aero is trademark name of the spool design of the Shimano spinning reel, so most Shimano spinning reels are Aero, like many Shimano baitcasters are Bantam. The Shimano Stradic MgFA is in practical terms the same reel as a Stradic with magnesium frame & machined handle, performance is the same in both reels. Sealed GEARS.......I don 't think so, sealed drag ( waterproof ) and sealed bearings most likely, but Stradics do not have sealed bearings because they come with ARBs and those aren 't sealed, Stradics also do not have waterproof drag; the Tierra does have waterproof drag and CRBBs ( same as ARBs ). Now let 's see, the Tierra is new, it took the place of the Capricorn so it must be a good reel ( the Capricorn was a good reel ), it has waterproof drag; the catch here is, the Stradic has been around for over a decade and it 's still is one of the best spinning reels around, it 's the old Curado of spinning reels. Just for that reason alone I would go for a Stradic, I know I 'm going to get a dependable bullet proof reel for the next decade or more.

Step 1: cut the lousy stock hooks the bait comes with ( DO NOT unscrew the hanger ) Step 2: replace the hooks with good quality razor sharp hooks with a split ring. Step 3: bend the line tie slightly towards the back Step 4: grab one flap of the cup and bend the lower part slightly upwards with your fingers Step 5: now grab the other flap and do the same. Step 6: grab both flaps and bend slightly forward closing the space between flaps.
  12. That makes two of us Muddy, grew up watching Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston, Roland Martin, Doug Hannon & Rick Clunn shows, so that means we 're getting really old. On the other side, it really depends on how the interview is conducted and how the questions are asked, if the conductor only makes questions about what lure they fished with but doesn 't ask what were the conditions that made the pro select W o X bait over Y or Z bait, how they worked it, etc, etc I don 't think it 's going to help you; but if the conductor asks in-depth questions and milks the information from the pro then it can be valuable.
  13. With all the stuff I carry Glenn they won 't
  14. Somebody, somewhere when the Mg reels thread appeared said that salted plastic baits could cause corrosion to you reel, so unless you planning to store your reel in your salty baits bag it 's something you should not have to worry about.
  15. Kool looking bait isn 't it ? got a couple I got from Japan before they were launched in the domestic market, wanna hear the truth ? it 's no better than other poppers ( without mentioning Megabass PopMax which is my favorite popper ), it does splash "more" water than ordinary baits ( the propeller helps a little ), a must, ? not really; you want it ? heck why not, it still is a pretty kool looking bait.
  16. Most of the baits and rigs you know were invented or designed buy someone with imagination and creativity.
  17. Better kill two birds with the same shot, send your reel to ReelMech for maintenance and get the book from him.
  18. Shimano says that the protective coating makes the reel salt safe ....... I don 't think so, better safe than sorry, somewhere ( only if I could remember the site ) I saw pics of a Scorpion Mg frame submitted to salty environment, it ain 't a pretty pic :-/, it looks like swiss cheese.
  19. Shallow running Fat Rap SFR 5 & 7, that thing is a bass magnet.
  20. Hahaha..........the buying spree begain.....oh about 15 years or so ago, and I really don't see an end in sight The monkey has me good. Watch out man, I shopped for a couple of reels n 'rods back in 1984, then it took me another 10 years to purchase another couple of reels n 'rods and from 1994 until 2001 I did not purchase any rods n 'reels .......the last five years have been catastrophic. If you see the mountain coming at you run as fast as you can, it 's a friggin ' landslide ! ;D
  21. "New" and fresh out of the assembly line may not be the same thing, but as ReelMech said, with Hor Sauce oil in it who knows, better take it back like he recomended.
  22. You must switch baits quite oftleny to uso 20% of what you carry, me ? well there I am, me, my rods n 'reels and a monster ammount of tackle just to discover that at the end of the day I fished with two crankbaits, a spinnerbait and 8 or 9 worms. :-/ Ah but carrying all the stuff sure makes me feel dressed to kill. ;D
  23. As soon as I can save up some money.......only problem is BaitMonkey gets to the wallet first.
  24. Guys, y 'all forgot to ask what line diameter he has in his reels. The heavier the line the more memory it will have.
