  1. About the size of a Sweet Beaver. Let me take a pic of one side by side to a beaver so you can see the size GMan, will post it tomorrow.
  2. If you are on the search process then different diving depths is the way you should go, you are searching for them so you need to have your lures in a stair like pattern, once you have located the depth at which the fish are holding then you can switch baits and have them all running at the same depth. The numeber of strikes and what you see in your finder tells you at which depth the fish are holding for that particular area. Many don 't see trolling as a real fishing technique, I do not agree with such opinion, after all you still have to find the fish, find the right speed that fish are liking, selecting the right lures and so on; it also gives you the oportunity to locate places that attract the fish to them. I found what now is one of my best spots in my home lake by trolling.
  3. That depends if you are trolling to locate the fish or trolling to fish a depth once you have located the depth at which the fish are holding.
  4. Rapala Shad Rap in all it 's sizes and multiple variations.
  5. We old farts used to call it boomerang or rubber band rig, a variation of the "hook above sinker" rig ( now called D-shot ).
  6. You can turn almost any common & ordinary jighead into a shakey head, only thing you need to do is to be shure it has a long shank hook, then purchase a pack of these: And voilá, there you have a shakey head for a few cents a piece ( Low_Budget style )
  7. Everything that has been written about senkos and it 's many copies is HERE
  8. It 's a matter of timing which gets solved by practice.
  9. There 's a small lake about an hour and a half drive from my homeplace, in the 20 years or so I 've fished it never ever have I seen it with more than half a foot of visibility, the place is a mudhole and white spinnerbaits are the No 1 bait in that lake followed closely by firetiger lipless cranks. One can rationalize that fire tiger is a good option since it 's a very bright color, but white spinnerbaits in really muddy water ? What you think is more important ? 1.- Vibration 2.- Flash 3.- Sound 4.- Color To me, that 's the order, I don 't care much about color as much as I care about vibration and flash.
  10. What ?!?! I can 't believe my eyes !, RW purchasing a JDM reel ? :-? Man, I thought I 've seen everything but this is a new one.
  11. There 's actually no wrong way to fish a Torpedo, the most common way is to cast the bait, wait until the ripples dissapear and then give it 2-3 jerks, reel in the slack line and repeat again but many times you reel in the bait and it catches fish ( something akin to a buzzbait ).
  12. One thing is for shure, I always meditate if I really need to cast that 40+ dollars sinking hard swimbait in a lake stuffed with stumps, sunken trees and brush, with soft plastic swimbaits I don 't meditate it too much. ;D
  13. AC Plug Videos Click on the pics on the right to watch the videos.
  14. Ever asked yourself how a particular swimbait moves ? Swimbait videos Includes several domestic manufactured swimbaits. Click on the bait you want to see in action, then click on "Movie File" to see the video.
  15. It 's all in the thumb, it 's always been that way and it will always be that way. Seen the DC reels ? well, not even those are backlash free, I know it and they do make pretty good backlashes too ..... haven 't found the baitcaster I can 't backlash.
  16. Besides, they are not THAT expensive, saw them in WalMart in my last trip to MacAllen and at 2 bones pre rigged with a jighead compared to the Javallon,I see it as a good price, Javallons cost 15 dollars a pack of 5 plus 3 dollars shipping ( 3.60 ea ). Brannan 's Bass Shop has the 4.5" pack of 4 baits @ $4.89 ( non rigged ) Don 't know about you but 13 dollars difference LMS vs Javallon sure is one neck of a deal and no other bait swims like it.
  17. None. If you think those are fragile than God you never purchased the original one ( Magic Shad is a knock off ), the Imakatsu Javallon, sneeze hard on it and it breaks.
  18. Sweet kernel corn.
  19. That 's an easy one, RW is going to reach the 10k first, just begin by bashing Shimano or GLoomis or saying Daiwa Pixys rule supreme over the Calais and you 'll see how fast he reaches 10 K. ;D
  20. And have them fully serviced more oftenly by a professional like RM , plus you get a discount for being a BR member, what more you can want ? professional service and discount.
  21. If you are after the big bite ----> jig n 'pig Some may say big worms, some may say swimbaits, yep, both catch big fish but for me, the most consistent big bite getter has been the old favorite jig n 'pig, even though my first 10 pounder was caught with a Rapala Minnow and my PB ( 13.86 ) was caught on a Rapala Shad Rap the bunch of fish in between those two have been caught mostly ( 70% ) with the old reliable jig n 'pig.
  22. +1 Ronnie How do you decide on which type of blade to use? Warm colored, stained or muddy water ---> single Colorado blade Cold clear or slighly colored water ---> single Willow Leaf blade
  23. Target fishing Muddy , one spot, a cast, 3-4 hops of the jig and reel in again to make another cast to the same target, do it 2-3 times, if no takers move to another target, you make it easier if you have a burner reel on your side. Another way would be by swimming the jig. But I still prefer a spinnerbait for search bait.
