  1. Weight = 6.0 ounces Doug I 'm not kidding Game, I have the 103 and the 105, the Itö casts better than the 103 with a little bit more spin control than the 105.
  2. That backplay is normal in all Shimano baitcasting reels, the anti reverse is not quite infinte like in Daiwas.
  3. Cart, you may take the pic of the fish while you are in the process of unhooking it, weighting it ........ that 's possesion of the fish ----> breaking the law, the law says: NO possesion, therefore no weighting: no weight, no record. You can 't choose which laws to obey, you have to obey them all until those laws are changed or eliminated.

    Swim Baits

You mean the Live Magic Shad ( Javallon knock off ), yup they work and can be fished not only as a swimbait, size matters to you, it doesn 't matter to bass, they have bigger mouths than brains.
  5. The only true difference between Kinami and GYCB is that Kinami baits have the Kinami name stamped on the egg sack of the Flash worm.
  6. You are not going to believe Avid but the Alphas Itö casts better than the regular TDZ 103, casts like the 105 but with a little more spool control.
  7. You don 't pay shipping if your order is over 50 dollars, the only time you pay shipping is when ordering rods and even then the cost is minimal.
  8. Go for the Sol, is an outstanding light lure reel.
  9. You need ( 2 ) 4x7x2.5 ball bearings to support the knobs, that will make the reel smoother on the retrieve, Alphas Itö comes with a bushing and a sheath ( no bb 's ), smooth but not "buttery" smooth like a Type F, Pixy or TDZ. You can purchase the complete set ( cork knobs, 4 bearings and extra screws ) from Jun at JapanTackle. ( about 42 dollars )
  10. if placing the spool perpendicular to the floor ----> label on the right if placing the spool paralel to the floor ----> label facing up.
  11. Welcome the the wonderful world of baitcasters.
  12. The Sol is better light & UL caster than the Curado, but the ultimate finesse baitcaster for bass applications has a different name ---> PIXY.
  13. Get a couple of bearings to support the knobs.
  14. Why so few ? :-? Oh well, I think that answers the question :
  15. We are the BR collective, resistance is futile ...... prepare to be assimilated.
  16. Just like my first fishing rod, a fiberglass Shakespeare with Shakespeare spinning reel, still have it; no doubt that fishing gear has come a loooooong way.
  17. It 's no brainer, Extreme/Stradic combo hands down. You are getting a 100 dollars retail great rod for 20 dollars, with the best bang for the buck 120 dollars Stradic.
  18. Got lots of bags of worms I purchased in 1989 and they are as fresh as when first bought, spinnerbait skirts, you need to check those, silicone normally doesn 't rot but the rubber tie does dry out. Line, if spooled on a reel, it 's trash. Have your reels lubed, the grease is probably caked and the oil has evaporated. Clean rods and rod guides, run a stocking through the guides, it will tell you if the inner surface of the guide is nickless and smooth.
  19. Oh boy, cabin fever is taking it 's toll. :
  20. For the purpose you want the rod it will be more than fine.
  21. Medium Light Spinning -----> noodle Medium Spinning -----> fishing ROD I do own a couple of MLs, that I use for panfishing and like RW said, the limitation is the lack of power to make a good hookset in a fish with a more bony mouth like a bass. Not that I don 't catch bass with them while panfishing but most of them get away just because they were not properly hooked even though my hooks are razor sharp there 's not enough stiffness in the rod to penetrate the mouth.
  22. Title of THE quickly passes on after you have fished with a Pixy, then THE becomes the ex-THE Ronnie.

  24. Speaking of Shimano reels, the only differences between a 2000-2500 model and a 3000 model is the spool, the reel is the same..... and one tenth of an ounce heavier due to larger spool.
  25. I would start by understanding the fish, once you understand the fish you are ready for the rest, start with BIGMOUTH by Glen Lau.
