  1. With the reels and rods he casts with it 's no surprise, bet this man owns more of the 200 ever manufactured limited edition Abu Morrüm SX ZPI AE74 than anybody else in the planet.
  2. The Gl2 is not in the same level of the Avid, the Avid is one step above the GL2.
  3. I love that reply. ;D Down here it 's soccer , no wonder why we should never discuss politics, religion and football or soccer..... pretty much a religion, obsession & passion. My compadre is a soccer fan and visits us at home specially during the Sundays, I 've got Sky at home, got any idea how many channels are dedicated to the mexican soccer league alone ? well, I don 't know how my compadre does it but he watches them all at the same time. Many times I just leave him at my home and go fishing on my own.
  4. No problem ! it 's better to ask than to have the doubt. For deep/extra deep divers and for slow rolling spinnerbaits I use the slowest reel available. For super shallow all the way to mid runners, lipless cranks and regular spinnerbaiting I use regular speed reels. Lipless cranks are about the only cranks you can fish with high speed reels just because they don 't lay on their side when you reel them in at warp speed.
  5. Lousy team of loosers.
  6. Worming, jigging, pitching, flipping, topwater. In some cases buzzbaiting, lipless crankbaiting. Whenever you need to pick up slack line in an eye blink or when you need to burn the water.

    'STONED'

Well, it 's obvious that you need the tests to be done to determine the nature of the stones then determine the course of action which could be: 1.- pulverizing the stones with ultrasound ( that can 't be done on all types of stones ), 2.- surgery or 3.- special diet and treatment to dissolve the stones. Kidney stones indicate a methabolical/dietary problem reason why you have to know from what the stones are made of, the most common ones are calcium oxalate, urates and magnesium ammonium sulfate ( estruvite ), and they form if your urine is alkaline.
  8. Very nice albino morph JC.
  9. The rod is good but not at that price, if I were to get a Bionic Blade I would wait until they have them on sale ( which happens oftenly ) and get it for 20 dollars less. Or do what RW suggests, get a combo and you practically get the rod for free ( not exactly free but with a huge discount ).
  10. Exactly my man, be versatile. A couple of weeks ago I went to Zimapán, great lake located about 4 hous drive from my home and that draws all the anglers from the region within it 's 4 hour drive radius, most of the times the water is clear and soft plastics do make one heck of a catching there, the lake had risen 8-10 ft in a couple of weeks after the rains, the water was murky and everybody we met plus all the reports I read in the mexican forum whined that the bite wasn 't good. It wasn 't good for them, for us it was .... excellent ! , but we didn 't fish with soft plastics exclusively ( had so-so results with noise making rigs and heavy vibration plastics ) we fished with spinnerbaits and crankbaits.
  11. Looks can be deceiving, if it 's red, black and yellow be careful it can be a coral snake, there 's an old say: if red touches black ---> venom lack ( harmless, false coral snake ), if red touches yellow ---> kill a fellow ( poisonous, true coral snake ) but I don 't think I 'm going to stay there if I see the color scheme in depth detail. What else you should avoid ----> anything that has rattles on the other end of the tail. Where I live there are a lot of poisonous animals: rattlesnakes, scorpions, black widow spiders, those really nasty red/orange stripped wasps with more firepower than an Apache helicopter with attitude, those big black bumble bees and to round up the hot critter family the fire ants. Learn to move along the banks and always be careful where you step, don 't ever jump over a fallen tree, a rattlesnake can be undernearth it and bite you when you land on the other side. Step on the tree, take a look and then step down from the tree, use a cane where you are walking along grassy banks, sweep the grass in front of you with it, if there 's a snake it will either crawl away or take defensive position and you will be able to see it.
  12. How many good rains ? This weekend it downpoured on me and my fishing partner .... 3 times ! Caught some fish at the feeder creek and main river of the reservoir but we caught the most with shallow, mid and deep runners right at the dam, they were concentrated not far from the valve tower.
  13. My man, the only dumb question is the one never asked. As you said, the tail doesn 't float nor it needs to, in straight tail worms the bait reduces it 's diameter progresivelly all the way down to the tip of the tail where it has a plastic bubble or a pointy tail ( like in the Kut Tail ), it 's the section between the bubble and the main body where the straight tail worm is magical, since the diameter is so thin it reacts violently to any twitch you impart to it with your rod tip, it wiggles immediately lifting up the bubble, since the bubble is heavy enough to sink again the tail wiggles on it 's way down again. Between twitches to make the bait jump from the bottom you shake your rod making the tail wiggle. Some people think that the shakey head rig is mean for floating baits only, where is it written that it has to be that way ? we come again to what I 've always said: 1.- There are no "rules" 2.- Know your gear and know your baits so you can get the most out of them.
  14. GLoomis and Chronarch 50/51 Mg IS a match made in heaven, GLoomis/Curado is a match made more down to earth.
  15. Three good choices but from those three I would go for the Loomis without thinking it too much.
  16. Shimano Metanium MG7, 6.2 oz, 7:1 GR, 30 IPT Nope, it 's not a version of the Core MGFV, there are substantial differences between both ( no Instagage system, aluminum gears vs brass ) and you can find it for around $270-280 if you shop around in the japanese websites like Bass.jp ( forum advertiser ).
  17. All of them work, personally I like Trick Worms, Finesse worms, Kut Tails & Jelly Worms, my preference has a lot to do with the fact I 've been fishing for decades with straight tail worms, I feel the wiggling tail of a straight tail worm is an attention getter, only problem is ....... that them danged bluegills also think so ! >
  18. Don 't know which is worse, getting hooked or kissed by Jimmy Houston....... now that I think about it with more detail, getting hooked and kissed by Jimmy Houston is worse, cruel and unnecessary suffering.
  19. You want to generate a louder clacking sound use the bead, you don 't want to don 't use it.
  20. It has no hook on top.
  21. I 've only experienced one lip breakeage since they came out, preciselly this weekend, but I don 't think I can attribute it to the lip being thin, I admit it was my fault, made a cast and the lure slammed against a huge rock hard ..... I guess I put too much "spirit" into that cast :-/.
  22. That 's my boy ! Truely yours The BaitMonkey.
  23. Yep that 's what I meant. An Extra Fast tip is quite stiff, the rod bends too little on the tip, not good for baits with treble hooks hanging from them, the only way to compensate the stiffness of the tip is reducing the power of the rod for one more forgiving to act as a shock absorber; single hook baits like spinnerbaits, jigs & worms have no problem, they offer very little or no leverage point to the fish from where to loosen the hooks and unbutton the lure. I undertand the urge you have for purchasing stuff, listen from someone more experienced and older than you, I myself had that urge and made many mistakes when purchasing rods, reels and lures, mistakes that cost me money and when I look at it in retrospective I wonder how many other good things I could have purchased with the money I spent buying tons of crap. Learn from others experience, you will become a much better and intelligent spender. Back to the subject of rods: One rod can 't do everything, what makes a good soft plastic rod makes a terrible crankbait rod, if you simply can 't purchase 2 rods then purchase the rod that will fit most baits, a good quality MH Fast rod covers all single hook baits which represent 2/3 of all the baits you need for bass, it 's not the greatest choice but still, if you just can 't have it all that 's what I would have, for feel baits you need to have the best you can. Now, if you can purchase two rods you can do a lot more, you can get a lesser ( lesser doesn 't = lousy )quality M/ML rod for crankbaits and for finesse tactics with lighter line and smaller baits even if it is a Fast action rod. I 've been doing that for years, as a matter of fact, I purchased my first crankbait rod ( specialized ) only 9 months ago, which means that for the last 25 years of bass fishing I didn 't have a crankbait rod and I fish a lot with crankbaits because I like crankin.
  24. You return it to Shimano and get a new rod. ok but do i have to pay for a replacement fee then? No, the most you would pay would be the shipping.
