You can always ask and if you can ask to a guy that lives in Mexico even better ( just like me )
Can 't help you there.
Depends greatly on what you want to fish for, if I were to go and try to catch me a fish of a lifetime the places I would go are limited to two lakes in particular: Baccarac and Sugar Lake, for those looking to catch a 10 pounder there are a lot of options, El Salto, Huites, Vicente Guerrero, Aguamilpa are some of them. A 10 pounder may impress you and many others, for us who live in the country and have fished many of those lakes a 10 pounder is a nice catch but ....... there a lot of places where you can catch one and most of them are just a cast away.
If you are looking for the big fish it 's better to do it when the chances of catching one are in your favor
, those chances happen during a narrow window of time when:
1.- The fish are about to spawn
2.- The water levels of the lake are relatively low due to the winter drought and the drawing the water from the lakes for irrigation purposes
3.- You don 't get cooked in the process
The three happen during February until mid March in those lakes.
Once those three conditions have passed away the chances of you catching a really big un diminish greatly. It happens that during the month of July some lakes are lower in level but the catch is, it doesn 't always happens, it depends on how much it rained the year before and if the rainy season began in May. If it rained heavily the previous year most likely the lake is almost full, if the rains begin in May then the lake will remain and increase it 's level because water in not being drawn from it to irrigate crops.
