  1. Same body but different spool size.
  2. Weeeeelllll, you just wacky rig it ya know. But, why would you want a shakey head to wacky rig a stickbait when a common & ordinary weedless or non weedless jighead serves the purpose and it 's by far a lot less expensive than a shakey jighead ?
  3. You can always ask and if you can ask to a guy that lives in Mexico even better ( just like me ) Can 't help you there. Depends greatly on what you want to fish for, if I were to go and try to catch me a fish of a lifetime the places I would go are limited to two lakes in particular: Baccarac and Sugar Lake, for those looking to catch a 10 pounder there are a lot of options, El Salto, Huites, Vicente Guerrero, Aguamilpa are some of them. A 10 pounder may impress you and many others, for us who live in the country and have fished many of those lakes a 10 pounder is a nice catch but ....... there a lot of places where you can catch one and most of them are just a cast away. If you are looking for the big fish it 's better to do it when the chances of catching one are in your favor , those chances happen during a narrow window of time when: 1.- The fish are about to spawn 2.- The water levels of the lake are relatively low due to the winter drought and the drawing the water from the lakes for irrigation purposes 3.- You don 't get cooked in the process The three happen during February until mid March in those lakes. Once those three conditions have passed away the chances of you catching a really big un diminish greatly. It happens that during the month of July some lakes are lower in level but the catch is, it doesn 't always happens, it depends on how much it rained the year before and if the rainy season began in May. If it rained heavily the previous year most likely the lake is almost full, if the rains begin in May then the lake will remain and increase it 's level because water in not being drawn from it to irrigate crops.
  4. Aside from spool size ( which means bigger drag washers and more line capacity ) the true difference between sizes is the spool depth and length which have an impact on how the line behaves after leaving the spool, the smaller the spool the more tightly packed the line will be resulting in more coiling when the line leaves the spool. So the one thing you will notice more between both sizes is how much the line coils and how much reserve line left you have left in the spool which is "usable" line or just filler. By the time you reach about 1/2 half of the line capacaity of the spool in a 1500 size reel vs a 200/2500 size what 's left inside the 1500 spool coils so badly that is in practical term useless for applications where maintaining a tight line is important ( soft plastics & jigs ). Too bad that shallow spool models are not popular in the DM, cuz fishing with a shallow spool version makes you forget about line coiling.
  5. way to go Raul Did ya lose any skin over it? Actually I stared at my hand for a good 10 min or so asking to myself: 1.- how stoopid I must look with the bait & glue bottle sticking to my fingers 2.- Am I retarded or what ? should have checked how big the hole in the glue bottle was 3.- really, all they need is a drop of glue ........ not the entire content of the darn glue bottle ! Didn 't loose any skin though, I always carry a tiny bottle of acetone ..... just in case , my practice has shown me that when you use cyanoacrylate you should always have a bottle of acetone at hand, and I mean AT HAND AT ALL TIMES ! otherwise, try to reach for the bottle you got right there 20 ft from you when you 've got your fingers glued to the skin of a 120 lb dead asleep Rottweiler.
  6. Did the glue thing ....... ended up with the jighead, worm and glue bottle attached to 3 fingers on my left hand. :-?
  7. Not entirely accurate, the only difference between a shakey head and a regular jighead is the size of the hook. You can pour your own shakey heads ( like I 've done for years ) and not need a bait hanger on them to hold the bait, you rig the bait just like if you were rigging a t-rig bait and use the bait holder along the neck to keep the bait from sliding from the hook. Now if you want a more fancy looking shakey head you pour the jighead with a 3-4-5 or 6/0 hook and attach a Tru Turn HitchHiker to the hook eye to screw in the bait.
  8. In practical terms any soft plastic bait works on a shakey head.
  9. BaitMonkey says your stock is poor and slim, you need at least 2 of each.
  10. You forgot about Batchic Muddy, menàge a trois. ;D
  11. Wish I could but I can 't :-/, it 's not because of the weather, it 's because SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED ORDERED that I must put up the Xmas decorations during the weekend ......yes master ! I 'm just your humble servant. And then comes her birthday, then comes our wedding anniversary ( I don 't know why should I celebrate THAT one :-? ), then comes Xmas, then comes Lil Raul 's B-day and then comes New Year. Man, it 's going to be a very looooooooooooooooong December. :-[
  12. The BaitMonkey is so powerful.
  13. Been watching Batman movies on SKY and I have to say that Batman is my favorite super hero, thinking about it, Batman is the only truely human super hero. All the rest of the Super Heroes have super powers, Superman is an alien from Krypton, don 't think the INS would want to mess with the super guy even though his migratory status may be dubious he still is a guy with super powers. Aquaman breathes in the water and controls water creatures with the power of his mind; the Wonder Woman is super strong and has telepathic powers ( still don 't know how she can find that invisible plane she uses to fly around ); Flash is super fast, Spider man has sticky fingers, is super strong and his kinetic abilities are super; The Green Marvel has that ring an alien have him plus the super green lantern to recharge it ....... What does Batman have ? The man ain 't bullet proof, he can 't control nuthin with his mind, ain 't super strong, don 't have any alien hardware and so on, he 's just a common ordinary man with a very deep and well stocked wallet and a bunch of wonderful toys.......... maybe like Redlinerobert ? :-?
  14. Well, the old TDZ ain 't around no more but you can substitute it with a Chronarch 50/51 Mg and from that moment you won 't think you 'll need another reel for anything except another Chronarch Mg.
  15. not only that, back off the drag and cast control cap.
  16. Fish with it. ;D Ooops, sorry ! closer to the Equator on this side.
  17. Thinking about in more depth and looking at the picture I may think that the critter in the picture could be the BaitMonkey talking a hike through the woods in search for his next victim.
  18. I 'm open minded about the subject, let 's remember that for example the Okapi was only known to the locals until 1901 and that even though the europeans have been up and down all over the African for centuries none of them had ever seen one, so the possiblity is there. However I take any sighting of a large ape in the American continent with skepticism, apes according to the fossil records became extinct in the entire American continent millions of years ago, actually the only "ape" known to step foot in the American continent was man during the ice age and that wasn 't so long ago.
  19. Doc Raul says the best way to treat that mild case of brochitis is another trip to the Amazon.
