  1. Move SOUTH ! Down here in paradise the temps are in the 70 's, sunny clear cloudless skies. Too bad I have a business to take care of ........ wish I was a student like back in the 80 's. :'(
  2. Best fishing times by Raul: Go whenever you can, you ain 't gonna catch squat sitting on the couch watching TV.
  3. One thing I love about the Dead or Alive is that they blast on it, just enough to make your blood boil.
  4. Ice fishing rod ? now that 's a new one for me ( ), heven 't tried ice fishing with a rod and reel, somehow it seems difficult trying to ketch them ice cubes in the cooler with a rod ', reel n 'hook. ;D
  5. I have, the bait swims very lifelike and creates a nice wake, don 't let the bill fool you it barely dives a couple of inches, broke in one in November and had fun with it catching lots of small fish, no biguns came to pay it a visit.
  6. You can use it for deep cranking or slow rolling, you don 't like the ratio you can have it tricked for a higher ratio, the good thing with the Curado 200 model is that the parts of one are compatible with the other 2, it 's just a matter of changing the gears.
  7. Take the base power rating for example like the Extreme rod from BPS, M power for anything that has trebles on it, MH for everything with single hooks ( worms, jigs ), when selecting a spinning rod remember that the power rating is less than the one found in trigger rods, if it says MH it behaves like a M trigger.
  8. You mean like Pfleuger ?

    The Beast.

Hey, the only beast I 'm aware of is that dang furry critter on my back whispering incesantly in my ear: mo stuff !.
  10. Don 't ask me how many sinkers I loose during a dropshotting session, just let me tell you that after a while what I hate is that run out of sinkers in the middle of the session. >
  11. For that price range ( you are not going to find something interesting under $60 even though the Shimano Sedona is not a bad reel ) I don 't think you can beat the Shimano Sahara for $60 or the Daiwa Exceler.
  12. How well you know your lake ? what you dump in is as important as WHERE you dump it, a bunch of cinder blocks that are going to fall on a bunch of boulders isn 't going to do much of a difference, but a bunch of cinderblocks on a coverless flat is a completely different story.
  13. The package suggests 8-10 pound test line because the manufacturer gives a diving depth reference, if the manufacturer claims the bait runs at 8 ft then it 's 8 ft with 8-10 pound test line. If you increase the DIAMETER ( not the pound thest but the diameter of the line ) the bait will run shallower, if you do the opposite the bait will run deeper. The diving depth capability of the bait is theoretically 1 ft + or less ( depednding upon the case ) for every pound you change the line diameter.
  14. Now that 's funny. ;D
  15. Why does everybody have the idea that a nuclear device has to look like this ?: Or that is has to be delivered this way ?: or like this ?: Hasn 't anybody had the idea that a nuclear device doesn 't necessary has to be big bang bomb ? Let 's see ..... I 'm an islamic fundamentalist terrorist group and I want to create a nuclear device, can 't get my hands on enriched uranium, can 't get my hands on a termonuclear device like a warhead from an SS missile, those cost a ton of dough and you can 't get them in Home Depot ..... but I can get my hands on a big bunch of discarded X-ray units sold for a few hundred dollars at the army surplus supply stores that are so abundant all over the US, I open the X-ray unit, grind the cobalt inside them to the point of making it dust, then I purchase or rent a truck and then go to the nearest farm supply warehouse and purchase a big bunch of fertilizer, go to the gas station and purchase a bunch of diesel fuel, then to my trusty gun shop to purchase powder, then I go and purchase a bunch plastic trash cans, mix everything together and bingo, now I 've got meself a nuclear device, all I need to do is to detonate it in the nearest big city, the cloud of dust created from the blast is going to cover all the city and irradiate everybody in it. Scary isn 't it ? Who says they don 't have the ability to deliver a nuclear device inside US soil ?
  16. Jiggin, crankbaitin & woimin ' are KONTACT sports my man, if you ain 't fishin 'em where they hang up you ain 't fishin 'em in the right place. There ain 't no secret, with time, practice and lotz & lotz of brush feedings you learn to detect when the bait is going to hang up ........ after loosing a big bunch of stuff on the learning process, crap happens.
  17. I posted that information about IPT 's .... it must be around page 177 : The IPT in the Scorpion 1000/1001, Scorpion 1000/1001 Mg is 25".
  18. Most of my reels are Shimanos and Daiwas ( 1 to 1 ) with a few old Garcias in the pack. Daiwa HAD upper end reels for as long as Shimano but they were not for the rest of the world, JDM models only; now they decided to offer the rest of us mortals with a small sample of what they had for Japan.
  19. No contest, IMX by far.
  20. Well, beavers and otters belong to the same family, kinda like cousins:- Otter: Beaver: Strong family resemblance.
  21. Heavy bait does not equal fast retrieve, with swimbaits it 's as fast as necessary to make the bait tail wiggle, which with Matt 's baits is quite slow because the baits are very well made and quite soft.
  22. Is it true that some baitcasting reels with lower ratios can bring in line faster than a reels with a higher gear ratio? Yes it is true, I 've said it in numerous ocassions but apparently nobody pays attention to it. If so what reel make/model has the fastest ability to bring in line? Many spinning reels are faster than any "burner" baitcaster. Also what lures do you like to use ultra fast reels for? I want fast reels for target fishing so I can get my bait back ASAP to cast again to the same target or to another target, I want fast reels to pick up the slack line ASAP like when worm/ jig fishing, prop, pop & walk the dog baits, for jerkbaiting. Lipless cranks can be fished with fast reels when you need it because they don 't roll on their side like lipped cranks do.
  23. Got several ( when I don 't have something laying there in my T- boxes ? ) big and small and it 's been ages since I fished with one, in Mexico they used to call them "perritos" ( analogy, hellbender = water dog = perros de agua = perrito ( little dog ) ) but it 's been a long time since I 've seen one in a store. Does it catch fish ? yes it does like any other lure, in Cajón de Peñas they were extremely effective when trolled.
  24. The only problem is that for casting the Hasuzzy is he needs a true swimbait rod with 3 ounces of weight is far from the weight casting capabilities of a heavy action flipping stick.
  25. Scary isn 't it ? The night of the living dead. ( muahahahaha ----> evil laff )
