  1. A question and a couple of suggestions The question: you impale the bait on the hook or nose hook it ? Suggestion No1.- it 's pretty neat to see the way the bait moves in the video, but the viewer can 't see how you are moving the rod, it would be better IMHO, to have the video with both, you showing how to move the rod and how the bait reacts to it. I know you have an instructional video but a glance on how you move the rod would certainly leave the viewer thirsty for knowledge and BAM! you hook us tackle junkies with both, the rig and the video. Suggestion No2.- The narrative in the video is good, but in parts it 's hard to understand, a person with a more clear way of speaking would be better.
  2. Has anyone used these? Yes and no, not exactly the Lake Fork but the original Javallon from Imakatsu. I don 't know if the Lake Fork version runs perfectly straight but the Javallon does unweighted, only problem with the original ( Javallon ) is that the bait is so soft that it tears up very easily, they are expensive and hard to acquire, it does have a killer action when twitched, pretty much like a dying fish.
  3. WE ( the customers ) can claim that, you can 't If you say it and the everyday Joe who thinks he just found the magic wand of bass fishing when purchasing your product reads that and he doesn 't get those 10 bass an hour you are saying you get when fishing with your product then the first thing he 's going to feel is that he got screwed and begins to bad mouth it.
  4. Just keep them in their bag, when you close the bag remove the air and store them away from the sunlight. Still got a 14 packs of 7.5 in Culprit ribbontail worms, another 10 bags of Mann 's Augertail worms plus multiple leftovers I purchased 20 or 25 years ago and they are as fresh as the day I bought them.
  5. Look at it the way I do F4F 2 Lost and destroyed bearings 1 Twisted liver 1 Severa case of diarreah when I got home Had to change the entire bearing n 'stuff on the right side Having to do everything on our own on a Sunday night exactly where there 's no phone signal The Highway Patrol didn 't catch us infranganti or I would have had to pay a pretty hefty fine for scratching the highway pavement The danged wheel didn 't strike anybody nor was run over by anybody Having to stand THE FACE for over a week. If somebody comes and tells me he 's gonna charge me 300 bones for doing it I really think it 's cheap. It could have been more, I had to drag the boat for another 30 yards before I could find a place to park at to that the 90 or 100 yards I dragged the boat before I could stop, 130 yards of highway pavement aren 't cheap.
  6. Nothing ever happens ...... until it happens. Just ask me, it ain 't pretty when you hear that wham, skreeeeeeeech, sparkles flying everywhere, tire passes you at warp speed going from one lane to the other without signaling and you are taking a curve at 65 with a half ton boat pushing your tow vehicle and you just can 't hit the brakes. And it happened to me twice on the same day :-? ( same wheel ), instead of arriving at my home at 9 PM I got there at 4 AM, and you know THE FACE the wife has when you said you were going to arrive at a certain hour and arrive 7 hours later , don 't know what scared me more, the bearing shredding to pieces or having to se THE FACE for over a week.
  7. Fluoro is stiff even in the lowest diameters. Trilene XL, Stren original and Magnathin are the least memory lines in that diameter I can remember. Only problem is that they are not what you can call abrassion "resistant".
  8. If they can take the time to post a question about senkos then can take the time to read the sticky header, it 's right there in big letters: Senko FAQ- LOOK HERE FIRST !. But I guess it 's pretty much like all the headers, forum rules, FAQ/Guidelines, etc, etc, once there nobody cares to read them.
  9. I don 't have that rod, I fsih shakeys on my IMX CR721. Man I just cant 't tell you how much I like that rod.
  10. Same animal, different disguise.
  11. The danged never ending story, huh ? :-?
  12. One of the most neglected aspects of fishing wnd where most fail the most is that people just don 't take time to learn about what they are targeting, know the biology of bass, you 'll be two steps closer to catching them. There 's no such thing as a "magic" bait, the magic is behind the rod handle, know how to present your baits and you 'll be another step closer to catching them.
  13. Good catch. One word of advice, if you want those reels to cast like a dream you need to oil the spool supporting bearings every trip or two, a drop of oil and they are ready to go.
  14. The only two things you have to know are: 1.- Baitcasters backlash, even the most seasoned of us get backlashes now and then, do something stoopid and the beast will bite you. 2.- Spinning reels twist the line no matter how sophisticated the anti-twist system is. 3.- Spinning reels not always "like" heavy line, specailly true when your reel is not the right size for the line you are planning to spool. All the rest they say about spinning vs baitcasting is nonsense. LBH mentioned power, I agree. Some are going to say accuracy ----> nonsense, accuracy is something that 's gained with practice. Others are going to say distance, well for the everyday Joe that seldomly casts more than 70 yards on a day casting is the same with practice and the proper casting technique.
  15. So how does a fish find a t-rig worm, a jig, a dropshot, etc. at night? Google Tapetum lucidum, there 's your answer.
  16. When fishing with softy rods you don 't set the hook with a yank of the rod, you let the fish impale itself on the hook; first of all, "skin" hook your baits if you have them rigged weedless ( T-rig, shakey ) or if skinning causes much problem T-expose the hook, then maintain your line at 10 o 'clock, when you feel the fish taking the bait, reel in the slack and lift the rod to tighten the line at the same time, when the fish pulls the bait it 's time for using the power of the rod by lifting the tip to 12 o 'clock and maintain the pressure, if your hooks are sharp the fish impales itself on the hook. It 's a matter of practice Dom, I myself learned to do it fishing for bluegills with 2 lb test line.
  17. Rapala Shad Rap in all it 's versions.
  18. It 's been ages since I 've fished with one, hooks on the original suck, modifications ? none that I can think about. Most productive size/color ?.......... well, never caught much on it, maybe that 's why I don 't fish with them.
  19. Man, it ain 't supposed to have a real reel seat ? Oh, well, like they say, if it 's movin and it ain 't supposed to ---> duct tape.
  20. It 's not a problem of rod stiffness Muddy, it 's a problem of rigging and improper hook setting technique.
  21. So much for the supposed indestructability of braided, huh ? :-/ Don 't know from where such assumption came but braided is not as indestructable as many think, oh yeah, the line is tuff like nails but it doesn 't mean it won 't break and specially if it happens to find sharp objects in it 's path like Dodge mentioned, rocks, broken sharp edged rocks are the most common reason why braided line breaks. And because you think braided is indestructible ( wrong assumption ) you simply don 't bother to do one of the most basics principles of fishing: to check your line frequently while fishing. :
  22. This is like the GYCB Senko vs senko like copy debate, while some will say that there 's nothing like the senko others will say that it 's too expensive, that x or y brand works as well as the original, etc. Sweet Beavers are the originals, all the rest are copies, all of them work, it 's up to you to decide which one you like the most. If you want Beaver like baits at an excellent price that work good visit one of our sponsors website: ***.
  23. Everybody says buzzbaits are awsom and I can 't catch a fish on them even if my life depended on it, so who is it, the bait or the guy ? Use the search engine and read Chris ' post about crankbaiting ( he posted it about a month ago ), one of the best explanations on where and how to crankbait I 've read.
  24. I 've been to many places in my life, but the best steak I 've ever had in my life was at a small italian restaurant in StLouis, MO 6 years ago, don 't ask me the name of the restaurant cuz I forgot it and I don 't travel to St Louis like everyday to remember it ya know, maybe Gman can do a little scouting for us one day and tell us the name of the restaurant . It was a fillet about 1 1/2 thick covered with cheese and a mix of mushrooms & chips of bacon, holly s*t ! the meat was so tender you could cut it with the fork, perfectly seasoned and the blend of cheese, steak, mushrooms & bacon chips was out of this world to taste. One of my wishes before I die is going to St Louis again and go to that restaurant in particular to have another one of those steaks.
