  1. WD-40 is an outstanding solvent and one of the things that it can dissolve aside from grease & oil is the glue they use to bind the rare earth materials used in the magnets of the magnetic brake system dissolving the magnets.
  2. And the fuel consumption of your vehicle is ?
  3. Can 't you take a bus ? How much is the minimum wage ?
  4. If it itches ----> scratch it.
  5. One of the most underrated lures by most bass fisherman in the plain old in-line spinner, those have been catching fish for ages and still do.
  6. A stick of dynomite.
  7. Beavers and Wooly Bugs are a completely different animal so they are not a rip-off, they don 't even look a like; wooly bugs are quite good baits and very productive, my only beef with them is that they are quite light and take ages to sink with a bare hook, split shot rigged like Ncbass suggested is a great way to fish them, you can also T-rig them with a bullet sinker or with a weighted hook to increase the sink ratio or reverse T-rig ( inserting the hook between the tails ) adding weight with a nail weight in the head, they also work on shakey heads or plain jigheads.
  8. From those two I would go with the Sol, not that the Curado is bad ( on the contrary ) it 's only the that the Sol is a better easier caster that will outcast the Curado for a couple of yards with the lighter offerings. But there 's a detail with the Sol, it doesn 't have clicking drag star like the Curado does, some see that as a small inconvinience, I don 't have a problem with it.
  9. Until we moved to Leon we used to live in Mexico City and being built upon the old Texcoco Lake with it 's soft soil any 'quake on the Pacific Coast shook the city ( which was quite often ), I 'm no chicken but I just hate quakes. Then my wife had the bright idea of suggesting we could move to the States, but not every part of the States, she suggested we could move to the little town she 's from, Grover Beach, California :-/ ........ nah, me don 't thinks so :-?. Waking up in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is not exactly my idea of a quiet place to move to.
  10. Joined a porn site. :-/ Hey, I had to find some way to spend a little time ya know. :
  11. And what you did ? upgraded ? I 've got the LE in my sights, man what a beautiful rod it is.
  12. The baits I fish the most are: Crankbaits.- Rapala Shad Rap, Storm Wiggle Wart, Storm Thundercrank and Megabass Bait X Spinnerbait.- 1/4 oz white & chartreuse single colorado or single willow leaf gold blade Jigs.- 1/2 oz black Soft plastics.- Zoom Trickworm, 5 inch Zoom Salty Fat Albert, 4 inch Zoom Dead Ringer. Everytime this kind of question is asked and after I reply I always wonder, why on earth I always carry a ton of stuff ? :-? Oh well, better have and not need than need and not have.
  13. You mean snap/swivel combination. How great is the risk of any of them failing ? the same risk you have of your knot failing, your line breaking, etc. If you purchase quality made snaps you reduce the risk of them failing. If you tie your knot properly you reduce the risk of the knot failing. After all, snaps and swivels are an integral part of saltwater fishing rigs and bass don 't grow as big or fish as hard as many saltwater game. If you use "El Cheapo" brand don 't expect miracles; purchase the best, Sampo swivels and DuoLock snaps are some of the best. I use snap/swivel combination to fish in-line spinners. I use swivels in C-rigs I use swivels in floating worm rigs I use snaps in some baits like certain swimbaits & certain cranks to enhance the wobble. For bare hooks, spinnerbaits, jigs & most crankbaits I direct tie, and every several casts I check my line for wear signs if I 'm fishing rough cover or bottom and trim and retie as necessary.
  14. We can 't choose which laws and regulations we are going to obey, if the law or regulation say you should keep no fish under X size all those fish you catch under that size must be released immediately, if the law says you can 't posses more than X number of fish then once you have your limit all fish must be released. There you are with a livewell full of undersize fish, the warden comes and catches you what are you going to say ? "excuse me officer I 'm keeping them in the livewell so they don 't riun the spot when I release them", what you think the warden is going to do ?
  15. Oh boy a Stogie, nice piece RR.
  16. Brand: Owner, size: gee, I don 't know, got my T-box at home so I can 't tell. The ideal would be to replace them with Katsuage hooks but those are really hard to find.
  17. Hey Glenn, tell that feller Murphy that he messes around he 's going to .
  18. It can 't get cooler than that. ;D
  19. From those I would choose: 1 st the GL2 2nd it 's a tough call between the Crucial & the Fenwick 3rd the Kistler.
  20. This tells us how "beat resistant" the horse is, pretty tuff feller.
  21. I already had a Calais 100A, magnificent reel, my only beef was the weight of the reel. I said had because Calais 100A is no longer in my possesion.
  22. Oh, aren 't you the clever ones.
  23. Ok, my Daiwas are outnumbering my Shimanos by two reels, this causes a very disturbing imbalance to The Force ( well, the Dark Side of it ) , this disturbance has been bothering me for a while and clearly it needed a solution, two more Shimano reels to balance, but which ones ? at first I thought about the new Japanese Metanium MG in both versions to contrarest the imbalance, but at 39,000 yens plus shipping per skull ........ :-?. Then Shimano decides to offer almost the same reel but with a sharp looking metallic black finish with an anodized spool in red ( kool factor +1 ), the question was WHEN ? !!! The gods of tackle junkiness have heard my prairs and just as fast as it was unveiled at ICAST this past week that little on-line store out from San Luis Obispo, Kaliforny already has the 6.2:1 version in stock. Needless to say that the BM has gone wild ( as usual : ) and now he 's drooling and foaming like a rabid dawg right over my shoulder. :-/
  24. I can 't comment on the PLUS series as you find them from the counter right now, however I can comment on the series as they were back in the late 80 's when I purchased many of the 10+, 15+,20+ & 30+, I see no changes in the design but I can 't judge them by sight through an on-line catalog, it 's been more than a decade that I purchased a lure from that series. They were good ( mine still are ) baits specially because back then right at the dawn of the age of the dinosaurs when I bought mine no other manufacturer offered bait that could dive at those depths, they are very convinient for me since most of the lakes I fish on a regular basis are built on steep sloping canyons where the lakes can reach 300 ft in depth with very few areas that you could call "shallows" and filled with very clear water where you can see down 20-30 ft. In order to reach those depths ( or if you want them to do the "stretch" ) you need to fish them with thin line 10 lb test or less. Excellent bottom bumping baits, got a 8 ft deep target ? grab a 10+ and slam it with the bait, scratch the bottom and lift some silt. They are extremely durable ( mine have taken quite a beating through the years ), the bill is made with a very tough plastic that takes the punishment without having to worry that it may break ( like the Rapala DT ) shaped like a spoon, the bait is made of tough plastic and has 2-3 chambers ( depending upon the size ) with 2-3 large steel balls inside ( 1 per chamber ) that give out a very audible clacking noise. Opposed to other baits where the overall size of the bait body is large in this ones it 's not, the bait is as large as the bill. The hooks on mine were good quality although they needed a little honing to make them razor sharp. They are not the most wrist friendly crankbait around, they dive steeply and have a great deal of water resistance so they need a low speed reel to crank them in otherwise they feel like reeling in a bucket.
  25. The measurement of success varies from person to person which is determined by his/hers personal view of the sport, if you measure success by how many fish you catch there 's always a way to catch a few, grab a 4 inch grub or a rooster tail and you are in business; if you measure success by how big your fish are then you are in another wagon with different parameters, big fish hunters don 't measure their success with how many but with how big the fish were, for them truckloading the boat with 2-3-4 pounders is getting "skunked". To me getting skunked is no fishing ( the recreational activity which doesn 't necessarily mean catching fish ) at all for whatever reason you may think about like wind, rain, broken outboard, etc.
